I know this statement makes you want to sing the Barenaked Ladies song “One Week” but it is true. Just look up and you will see that the countdown clock is 7 days. Next week we will see Big Brother 16 begin and all of the fun/mayhem that will occur after!
So we have talked a lot about our hopes for the season and about what we have heard (aka Read) about what could happen. So now let’s just sit back, BUY THE LIVE FEEDS and get ready to meet the house guests. They will be revealed in the next day or so…which will kick off a chain of events and people doing their “stalkerish” research to dig anything and everything up about them….should be fun time as always!
I have been told they have released pics of the house already. (I hope you like pastel’s. Orange and teal must be in this season…)
Should be fun to meet the new house guests. I am sad to tell you all that BBBlogger is NOT in the BB16 house this year.
But we will still enjoy every second right…

The big twist, just announced on The Talk: Each week, there will be two HoHs for each week. The two HoHs will both nominate two people, so four people will be nominated each week. Being HoH will no longer allow you to be safe, so I guess that one HoH could nominate the other HoH if he or she wanted to. And also, America is going to get to vote on more stuff.
To be honest, the two HoH thing sound way too complicated to me. But I’m not a fan of Big Brother twists in general. Too often, the twists seems to be set up mostly to help out certain players (like Rachel, Amanda, Frank, and other producer favorites).

LisaMarie..you beat me..lol I totally agree about this twist! It sounds WAY too complicated to me too. It was bad enough to have to listen to the two noms whine or stomp around for a week. Now we have 4 HGS bad moods to deal with!! And I haven’t done the math yet, but how do you get enough votes, especially as more people are gone, to sustain 4 noms??? I have a feeling that this, like coaches and the MVP thing last year, won’t last even thru mid-season!!!
Julie also said there is going to be something called Battle of the HOH’s(?) every week too . Geez, reading the blogs and writing mine, I don’t even remember what else she said about it now..lol But I hate the interactive stuff too. ALL shows do it nowadays and it’s usually with twitter, as opposed to calls, because everyone is so into it now. I am not on twitter and have no desire to be and I don’t like intereacting with shows! I didn’t mind voting on what the have-nots got to eat, but that was even pushing it for me!!lol I want to watch and be entertained! I don’t want to have to DO anything..except blog! 😉 And I don’t like millions of people interfering. I like it when they eat each other up. It should all come from within the house. That’s how the game was set up and I WISH they would leave it alone! Get interesting people in the house and then lat it play out. Period! Seems to be an odd concept anymore.

Thanks Lisa Marie and Star for “the talk” update. Now I don’t have to watch it and that makes me happy. I’m not thrilled about the 2 HOH concept at all and I agree that it won’t last long. Why bother to try for HOH if you aren’t safe? What’s the upside other than nominating two people? What if they both want to nom the same people? Sounds messy to me. Star, yes then we have too many grumps all week.
I am on Twitter but don’t participate so don’t know how to use it except for posting something which I think I did awhile ago. 🙂 Don’t want to have to vote on every little thing either but that’s just me. Apparently, there are a ton of people with happy fingers who just love to vote on TV shows.
BBB and Donna P – Orange and Teal – not a fav at all. Awful IMHO But the Bathroom looks great but give it time. 😀

Star — I agree, this twist probably is going to be yet another twist that gets abandoned halfway through the season or whenever the producers realize that its not getting them the results they were hoping for. I hate it when they do stuff like that because, even though I’m not a big fan of twists, I still think that once the rules of the game have been established, they should be followed until the game ends — as opposed to just arbitrarily abandoning them, like they did with the whole MVP thing.
As far as twitter goes, I’m on it 24/7 but I’m still not a huge fan of using it for voting or anything like that. Earlier this year, there was a reality show on SyFy called Opposite Worlds that was a lot like Big Brother. It used a “twitter popularity” index to determine who was the most and least popular player and those players would either get a reward or a punishment. But, it turned out that they weren’t really reading any of the tweets or anything like that — they were just counting how many times the individual players were mentioned on twitter. So, whenever I tweeted something negative about a player, I was actually helping that player get a reward. But anyway, twitter is probably the worst possible tool to use to determine the actual popularity of anything or anybody.
And speaking of twitter — most of the tweets I have seen about the twist seem to indicate that we’re not the only ones who are a bit underwhelmed by the twist. 🙂
Oh well. I may complain but I’ll still definitely be watching! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

@Starfish…I didn’t even think about the points you brought up! What IS the motivtion to get HOH if you aren’t safe?? And have no privacy?? How are you supposed to plot with your minions if you don’t have your own room?? I am assuming that the 2 will have to share. And HOW uncomfortable with THAT be if one is male and one female and they aren’t involved!!?? And who gets the bed??LOL Maybe they are trying to cut down on Showmance-capades in the boudouir, but this seems like a really complicated way to do it!! I also didn’t think about them both wanting to nominate the same person..or even people! Wht then? Only 2 noms?? Or do they have to go do a comp over it??? ARGH! I am getting a headache already just thinking about it…lol
I am So sick of all this interactive stuff on shows. Trying to watch Dog last week and people are twittering and it’s all along the bottom of the screen and you can’t see the show! People all think every word they have to say is important and needs to be heard. BLEH as aggie would say!! lol It’s really an annoying and kind of sick trend. But that’s just MHO.

LisaMarie……I just heard about a new singing contest coming up where people are going to be able to comment/vote WHILE the contestants are sining and they can SEE it! How devastating is that? the reason for judges on these shows is tht they ARE in the industry and have knowledge and experience to impart. So why do average tweeters who probably know nothing about singing, get to determine people’s futures?? I just don’t get this whole everyone needing to chime in on everything all the time concept. It’s like everyone wants to be famous, if only for a second. Kinda sad really. And I won’t be watching. And I am done dumping on social media…for now..lol
And the Talk only mentioned the twist…about 15 mins in as LM said. I thought they were supposed to show the house?? Maybe that’s tonight on ET. I don’t really care tho as we hae seen enough sneak previews here.
I did watch a gameshow by Rob Cesternino last night and it had Ian and Matt on it. Ian keeps SAYING that he is in sequester, which obviously can’t be true. I really thought he was going to be on this season but if he’s on cam talking away last night, maybe not. Wouldn’t they BE in sequester by now?? They kept a running joke about Eric Stein not being reachable so I wonder if he’s going to be on?? Expect the Unexpected this year seems to be the key!!!

Big Brother 16′s Twist:
•2 Head Of Household’s (HOH’s)
•Each HOH will nominate 2 House Guests (4 Total) for eviction each week.
•A Brand NEW Competition named “Battle of the Block” where the HOHs won’t be 100% safe. Just because you are HOH doesn’t mean you’re safe due to the new competition.
•MORE interaction / Voting from the viewers this season. There will be a new interactive twist called “Team America” that will allow America to influence the game like never before.
it looks like the house will be split up into two teams, hence the Two-Memory walls. There will be 2 house guests that win HOH – One from each team. The HOH’s then battle it out in the “Battle of the Block” Competition to determine who wins and that house guest will be able to remove the 2 nominees from their team and the nominees that HOH nominated will stay.The winner of the battle will remain as HOH and keep their nominations. The loser of the battle will be dethroned and be in threat of being a replacement nominee if the Power of Veto (POV) is used.

The fight off between HOH’s is called the Battle of the Block and here is how it works.
Battle of the Block explained (sort of, with logic and some chewing gum to hold it together)
The two winners of HOH make their nominations. If we factor in two separate teams within the house it stands to reason that each HOH will nom the other teams players, equaling 4 on the block.
Now comes the Battle. The two HOH face off against each other in a comp. The winner gets to keep his noms from the other side of the house the same AND has his players removed from the block leaving only two noms on the block from the losing HOH side.
The loss forces the losing HOH to have his/her protection removed and he/she can become a replacement on the block if veto is won and used.
Complicated.

I appreciate the info from everyone about the twist. Seems a little strange and I don’t understand how it can go on for any length of time. I agree with many of you that the twists sometime seem geared toward helping specific players. I don’t like that. Play your best game and either win or lose on your own merits.

I love it! The show hasn’t even started and the whining has already begun.
Don’t judge a book by it’s cover till you have opened it and taken a look. The new twists just might work and be fun. I know everyone wants BB to be just like when they first watched (like a lot of Survivor fans), but that would just be the same thing over with new faces.

And, while we’re on the subject of twists, I think the only season that didn’t have any twists at all was the first one. (I could be wrong because I was only 14 at the time and, even though I watched a lot of it, I was not necessarily paying really close attention to anything beyond boys and dance lessons.) And, if I remember correctly, that season was really boring! Lol.
