Big Brother 18: Welcome To The Darkness

Well, it’s happened!

The votes have been cast. A houseguest has been evicted. The feeds are down until late Friday. I assume that there will be no HoH until the identity of the returning houseguest has been determined.

Tonight’s episode was pretty simple. Julie swore to us, at the start of the show, that the HGs had been flipping and strategizing up until the start of the live show.

And that was kind of a true but not really. Only two HGs had been flipping and strategizing. Bridgette and Frank were planning on voting to evict Da’Vonne but, last night, Frank finally realized that all the other HGs were lying to him when they said they would consider joining him. Frank realized that the vote was going to be 6-2 to evict Tiffany so he decided that he and Bridgette should make the vote 8-0.

And so, Tiffany became our first unanimous eviction. While talking to Julie, Tiffany said that if she could play the game again, she wouldn’t be so emotional.

Hey, Tiffany! Here’s an idea! If you play the game again, don’t immediately turn against the people who spent an entire week plotting to keep you in the house! If you get a second chance, don’t openly declare your allegiance to the most hated person in the house! Don’t run around bragging about how you’ve just betrayed everyone! Seriously, Big Brother is not that complicated.

Tiffany’s mistake wasn’t being emotional. Tiffany’s mistake was not having any common sense!

Anyway, the other big news is that the Roadkill is over and so are the teams. Did anyone else notice the look of pure panic that crossed Bridgette’s face when Julie announced that the team twist is over? If she or Frank want immunity, they’re going to have to either win HoH or the power of veto.

(I know Bridgette has won both HoH and the veto but, in both cases, it seemed more like the result of dumb luck than any real skill on her part.)

With Tiffany voted out, the 8 Pack is officially dead. For that matter, so is the Fatal Five. It’s going to be a totally different game when the feeds come back.

I can’t wait!

Hey Julie…I mean Lisa!!! lol I love Nicole but her whiney Hey Julie always makes my ears ring!!! 😉
I heard from Jokers et al that the HOH will be Sunday. The returnee will get a chance to compete in the HOH. And earlier the guys were thinking it might be the WALL comp. I’m thinking it’s about time for that too.

I actually thot I saw/heard sort of a collective intake of air among all the HGS when they heard that their security blankets…aka the groups…were being disbanded. Keep in mind many didn’t really know the game before they came in and now they re going to be forced to play for themselves and I think they are all scared to death! So it really should be interesting! Every HG for himself and an evicted HG infiltrating their little cocoon!!! Sometimes I wonder why we even watch the first month of the show. It never gets good until jury. But we’re addicts..what can we say??? lol

PS I think I am going to go thru BBAD/LF withdrawl tonight!!!! lol

Finally that Team Twist is over! Every man/woman for themselves. Never was a fan of the Roadkill comp. We never really knew who exactly won the comp. All the loopholes to keep the returning players safe are gone. It might actually be good old Big Brother for a few weeks….till they do something else to screw with the game. I get they gotta spice it up but man, it’s like changing Coke to New Coke (for us that remember that from the 80’s). Just leave it alone! 😀

I have a feeling it will be an endurance comp as well. Haven’t really had one, since that weird team rocket ship sitting thing on Day 1. My only hope is they actually play it now that all their asses are on the line. No deals, nobody throwing it, go all out because it might be you that’s going out the door. Remember when that was how it went for the majority of the players? I get there’s a certain strategy to throwing comps, and only winning them when you have to, but I’m just tired of it. I want some real competition!

I think I’m rooting for Tiffany to return, win HOH and get Da’vonne out, strictly based on her “in your face” goodbye message. I know she’s trying to be cute or funny but it’s just so short sighted and the EXACT type of thing I love to see bite players in the ass. Da’vonne can’t win anything so she’s a perfect target for next week.

Oh and lastly….sorry, I ramble on….I can’t help it! How horribly predictable are the BB edits this episode? Gee…..the house is going to vote out Tiffany but wait…..Da’vonne is now public enemy #1. Edit shows her making miscue after miscue, DR’s show players worried about her, other edits show players discussing how they can’t trust her. As soon as I saw how that was going I was like, “Oh so BB production wants me to think Da’vonne is going home. That means it’s definitely going to be Tiffany. So clever BB, you really had me for a second. Pfffft!” It reminded me of when Frank won the Roadkill and came in saying some line about Christmas didn’t come in July or whatever, implying he lost when he won. Everyone KNEW he won from that comment. I know they gotta craft a storyline but come on, what happened to this show?

Again, yes….I love BB, yes I’ll never stop watching it. Yes, I’ll continue to pick it apart like we all do…..it’s part of the fun! 😀

Bob……..Paul cut Paulies hair…can’t you tell?? Now they are twins!!! lol I hate it too. I think Paul thinks he looks great, little ego freak that he is, so he assumes anyone would like it! Either that or he is stone cold jealous of Paulie’s looks and wanted to try sabotage them!;)

And Da is a brat and more! I hope Tiff does come back in and she gets her revenge on Da! Karma is a B*TCH girl!!! lol girl!!!

Bobo, I too do not understand what was Paulie thinking when he cut his hair. I think it looks awful! I guess I don’t understand the reasoning behind shaving the side of your head and leaving the rest of your hair looking really weird. My husband was a Marine, so he liked for me to shave his head, but I shaved it all !! 😕😕😕😕

Sirrock……..I do get the Coke reference!!lol And I honestly don’t think I realized that the HGs threw comps that much until S10 with Dan. He threw every single one of them until he needed not to anymore and then he surprised the heck out of all of us! But now I think they feel like that is a strategy that,even if they don’t really j=know WTH they are doing, they can pull off…lol And AFTER ALL.Dan DID IT AND won SO IT MUST WORK!! I don’t like it either and I agree. Let’s start seeing some real game play!!!

Speaking of Production intererence,I was reading some of the extra curricular Joker stuf, which goes retty deep as it turns out, and I guess they had to shoot the hair flip thing like 3 times! We got the watered down version on TV last night! I guess they didn’t want to portray Da having that nasty a mouth. And if you remember, Tiff was sitting way over to the side and Naat was holding Da’s leg trying to calm her down. I wondered because I had read and heard about it beforehand, the when THAT was it, I was like HUH??? That is SO not what happened!! But then the Kardashians are almost scripted so what do we expect. There really ARE no REALITY shows!!

And *Same*, as MEECH would say, to your last line! As long as we stick to picking apart the HGS…and not each other!!!!! 😉

Sirrock July 22, 2016 at 2:19 am: I read all the details about the “hair flip heard ’round the world” and it sounded like it was quite a scene, then they show it and it was like, “That’s it??” Then Tiff in the DR demanding expulsion, but they show her laughing off the hair flip thing in the DR? I don’t know what all happened there, but something seems off, for sure.

People have been throwing comps since Dr. Will did it in Season 2. He threw comps, was lying and hated by mostly everyone, on the block non stop, and still won due to his manipulation. I just think back to the the great endurance comps, like Evel Dick and whoever finished in 3rd place that year, holding the key in the backyard with freezing cold water being poured on them for like 5 hrs. THAT’S a endurance comp. I get that had some pretty high stakes so they all really had to go for it, but I just miss that fight. I suppose it will happen later in the season, I hope.

The one with Dan in BB14 for part 1 of the HOH comp for the final 3 where he basically talked Ian and Danielle into throwing it to him and it was over in like 15 min. I mean, yeah, that’s pretty damn great too, master manipulation, but I just wanna see this cast push themselves for once. That’s all.

Oh and my favorite line, maybe it was in Wed’s episode or tonight, I forget. James was talking to maybe Paulie and all the Tiff/Da drama was heating up. James says, “I’m gonna lay low this week.”…..THIS WEEK??? hahaha….more like this entire season! I know he made a big move last year putting up Shelli and Clay and I guess you could say that was part of the reason he got evicted….so I get laying low. I just wish there wasn’t so much of it going around, that’s all.

Great comment everyone! You said it all … I have little to add. I watched the entire RNC Convention tonight … from 7:30 p.m. until almost midnight, so I watched BB after that! My eyes are soooooo tired! I will say goodnight all. I am very eager to see the “Battle Back” comp. I still think it would be funny if Tiffany won. Just my twisted Sense of humor. Star; I’m begging you in advance to warn me about Merc Rec. The last time it happened I was texting my BF about looking for another job and sent it to my boss at 10pm. Not good. Not terribly professional either.

Lisa Marie; I love your posts. I’ve encouraged a few fans of the show to sign up for the blog to keep caught up by reading your entertaining analysis of the show. I know I always enjoy it.

I do hope Da’ leaves the house very, very soon and I wish Tiffany was returning. At first I liked the “new” Da’ until she revealed she was just the old one under another layer, which quickly peeled off. Paulie made a mistake tonight, Da’ is more dangerous in this game than Tiff. Tiffany could be a very loyal ally, Da’Vonne will never be that. She’s in this for herself completely.

Watching the evicted house guests tonight just proved to me that the mini-Messiah cannot change either. He’s too full of himself and far too self-entitled. Glenn, blahh; Victor, a comp beast for physical; Bronte, sigh; Tiffany, I really would like the Tiff I saw this week return and flip the house a little.

The first thing I thought when I saw Bridgette’s face when Julie announced the end of playing in teams was “Floaters grab a life vest!”

One thing I didn’t see any comments on, my apologies if I missed them, what was with Nicole sobbing uncontrollably with Corey on the block! She entered the house saying she lost the last game over a boy and she had learned her lesson. Along comes Corey and smiles at her and she throws her game away! He’s not that smart, honey. Or that good looking. He’s nice looking, but she really lost it at the very thought of him going home! She is acting ridiculously over someone who doesn’t seem that interested in her. But I do think James and Natalie are cute. Don’t know why, probably just because he’s so gentlemanly and unassuming and she’s a pretty, but ditzy, girl who really seems to like him. I actually hope they work.

friends. Came home with a headache from the too loud music.
So settled in for the convention speeches. Great night.

have seen it. Will go and try to watch BBAD without going to

I think it is cool they let everyone hear and see the good bye comments so they know where thy are if they do come back in.. Out of the 5 evicted houseguests Tiffany would definitely make the best difference in the game. Maybe production will interfere to make it happen. The other 4 evictions are as bad as what is left in the house now. I liked Frank and Tiffany together. Frank is smooth operator and Tiffany is smart and is not afraid to shake things up. She just made some mistakes.

Dont like Paulie. Him and Paul…Bromance maybe?

Thank you Lisa, always appreciate your insight and update to BB. The convention happened and BB wasn’t on. Luckily, I kept checking every 15 or so minutes and I only missed about 10 mins of the beginning.

I actually liked Roadkill and especially the fact that we knew who won and they didn’t. The problem was whoever won couldn’t keep their big mouth shut so the house was in suspense. I think that was the point but oh well. I guess I just like the fact that the HGs didn’t know who won. I like that concept and maybe they can do something along those lines but not have it add a person for eviction.

So happy Tiff is gone and, I agree with Bob, that good bye speech was just plain bitchy. She’s digging, or has shes already dug, her own hole. I wasn’t impressed by any of the ‘battle back’ little videos. Glenn disappointed, Josea boring, Victor obsessed with himself & Bronte will get mean. Really folks, this is what we have to look forward to. If I had to choose, it would be between Victor and Tiff. God help me.

Paulie’s hair looks like crap to me. Why would anyone want a hair cut like Paul? Bridgette is just too cutsy. She moves around like she has ants in her pants with all her wiggling. Annoying. One thing Da is right about is getting rid of the couples but she was just dumb to talk to James about it. However, since they’re are three couples, they could form their own alliance and wipe everyone else out.

Paulie is sexy..but the buzzed sides dont add to his sexyness…wear a hat, I say! LOL….Bridgette is beyond annoying, as is Natalie. Please. I dont wany ANY of the 5 evicted to come back. Disliked Victor, his personality ruined his attractivness for me. Hated Jozea..Bronte..I guess the best pick for me. Dont care for Tiffany’s crying gameplay..she is a nutcase like her sister. A dumber version. Glenn left so soon he really knows no one and would be ostrasized and going out the door fast.

Hi everyone! I read the blog consistently however this my first time posting! I am so excited that Tiffany is gone! Her hats and sunglasses were about to get the best of me! Reminds me too much of her sister! I am just hoping she does not make it back into the house!! Last night I thought it was too cute when Natalie professed her “like” for James! I have to say he is one of my favorite players of all time. He just brings so much fun to the house, it’s not all gloom and doom! I hope he stays for awhile. Pauli is playing a good game of his own as well. I didn’t like Paul at first but he is growing on me. Cory and Nicole are doing pretty good as well. I’m still on the fence about Da’vonne. Don’t care anything about Frank or cabbage patch girl. Z is holding her own kind of, while the rest…eh. the jury us still out.

question. In the past were the HGs not told they could not change
their appearance while in the house. I think I remember someone
wanting to change their hair color and were told they couldn’t.

Sirrock July 22, 2016 at 5:34 pm: Evel Dick talked about the new look for Paulie on Twitter last night. I guess they can do whatever they want, but they need to get permission from the DR and they can only do it before the live show. That’s like a “new week” so to speak, so they can edit things and not have any continuity issues. So if someone shaves a beard or changes their hair, it will happen on Thursday before the live show.

I’ve also heard talk online about them being told to put on the shirt they wore on a specific day to do DR sessions so it jives with the edit better. Could be 2 days later and they’ll tell them to dig out that dirty shirt to wear for a quick DR session. Ewwww…. hahaha!

Sherry …the not changing their appearance is pretty much week to week so if they need to retape something that was done earlier in the week. On Thursdays they usually let them shave, cut or dye their hair, etc

Yeah! Victor gets to come back!! So happy! And I agree, Paulie’s haircut is just plain awful! I hope V can make some moves this time. And Natalie and James are my fav couple – I think they are both sincere and I’m looking fwd to seeing their relationship blossom in front of our eyes!

My guess is Victor will be the next evicted houseguest. Most returning houseguests get booted immediately after they return. I think I even heard Frank talking about the buyback player needs to be sent packing immediately. Of course since Frank said it, the group may not want to follow his suggestion. Wonder if Paul will welcome Victor back with open arms or stick with his current arrangement?

Oh, and the term “buyback”….that’s some dumb Frankie term he made up for a returning HG. Not bagging on you for using it, but it’s just a pet peeve of mine since I pretty much despised Frankie. I can’t believe it even caught on, but he did say it so much, he had the whole cast using it. Ugh….the ghost of Frankie still haunts us. 😉

I’m sorry Victor is coming back in, he was to full of himself and will be bounced after the get Da’Vonne gets the boot. The couples are fun and telling James they should go will be the spark that 6 may have to find a way to get her out. Bridgette and frank I find annoying and wish the double eviction will happen soon. Michelle may be a better player than she was in the beginning, she will be something if she was HOH!

So they’re doing the HOH comp that James threw so Victor would get put up…..I wonder if they’re just going to do the comps that happened while they were out of the house, but in a one on one battle format? I’m going to guess they had to pre-tape some of these just for set up and a bit of rest for the ones playing the first comps? Hope it lives up to all the hype!

I was hoping Tiff would come back – even though I was 100% for her eviction – just because of the childish good-bye message from DaVonne. I really don’t like that kind of pay back. Be gracious, why don’t you? It can’t be that hard. Or maybe for DaVonne it is.

Welcome to all the new posters. You will all be so happy here and we are all happy you have joined up! Lisa is our fearless leader who keeps us together and informed. Go, Lisa!

Because Frank has had a rude awakening about his (to him) elevated position in the house, he may jump on Victor’s return as a new alliance and try to structure a new high command with him. I think Victor will go willingly with Frank as he realizes his play before eviction was all wrong. Paul may not be able to resume their former “friendship” as this time Victor will want to play it differently. Just a guess.

That haircut of Paulie’s is just a fad. I’ve seen it on other reality shows, and I think a version of it was popular during Prohibition. Everything old is new again.

Speaking of Prohibition, I haven’t noticed a glut of alcohol being provided to the houseguests since the first. Maybe I’ve missed something, but these people seem to be even more annoying when booze is present.

I can hardly wait to see BBAD tonight and see the HGs take to their
corners and revamp their schemes. I, kinda wish Tiff had won so
that I could see the shock on Da’s face. Her ugliness towards others
is just like her other season. It will come back to bite her. I guess the
one thing that always holds true in the house is the longer you stay
the more of your true self comes out. Let the games begin!
