Big Brother 19 — Roid Rage Strikes The House

Hi y’all!

So, I just finished watching the second episode of Big Brother 19.  Tonight, we learned the identity of the first HoH and we saw who he nominated for eviction.  We also learned a little bit more about the houseguests.

For instance, I am actually starting to like Kevin.  I thought he was kind of creepy when I first saw him but tonight, I loved the fact that, while everyone else was going crazy over Nicole showing up, Kevin was just sitting in the lounge.  Even when he finally got up and went to see Nicole, he didn’t seem to be quite sure who she was.  You gotta love the grumpy old men.

I cringed a little when Nicole showed up because, to be honest, I had enough of her last season.  Then again, the previous winner always comes back to host at least one competition so I guess it’s good that they got it out of the way early.  For once, Nicole managed to enter and leave the house without getting involved in a showmance.  Good for her.

One consistent theme developed during tonight’s episode: Josh is insane and a little bit frightening.  I assume that they do psychological testing before sending people into the house but apparently, Josh beat the system.  Not only was he crying after only being in the house for less than a day but he also got it into his head that everyone — especially Megan — was out to get him.  Even worse, he ran around yelling that everyone was out to get him.  During the HoH comp, he grabbed the golden apple, which means that he’ll be safe for this week at least.  Josh proceeded to yell that he wasn’t going anywhere.  Josh may be safe but now he has a huge target on his back for week 2.

To be honest, I wouldn’t be surprised if Josh lost control and ended up getting expelled from the house.  He seems to be seriously unstable.  Even if he does calm down, he’s pretty much assured that no one is going to want to work with him.  Roid Rage Josh’s days are numbered.

The HoH comp was won by Cody.  I kinda liked Cody at first but, as soon as he won HoH, that all ended.  The power went straight to his head.  His plan is to start an alliance that will be made up of him, Mark, Matthew, Christmas, Elena, Dominique, Raven, and Jessica.  What Cody doesn’t seem to understand is that the only reason that everyone is kissing up to him is because he’s HoH.

Cody has bragged about his social game.  Apparently, he has overestimated his charm.  During the HoH comp, he told someone, “Get out of my way, loser.”  And then, when he announced his nominations, he made one of the worst nominating speeches in Big Brother history.  When he nominated Megan for eviction, he told her, “I just don’t like you that much.”  Now, on the one hand, that is more honest than doing the usual “You’re a strong competitor” thing.  But seriously, people remember when you act like a jerk during your HoH reign.  And if Cody’s not careful, he could find himself being targeted next week.

The nominees are Megan and Jillian.  Megan was nominated because no one in the house appears to like her and Jillian was nominated … well, I’m not sure why.  Just because.  Cody has said that, if either Megan or Jillian is taken off the block, Paul will be the replacement nominee.  If Cody doesn’t try to backdoor Paul, he’s a fool.  Paul is a way bigger threat than either Megan or Jillian.

What does everyone think about the cast so far?  Any favorites?  Anyone you just can’t stand?  My favorites are still Elena and Raven and my least favorite … well, you can probably guess.  The sooner Josh goes the better.
