Big Brother 19 — Worst Episode Ever

Hi y’all:

I just finished watching Friday’s recap episode and I’m just going to say it:

That was, without a doubt, the worst episode of Big Brother that I’ve ever seen.

Recap episodes are always kinda rough but this recap episode was seriously beyond bad. Some of that’s because these aren’t exactly the most interesting houseguests in the history of the game but even more of it is because the stuff that everyone watching the show is talking about is not necessarily the stuff that production wants to highlight. For instance, every showmance got a segment except for Matt and Raven. Ramses crush on Matt got a segment. Matt’s cereal obsession got a segment. Raven got nothing, largely because she’s become the least popular houseguest in the history of Big Brother and I think production would rather pretend that she’s not in the house.

We also didn’t see much of Paul, which I found surprising.

We did get Josh beating the pots and pans, which was just annoying. And we got some super long segments with Cody and Jessia and Mark and Elena. But nothing extremely interesting.

Before Derrick arrived, it was a little interesting watching Paul and Mark go at it. My favorite part was when Josh started to speak and both Christmas and Paul yelled at him at the same time. If you ever needed evidence of how the houseguests view Josh, that was it right there.

Otherwise, I can’t believe the live feeds were down for this. Even worse, this episode ended without showing us who the new HoH is!

The online rumor, by the way, is that Christmas is the new HoH. I guess we’ll find out for sure at midnight, when the feeds come back.

Only one left for me to root for was Mark and if Christmas did win HOA I do believe he will be one of her picks. I would hope for her to make a big move. But…

Thanks Lisa, I was so bored I left the room for fifteen minutes at least during the show and came back during the commercial.
The show if you want to call it that favored Paul…no surprise. Too bad derrick didn’t stay. Paul was freaking out.

Listening to Josh chased me out of the room.

God he just makes me cringe!! If Paul didn’t want him as bait he would have been gone weeks ago. Pity. lol

i like mark. He wins competitions ,but the other housguests sucks they are all annoying. I hate paul he is a bully with no morals the season is better without him . Also there is two many twists in the game that made this season of big brother the worst season ever

tonight was a waste of my time. if Xmas did win then she will do exactly what ever Paul wants her to do. She talked a big game tonight about getting a big target out but if that is Mark then it is a Paul’s hoh again and so boring for me. Mark has none at this point so they re much bigger targets in the game like Alex and Paul.

I’m glad I caught your review. It will save me the time of watching the show (it starts in 5 minutes here in Arizona). This season, is by far, the worst ever in terms of the contestants. I liked Jessica and hoped she would go far. Paul and Alex are such scum bags….sheesh. Add Josh, the biggest crybaby in BB history…and well, pretty much everyone left in the house, and WOW! What a bunch of people I am glad I have never known.

I’ve been wondering how Christmas is able to navigate the steps up to the HOH room on crutches. Maybe Jason should carry her. : )

Bruce August 19, 2017 at 7:44 pm: Several years ago I had a major break in my foot (I was helping move a washing machine down stairs and it fell onto my foot – major ouch!!) and had to deal with stairs a lot. Christmas appears to be a pretty strong woman and I am sure she can manage. If nothing else, she could sit on the steps and go backwards pushing herself up one step at a time.
You know the thing that bothers me the most so far? Is how many fans Paul has. That boggles my mind. With everything he has done, people seem to still like him. They must have also voted for Tweetie Bird Trump. Hmmmm

I wonder if Christmas believes Paul will take her to the end? Actually I’m wondering if each of his minions think they are the ones he’s taking.
Paul wants Kevin gone and I thought she was friends with Kevin. I wonder how that will play out.

I think Paul has a F2 with just about everyone that’s left. He’s trying to get people worked up over Kevin talking to Cody because he needs a reason to start getting people out of the house. Poor Kevin thinks they’re actually personal friends. Paul is going to end up double crossing and pissing off everyone. He better hope he gets to the end before they catch on!!

What a disappointing show! The best part was seeing Cody and Jessica. They re really cute together. I wish Derrick would of given the house a hint of how terrible they really are. His tweets on twitter say a lot about his dislike for this season but he played it off acting like he was fond of everyone. This season can’t end soon enough for me. There’s always hope that next summer will be better ☹️

When the show first started tonight, In had high hopes that Derrick would be more like zingbot, telling it like it is! I think he wimped out. Maybe CBS had something to do with that? Ya think???
I, too was really hoping Derrick would start playing the game! It was worth it just to see Paul’s reaction!! 😊
I am hoping, hoping, HOPING that the rumor about Christmas (boy,she was sure misnamed!) winning HOH was just a rumor!! 😕
I guess we will have to watch a few minutes of BBAD to see who is the new HOH!

Lisa. Didn’t expect a blog after that mess so this was a pleasant surprise. 😊
That whole bullying seen with Mark was very uncomfortable. Mark doesn’t owe Paul
Any explanation about what he said to Jason . Or anyone!!! And Jason was listening and thinking about it but backed away from Mark like he had Leprosy!! I just don’t think bullying exclusively is a respectable way to play BB. He even said he can’t believe that no one has tried to put his butt on the block. So he can’t blame anyone for at least thinking about it. Smh
I want Happy to see Derruck ALtho he didn’t have much to work with. Lol. But I was bummed not to see the comp tonight. It’s been sooooooo drawn out!!!! I think Christmas feels close to Paul since they were hooked together. I wish someone would start thinking for themselves!! Or maybe they’re just that stupid and lazy!! Let’s hope Julie’s twist is HUGE!!!! Lpl

Yea, we get DVD’s, CD’s like you said you can get really good stuff. i will always go to the thrifts first, you get brand new clothes, new with original tags dresses 5.99 was original 110.00 you can’t beat that. cool t-shirts, I never buy shoes there though.

Yea, Daddy’s girl, actually he’s pretty cool himself, he’s gotta good eye for thing’s. Plus he is a chef, and OCD for House Cleaning ! And good to me.
BUT ~~~~~ Tomorrow I gotta do his toe nails, I don’t mind besides he is a diabetic, so I take care of them, have for many years now. I notice, sometimes he will ask me to put his socks on, and sometimes pull them off, lol. I love so much. 🙂

When Lisa said this was the worst episode, I made up my mind right then not to watch what I recorded. I haven’t liked anything I’ve already seen well enough to want to see it again.

If Paul screws everyone he arranges to be sent to jury, I’d hope they wouldn’t vote for him to win. He’s a hairy little devil but doesn’t have hair on his chest or back. Or legs that I can see. Maybe all those tattoos killed the follicles.

Did you see the look on Paul’s face when Alex blurted out that Jason is her Ride or Die!? He literally took a double take. I wouldn’t be surprised if Paul targets those two next.

Paul also briefly had that same expression until Derrick put them at ease that he was not moving into the house but the bag had them all going temporarily especially Paul.

Yes Doris I did see that ! And the show tonight was a let down . And I was hoping Derrick would call them out on being bullies . The sad thing is at first l liked Jason and now he is just as bad as Paul and Alex along with Josh , oh and don’t let me forget Xmas , also for turning on Kevin . However Kevin should have stepped up and played his own moves as to voting out who he wanted instead of following the leader of the pack. And he should have been trying to win some competitions and never trusted Paul about winning the money.

I guess I’m the only one who actually enjoyed the show tonight. I agree with Star that it was hard to watch Paul bullying Mark but it exposed Paul for who he is as Chief Bully. Up to this point he has been getting favorable edits and now he’s unquestionably exposed!! I thought it was very interesting that both Raven and Christmas were totally ignored. I wonder what is going through their heads right now. Zingbot will take care of what Derrick was unable to say tonight.

My radar may be malfunctioning but I will stick my neck out anyway and predict that Christmas is going to backdoor Paul. She’s cunning smart and knows that she will be the heroine if she takes him down.

Star August 19, 2017 at 4:45 am: I enjoyed it too Junksies!! I didn’t think it was bad for a filler show. It was good to see Derrick. Looked like he’d gained some weight. Too bad it was so scripted tho.
As far as Paul goes, it will have to be Christmas or Alex or Mark. But this could be Christmas’ last HOH, you never know. And I don’t think she’s ready yet.
Alex might get the nerve if she has Jason but she’s pretty far up Paul’s butt!
Mark needs to get past this week first, which will be tough. But he needs voters too. Is anyone really smart enough to pull it off??
I saw Julie say that it was Paul’s game to lose. Someone better wake up soon!!

I also have thought Christmas was just waiting for the right opportunity to backdoor Paul. If she doesn’t she will probably lose the opportunity because Paul is cataloging all of his info and starting to strike others. I wonder what she said her reasoning was for the two she put up? I agree that Mark is too predictable as a backdoor.

She asked Matt and he didn’t know…good grief are theses five years old? I think I knew when I was ten. I was always curious about everything and asked my mom lots of questions. Oldest of four and watching her breast feed my siblings. I couldn’t wait to have babies and nurse them. But the thought of sex scared me and grossed me out. I knew my mom would never do that but pretty much knew my dad would.

Well, I tried to turn in early tonight, but couldn’t sleep, so I want
to ask a question that’s been bothering me. Did anyone else hear
X-mas say that she only had (told the number of days) until her
cast came off and then she’d get the boot? She would start therapy
and then start running again? She told them she would not be
able to ever compete again due to the damage to her foot and cried
when she first got the diagnosis and came back into the house.
She told them she was going to have three days of therapy a week,
but she can’t have any therapy until the cast is off. She hasn’t been
honest about her injury. But maybe I heard wrong. Does anyone else
remember these things?

Sherry. I heard that too. I think she said a week until her boot last week. So maybe Mon? I can’t believe they are going to let her go out everyday for therapy. But then I couldn’t believe they let her stay in the first place! you’d think they’d have back up HGS. Like an under study. Lol
She did stay she was going to start running right away. Not sure how. I’ve been wondering why she hasn’t at least been doing weights? She can sit and do those. It’s like she wanted an excuse not to exercise!! Lol

This season is now just a waste of time. I am so sick of these reality shows where all the really good players are always outnumbered by a bunch of untalented, bottom suckers that gang up and control the house. It is so scripted and you end up with a bunch of losers that I can’t stand to watch. This show is now in the dumps. Who really cares who is at the end. They really don’t belong there at all.

Sherry… Last week I read where Christmas said in three weeks her cast is coming off to be replaced with a boot and that she should be able to run in about 3 weeks. That would mean 2 weeks from now she should be able to run. According to her… but I doubt it because it’s too soon to be running. She may have made that statement as part of her strategy to psychologically screw with the other houseguests.

Regarding the therapy… I recall that she was supposed to have therapy 3 times a week and must have made the mistake assuming that it was going to start immediately. There’s no way she can have therapy when she has a cast on. Therapy will start much later down the line.

Honestly with her injury I think there are too many variables and it depends on the healing properties of the individual. The doctor has probably laid out worst/best case scenarios. I do remember her saying that she may not be able two compete again.

two: A happy birthday belated or to come! I never understood
exactly what she does. Does she compete in some kind of
physical marathon or does she body build or compete in some
other physical way? She’s told so many conflicting stories I’m

two… she was crying about the inability to compete ever again professionally. And her remaining on the show has been my pet peeve the entire season… She should have been kicked out right after she broke her foot. Don’t get me started about that!! 😁 Happy birthday wishes to you! It sure seems like there’s a lot of August birthdays both in and out of the house this year. I recall like three shout outs from the house guests while in the Dr to family members.

Bbad is pretty boring tonight. The houseguests were only allowed to have 2 hours of sleep last night. BB let them go to sleep at 6am and up at 8am. Paul is sleeping in Christmas’ HOH bed as if it’s his own and he’s planting seeds of doubt in her head regarding Kevin. It’s amazing to watch him spin his web each week to snag the next victim. It will really surprise me if Christmas just lets him run the show. I will be shocked if she forfeits her power to him. If she does she’s obviously not the bada$$ she claims to be.

Is it just me or has anybody else noticed that BB is subtly changing competitions away from physical to more mental?

I would have sworn they usually have a mental and the endurance for dbl evict. And usually the second one goes to LFS after the show. So shocked they stretched it out like this. The purpose of the DE is things go fast and hard! This has been really weird going over 2 days and having a guest. But then what about this year has been normal?? Lol

Sending a belated happy birthday to Grandma Kathy, Junksies and Two.
I have a question since I no longer watch the feeds. I saw a lot of negative comments about Cody walking over the table when he was evicted and I thought personally it was very effective and fitting. I also so a counter post where the said Paul and his minions deliberately blocked him so he had no choice. I did note that Paul’s feet were stretched halfway across the table and didn’t move an inch. If true it’s not bad enough how the treated him during the game but added insult after he was evicted. If true I have no use for these people without a single doubt.

Junksies August 19, 2017 at 8:18 am: Wisteria… I still had Cody’s eviction on DVR so I went back and checked and you are absolutely right that Paul was blocking Cody by having his feet on the coffee table. It’s funny you should mention that because I remember noticing one foot there and I didn’t think anything about it except that he was nervously shaking his foot but after your post I went back and checked and he put up both feet and it was blatantly deliberate!!!! There were no other guests blocking the pathway. Paul was the only jerk who did this childish act as one last attempt to provoke Cody to what end is anybody’s guess. It must be awful to be him carrying around such bitter animosity and hatred as he does. Thank you for sharing this bit of information and for BD wish.

I often see posts of Paul before the beard and at that time he seemed to have eyes with heart and soul. Now I only see meanness in his eyes. I wonder if I just imagine that?
I’m hoping Mark doesn’t get evicted this week so he has a chance to get Paul out. Only thing is if he actually got that far these people would still save Paul.
Yesterday I happened on a Rob has a podcast on social media. 21 hours ago. It was 2 men discussing Paul and the koolaid. They referred to other instances on survivor and BB. One name mentioned was Boston Rob. It was about how these people can manage this much power over others. If anyone can find that it is totally worth watching.

I heard Cmas and Josh talking after mark actually blamed his game on Cody, then Elana , kept putting himself down ….then mutt and jeff =josh and Cmas said they were still voting him out. I have no respect for mark though I like him. At least Cody never bowed down to the others like mark is doing.

I have a full day, so this will probably be my only real post until much later in the day.
Paul blocking Cody’s exit is prime Paul. I can’t think of one decent
thing he’s done this entire season. But the hilarious part of his
petty actions is that Cody managed to just make Paul look like the
smaller person each and every time. He didn’t plan on Cody’s quick
agility to just walk across the table. He never understood how Cody
doesn’t like to play games that go against his core values. So he
outsmarted him with silence which frustrated the heck out of Paul.
He refused to play Paul’s minion games. Paul may have succeeded
in getting Cody out of the house, but he lost most of the battles
leading up to that point, simply because Cody’s basic honesty
was something he didn’t understand and felt terribly threatened
by.
Has anyone noticed how X-mas uses her crutches for prime time
comps and DR sessions that will be shown on Prime Time viewing
like votes, but whizzes around the house on her scooter most of the
rest of the time? She even used it when tied to Paul and manages to bring that scooter up those awful stairs. I think she’s playing to her base for sympathy. It will be interesting to see how therapy is
worked out for her when the cast comes off. The way they have
catered to her has made it extremely unfair to the other hgs and
can’t imagine why no one has complained. I guess it’s because no
one is really playing for the win, except for Alex and Paul, and they
consider her an ally.
If you want to summarize in poetry what this season has represented try reading “The Snake”.

about the $25k, I hope Kevin is the one to open that locker. He
would take the money in a wink of the eye. He is the only one
who might bring Cody back into the house. The rest of them
might take the money, but would bring Elena back into the house, unless that includes all evicted guests and they could
even choose Jillian or Cameron. All of their choices would be
to help Paul to get closer to the F2.

Not defending Cmas but she leaves the scooter at the bottom of the stairs and lifts herself up each stair then gets on her crutches. The scooter helps her to get around the house faster. I’m sure bb is doing everything to get her foot healed . The scooter would be in the way of the games outside. I’ve been on crutches before. It can rub your arms raw.

Sherry I have never seen Christmas carry the scooter up the stairs! She usually keeps her crutches at the bottom of the stairway and either scoots up on her butt or hops up. I’ve seen her use her walker upstairs.

I don’t understand why PROD is encouraging outright bullying and poor sportsmanship – the entire season! Victims were Cody/Jessica and Mark/Elena for the most part. Kevin doesn’t do much of it, so props to him but the others are HORRIBLE PEOPLE…..clap when people lose? Harass people? Make fun of people? Attack them personally? Paul is the ringmaster and I hope HE goes down as the most EVIL and nasty person in BB history – those eyes, that stare……if he wins the $$$ then I am never watching this show again. Of course, I don’t want anyone else to win either other than maybe KEVIN if he survives to the end for which he won’t!

Should’nt be so ” mean” ( as in ) going against the crowd..calling bad behavior out, etc. Actually, I find it funny..and “par for the course”..most complaining about me are from the older generation…hey I’m 54…but to alot of older women it’s a CRIME to not be “nice”…dont state your mind, etc. I just ignore them , they don’t register as important enough to notice to me. I love this site. Happy belated birthdays Grandma Kathy and Junkies and many more happy healthy ones. I watched the live feeds last night and there was Paul in the hoh running it once again. Xmas will do exactly what he wants her to do. They plan to back door Mark and if he wins veto then Jason is leaving. I thought it was really sad when Paul said that Jason is on a high about his Wife being pregnant[ Jason received the news in a letter when he won hoh] and Paul said it is a good time to take out Jason as he will not care as he is on a high about his baby news how awful is that. Paul made a final five with Xmas Jason Matt and Raven last night and a final three with Josh and Xmas. I had a feeling that he would want to take Josh and Xmas to the end with him. He told them that he will not be seen talking to them as he wants to make Jason and Alex feel comfortable. He told them he is making a final two with Kevin to make him feel safe. It looks like Alex Jason Kevin and Mark are in trouble if they do not wake up and get Paul out of the house but I do not see that happening. Paul also laughed at Mark saying how dumb Mark was to give Paul his save a friend thing that Mark won. Cody will say to Alex and Jason if they walks into the Jury house I told you so but they did not listen. How furious will Alex be if that happens but Paul will spin it to her in his favor that it was not him and that he wanted to be able to take her to the final two with him. Unfortunately that is how I see this all playing out at this pointI I hope I am wrong and if that happens that Xmas and Josh will not take Paul with them if they have the chance at the end. Have a great weekend everyone.

You’re definitely right about this being the worst episode. This was the only episode of Big Brother I have ever fallen asleep during. The last thing I remember was them showing Ramses crush on Matt. Then somewhere during the commercial I dosed off. Not even sure it’s worth trying to go back and finish it.

I’m really glad to know that I’m not the only one who thinks this is the season of bullies. I guess the “fame” of his 1st season went to Paul’s head, because he has been the biggest *sshat I’ve ever seen on the show (and that’s saying a LOT). I kinda hope Kevin wins the whole thing. If it’s anyone besides him or Mark at this point I’m not sure I will even bother watching to the end.

AC August 19, 2017 at 9:45 pm: Kevin is cool and all. I like the way he talks. And he’s funny too (Got more necklaces than 2 Chainz). But I just can’t make a case for him to win this game. At least not yet. He needs to do something. JS.
