Big Brother 20: Putting The Bro In Big Brother

Hi y’all!

So, yesterday, they finally did the veto competition.  From what we’ve heard on the feeds, it sounds like it was an intense competition, one that involved electrical shocks, getting sprayed down, and getting extremely dirty.  Faysal won the veto and, ever since, he’s been walking around the house with the veto hanging around his neck.  In fact, he actually slept with the veto.  When he woke up in the morning, he asked JC if he should keep wearing the veto.  JC said, “No,” so Faysal briefly took the veto off.  But, when last I checked, he was wearing it again.

Faysal doesn’t seem to understand that bragging about the veto and constantly wearing it is going to put a target on his back.  In fact, Faysal was just telling Chris that he thinks it’s important to show everyone that he can win any competition.  Apparently, Faysal thinks that will make him safe.  Of course, anyone who has actually seen Big Brother knows how wrong Faysal is.

(I get the feeling that Faysal may not be the smartest houseguest in the history of Big Brother.)

I have to say that, so far, the live feeds have really put the bro in Big Brother.  On one side of the house, you’ve got Chris and Faysal, who are both extremely cocky and convinced that they’re not only going to win every HoH and veto but who also believe that they’re going to be on the Amazing Race after this season ends.  Faysal is upset that Haleigh has been flirting with Tyler.  Chris says he would never let Bayleigh get away with that.  On the other side of the house, you’ve got Winston and Brett who are … well, basically, they’re just like Chris and Faysal.

And, of course, then there’s Tyler.  Tyler is sitting in the HoH room and is still doing a good job of playing both alliances.  Tyler likes to talk to the camera and he says that he doesn’t trust any of the people who are currently claiming to be his best friend.  He says that he understand that they’re only sucking up to him because he’s HoH.  Tyler’s not as dumb as he pretends, though he does seem to be getting a bit too cocky for his own good.

(In fact, cockiness has been an overriding theme of this season, so far.  It’s going to be fun to watch some of these people get blindsided.)

As for what’s going to happen with veto, Faysal has told everyone that he’s not planning on using it.  For some reason, the plan seems to be to vote out Sam.  It’s not so much that anyone in the house feels close to Steve as much as it’s just that no one has gotten a chance to bond with Sam.  She’s been stuck in robot form.

However, it would appear that Sam has won an advantage that will save her.  Though we don’t know for sure what it is, it would appear that she can use it to take herself off the block.  Is it a power to reset the week (which would keep Steve safe, as well) or does it just save her?  Apparently, whatever it is, it’s good for four weeks.  Hopefully, things will become clearer with Sunday’s episode.

Anyway, I’m currently waiting for the veto ceremony.  It’ll either be today or tomorrow.  As of right now, it appears that the nominations will be remaining the same.
