Big Brother Over The Top: Week One Nominations!

Hi, everyone!

Well, it took forever but they finally finished up the two day nomination ceremony! Basically, all of the HGs have been given a safety block that they have hanging on a lanyard around their neck. In the HoH room, Monte has everyone picture on a wall. If he pushes someone’s picture, that causes the block to turn green and that means that HG is safe. On Saturday, five people found out they were safe. On Sunday, five more people found out that they were safe. And that left the final two as the nominees.

Does that seem unnecessarily complicated to anyone? It does to me. I kinda liked the two day long HoH comp but stretching the nomination ceremony to two days is just silly. As well, this creates a ceremony where Monte doesn’t have to face people when he nominates them. Tonight, he was up in the HoH room smirking and pushing buttons while everyone else was down in the kitchen. It lacked the drama of the key ceremony.

ANYWAY, Monte nominated Jason and Danielle. He was going to nominate Kryssie but he changed his mind at the last minute. Jason is definitely his target. After the final button had been pushed, Monte came downstairs and stumbled through his nomination speech. He was pretty incoherent.

Danielle is mad. Jason, on the other hand, is actually taking it pretty well. In fact, the only thing that Jason seems to be upset about is that he doesn’t feel Danielle deserved to be nominated.

Now, there’s going to be a third nominee as well. I don’t think the HGs know this yet. The viewers will be selecting this nominee. On twitter, a lot of Jason’s fans are talking about nominating Cornbread. Me, I’ll probably vote to nominate Shane because Shane has been Monte’s strongest ally.

As you may have guessed, I’m not a fan of Monte’s. He’s like a less handsome version of Paulie.

Thanks Lisa, hope your vacation is going great! I agree with you about Monte. He’s not even half of what he thinks he is! He keeps talking about what a great force to be reckoned with he is but I haven’t seen it yet.

If America’s pick wins veto another person does not replace them on the block. The same person cannot be nominated two weeks in a row by America. All three will play in the veto ceremony.

Hey Lisa. Totally agree about dragging out the Nom ceremony. Takes 5 mins in the show. And the ceremonies give the fans and HGS a little anticipation. Neely was telling Jason she didn’t know this would be so stressful. Ya well after 24hours that’s bound to happen. SMH.

I was so excited to watch it full screen in the TV tonight. Lol. Hadn’t gotten it to not look like a puter screen before this!! 😏
And I figured out how to simplify this. For me anyway. Since I’m not sitting in the LFS at all, I put the live schedule of events on my cell so they buzz when they are on. That way I will know when to watch, if I can. At leDt I feel a little more in control. This BB is hard to keep track of otherwise 😎👍🏻

I agree with you an Margie about Monte. Not a fan. I wonder why he changed his mind about Krissy. She seemed to know as she sat quit and scowling thru the whole thing tonight.
I still don’t get how they are going to handle 3 noms. Seems like overkill.

Star October 2, 2016 at 11:42 pm: Hey Jolee. It’s actually really easy. Only detail I’m not sure of is how my hubby got BB on Roku. I’ll check when he gets up this morning. But after that it’s just like getting Netflix. You use that remote to scroll over to the Web icon. Click on it and the LFS just open up. But I was seeing it as i do in the puter until I clicked the double arrow at the bottom. Then it went full screen!!! Cool! It wasn’t bad the other way but this was more like watching BBAD. Except if you want to go to a different camera you have to shrink it and go back to the original page.

I’m sure I just totally confused you. Lol. I’ll get back to you after I learn HOW Mike got BB on Roku to start with. After that it is easy. 😉😎👍🏻

Hi Jolee. Hope you and sissy are doing well. Did I ever tell you my younger sister and I always called our older sister Sissy. She was a lot older than us. She graduated from high school the year my younger sister started. I’m two years older than my younger sister. Sissy died two years ago from MS. She was sick many years.

i’m not watching this show, too much going on. I don’t think I would like to watch tv on my computer’s. I love BB and will always watch it on tv in the summer, Always. I admit I am addicted. But, i am reading the blog, thanks for the info. Is anyone else from our blog, watching?? ok watching western’s on tv. c’ya later.
I am watching Survivor it’s good. Not many people blog on it. I think our BBB is the best and we all have a good time, and voice our views and no matter what, nobody fight’s or cause’s trouble.

my appointment, dragged me over to the hospital to have a CT-scan, I go back to the doctor tomorrow for the results, lol i read them on the computer already, i have pull being a nurse, i have all access to all my records. showed scarring from pneumonia and fibroid’s and bronchial infections. i feel better thanks for asking. might even cancel my appt for tomorrow, since i know my results. the Dr aint gonna be having me by his office every month. I’ll see him in the hall’s of the hospital soon enough we will talk about then.

Just listening to Monte you would think he won this huge competition to be HOH. Because you know he is a huge target because of his powerful ability (said with sarcasm). I don’t know what he is basing this off of because he had a crab not handed to him to win HOH. lol

He is telling Danielle now what a huge force he is! That everyone will be wanting him out because of his physical ability. He will be a target all right just not for his ability. lol

I voted for Kryssy. I am tired of her talking about porn and some
of the other gross things she talks about, not to mention she talks
all the time. I’m not a big Monte fan, but I like their group. I like
Neely, too, even though she isn’t in their group. I like Jason, but
he being a vet had a big target on his back and then his constant
talking and not giving others much of a chance to talk made him
an even bigger target. Scott is playing a really good game and
everyone seems to like him. He is in two alliances and thus
covered for now. Justin is a wild card. I think he’s much smarter
than he wants them to think. His cooking will help protect him
for a little while longer. Shelby is not one of my favorites. I don’t
trust her game play.
I am amazed at how many of the females play chess. I like this
group as a whole so much better than the hgs from the past three
seasons. They are neater, more intelligent, and more likable.
Whoever did the selecting of cast members should be permanently
given the job.

The whole 2 day 30 min slow reveal of the noms is just a ploy for CBS to get people watching all at the same time for multiple days. This is them “creating an episode” of sorts. If they did the noms in a traditional fashion, it would be one ceremony for 5 min and then it’s done. Doing it this way created an “appointment viewing” so to speak and tried to build some drama. Its the first week, there’s really a whole lot of nothing going on. It’s a change and will take time to adjust to it. I’m still not totally for or against it yet.

I knew America would vote the 3rd nom and it appears it can only be done via CBS All Access, which is a good thing IMO. That means people who pay to watch the show are the only ones voting, if I understood it correctly. No Twitter campaigns for favorites, no votes from people who don’t watch the show. I watch on the BMX site for free so I wouldn’t be able to vote, which is fine. I never vote for anything to do with the show anyway.

I also like that America can’t put up a person over and over again till they’re gone. There has to be some chance for them other than winning comps. I do find it interesting that if the America’s Nom wins the Veto, there’s not a re-nom. If the Roadkill player won Veto in BB18, didn’t the Roadkill winner do the re-nom? Why not just put up the next person with the most votes from America?

Say Cornbread is America’s Nom, he wins Veto, then the next person is Shane…so Shane goes up….what’s wrong with that? The only thing I can think of is that maybe they don’t want to tip America’s hand about how they feel about certain HG’s so fast. Say my scenario plays out and Cornbread and Shane both manage to stay, but everyone in the house knows America wants them out. Perhaps that’s 2 easy noms for the next HOH? “I’m trying to make America happy” type stuff….IDK….just a thought I had. America is the Jury, so it would make sense to make them/us happy, right? I think anyone with a brain would see it as pandering and America might get pissed at that, but how knows. America isn’t all that bright. 🙂

Either way, Danielle seems to be a pawn and maybe a shot across the bow to Shane to not get in a showmance? I haven’t watched a whole lot, but from what I saw, she seemed sweet and normal and I like her as a person. No clue what her game is like since no game has been played yet. She was pretty upset about the blindside nom, and that got her a lot of sympathy on facebook/Twitter.

I think its safe to assume that if Monte somehow avoids being nominated by the next HOH, he’ll be going up with America’s Nom. I’ve only seen one dude on facebook who actually liked him and he likes him because he’s “an Alpha male”. OK buddy, you can go bro out with Monte in a couple weeks when he’s back home because he sucks at this game….and doesn’t even know how to play. Literally doesn’t even know the rules and never saw the show. I hate those people.

Don’t worry about signing in to anything or any messages you see about VPN’s or anything else. I NEVER sign in to anything. I just click the link and go to Feeds 1 for what’s happening now or check the Replays tab for stuff I missed. The “Extra1 and Extra2” tabs haven’t done anything this season, FYI.

Roku is a great way to watch Over the Top. you can just leave it on 24 hours a day. so every time you walk into the room there it is on, full screen.you never need to watch any thing else.

Monte isn’t reminding me of that cauliflower boy at all ..if Monte wears a cap especially backwards .. he the cutest thing ever ..if he keeps his mouth shut . Opening his mouth totally ruins the image. So far pretty much all these house guest are annoying to me. Cornbread reminds me of someone I know… he gets on my nerves but I think he’s genuine. All the hg seem genuine though which isn’t good b/c I feel like they’re not gonna ever grow on me.
I’m still not sure I like this version of BB. It’s seems like a lot of time has to be invested in it to get anything out of it. I’m kinda only watching at all b/c well I work from home and if this is the only time we see it I wanna say “yeah I watched it”

The veto players are Whitney, Monte, Cornbread, Jason, Danielle and Alex. The host will be Shane.

Jason just said….this is going to take way more than 3 hours!!! NOT sure I am going to be able to watch all of it then. But I can keep checking here or Jokers.

I wonder what they are basing their guess on? They keep getting it wrong! I saw numbers on the fridge in kids letter when they 1st ran in but now it’s all showing them outside pressing the button. Easier to follow when Julie narrates..lol

Star …. I have it on quad view. They have added goldfish up on the skyview, I think there are 9 of them. There are 4 yellow sunflowers downstairs on a table and that’s all I have noticed so far.

I’m not sure I understand what they are doing. I understand that they have to find a code to unlock the vault and that there are clues inside but I don’t think enough instructions were given for the HGs to understand the plot line. I’ve never watched the live feeds before but it sure seems they are cutting the budget on this comp.

Sirrock …. I kind of expected this comp to be ‘not so much’. All the comps this season will probably be of this caliber. I think they thought it would last a lot longer than it did. I believe that’s what they want this season, long drawn out simple comps.

Watched the Veto comp and I gotta say, it was kinda boring. People on facebook were really happy to see a Veto Comp play out live for the first time on the feeds. Like they’re missing something from only seeing it on the show. You know what you miss…..the BORING SHIT! You miss production telling the next person to go, over and over and over and over, and the buzzer going off over and over and over and over for all the wrong guesses. And you miss the HG’s being told to reset the counter over and over because they kept forgetting. No music, no suspense….just watching people run in the house. look around, run back out and type in a number.

And how about how cheap and crappy that comp looked. No costumes….not even a colored t-shirt with the name of the comp on it. They locked them down, changed a few things in the house, put a vault that looked like a port-o-potty in the yard with a podium that you could enter the 4 digit code into. This is like the Walmart version of BB.

People are already claiming it’s rigged. Not sure how, exactly. I guess since Jason has half a brain, he can count and he can remember the order of numbers, it was slanted toward him? Please. And as I type this, Jason is saying, “if this was a regular season, people could say it was rigged, but it’s live, they saw the numbers we put in!” hahaha

My favorite comment was after the comp was over, Monte says to Jason, “See, I knew you were a threat, that’s why I put you up”….justifying his nom. Monte is a moron. America will be putting him up next week, no doubt about it.

So now, Danielle, Cornbread are left on the block and Monte needs to make a replacement….my hunch is Krissy, but who knows at this point.

Does America evict every week or do the HG’s? Or does America get a vote? I don’t know how it works this year.

Sirrock … no we don’t get a weekly vote. I wish we did.

I’ve heard some of the other HG say Kryssie said she wants to go home but I have heard the opposite from her mouth. She was scared to death she was going to be nominated before Danielle was put up, crying and everything. That doesn’t sound like someone that wants to go home!

If I was there I would vote his ass out if I had to sleep in the same room as him! Flashback and listen to him snoring! lol

Alex is really playing the game and I think could win. I heard her talking to herself in the storage room a little bit ago trying to straighten her thoughts. One of the comments she made as she walked out of the room was ‘Monte thinks he’s running this show’. She is so right. He does think he is the one to beat because according to him he is powerful! If you don’t believe him ask him.

Margie – I just asked on FB if America gets to vote for eviction and people said yes. I’m confused, I really have no idea what the deal is. I’ve looked and haven’t seen anything official, one way or the other.

Lisa Marie Bowman October 3, 2016 at 9:52 pm: My understanding is that the viewers get to pick the final winner but they don’t get to vote to evict anyone. Production hasn’t done a great job of explaining the rules for Over The Top so I could be wrong.
