Big Brother 27 — Where Things Stand

Big Brother 27 — Where Things Stand

Hi, everyone!

I apologize for the lateness of this update.  The veto ceremony is going to be held on Monday so let me give you a quick update of what’s going on in the House right now.

If you watched Sunday’s episode of Big Brother, you saw that it ended with a cliffhanger.  If you’ve been watching the live feeds (or reading this site) you know that Mickey successfully overthrew Rylie.  Rylie initially assumed that Ashley was the one who overthrew him and, when he guessed incorrectly, Mickey took over as HoH.

Rylie has been crying about it ever since.

Mikey’s nominations were the usual.  She nominated Keanu.  She nominated Kelley.  And she nominated Rylie.  At this point, Keanu and Kelley are pretty much guaranteed nominees.  Rylie was nominated because he was not only thinking of putting Mickey up during his brief tenue as HoH but he also got so upset about being overthrown that he revealed himself to be someone who would probably come after Mickey for revenge.

As the veto comp approached, Rylie went around begging people not to use the veto if they won it.  His fear was that Katharine, with whom he’s a bit obsessed, would be put up as a replacement nominee.  Rylie indicated that he would rather stay on the block then risk Katharine being nominated.  In other news, Rylie is terrible at this game.

Rylie need not have worried because, once again, Keanu won the veto.

Keanu is taking himself off the block.  That’s a given.  But who will replace him?  Katharine seemed the obvious pick but Mickey seems to be looking to take out a bigger threat.  Tonight, she has indicated to Morgan and Vinny that she is thinking of putting up Jimmy.  That would be huge.

But get this.  Rachel wants to go home!  At least, that’s what Rachel is saying now.  Apparently, Rachel has figured out that the houseguests are thinking of voting her out as soon as jury begins.  (The houseguests have probably figured out that production wants to make sure that Rachel at least makes it to the jury.)  Rachel has said she would rather go on the block and get voted out now than have to sit around the house until jury starts.

Now, before anyone gets too excited, this is Rachel that we’re talking about.  Rachel has always been an emotional player, despite her reputation for being a strategist.  It would not surprise me if Rachel’s attitude is totally different tomorrow.  And Mickey, as of right now, does not seem to have any interest in getting rid of Rachel.  Right now, Mickey really does seem to leaning towards Jimmy.  But Mickey also seems to be worried about Jimmy winning the blockbuster and coming after her so who knows.  She could decide to play it safe and just put up Katharine.

(I should mention that Rachel herself hasn’t really been her old, enthusiastic self this season.  If anything, she seems kind of bored with the other houseguests.  Watching Rachel this season is reminding me of how much of her previous success was due to 1) production loving and protecting her and 2) Brendon helping to focus her.)

We’ll see what happens with the veto meeting!
