Hey Big Brother Blog faithful!! BB27 is officially underway, and if the premiere is any indication, we’re in for a wild ride!
On July 10, CBS welcomed us into the Hotel Mystère, a glamorous Art Deco mansion full of hidden rooms, secret clues, and one very unexpected guest. From the moment the houseguests walked in, it was clear this wasn’t going to be your average summer.
Meet the Houseguests
We were introduced to 16 brand-new players — a diverse group from all across the country. Some early standouts:
-
Kelley from South Dakota: a small-town web designer turned traveler.
-
Zach, a marketing manager and former athlete who promised no showmances (famous last words).
-
Adrian, a superfan carpenter who built a wall comp in his backyard.
-
Ashley, an attorney ready to outsmart the competition.
-
Rylie, a professional bull rider who’s already caught a few eyes.
-
Mickey, an event curator who’s part glam, part country, and already eyeing a cowboy.
…and that’s just scratching the surface. From a professional gamer to a Dungeon Master, this cast is full of personality and potential.
Theme Reveal: “Summer of Mystery”
This year’s twist-heavy theme is centered on mystery — complete with a masked figure called The Mastermind, hidden challenges, and even a missing Julie Chen Moonves. Yep, just minutes after welcoming everyone, Julie “disappeared” and left behind a single high heel. Classic.
The Mastermind then announced that houseguests had to complete missions to “save” Julie and unlock the first HOH competition.
Competition Results
-
Zach saved Julie and won $10,000.
-
Jimmy found the “HOH Relic” and earned the power to pick four people to compete for the first Head of Household title.
-
Vince won the HOH by balancing bars in the first comp. He’s safe for the week… but he’ll also have to nominate three people thanks to a returning twist: the BB Blockbuster.
And Then… Rachel Reilly Walked In.
Yes, you read that right. Rachel Reilly, Big Brother legend and BB13 winner, is the 17th houseguest this season. No special protection, no safety — she’s a full-fledged competitor.
The reactions were a mix of shock and awe, and it’ll be interesting to see how the newbies handle a vet in the house.
Another Twist: The Accomplice
Just when we thought it couldn’t get more chaotic, the Mastermind revealed that one of the 16 original houseguests is secretly his “Accomplice.”
If the house identifies them, the mole will be immediately evicted. If they fail, the Accomplice stays in the game permanently.
Let the paranoia begin.
Early Dynamics
-
Zach and Lauren may already be heading toward showmance territory.
-
Mickey and Rylie also have sparks flying.
-
Friendships are forming fast: Jimmy and Amy, Keanu and Zae, and Adrian with literally everyone.
-
Strategic players like Morgan and Jimmy are hiding their full resumes. No one knows Morgan’s a pro gamer. Jimmy left out his political strategy background.
Fan Thoughts & Speculation
The BB fandom is already buzzing:
-
Some love Rachel’s return. Others say it gives her an unfair edge.
-
The Hotel Mystère theme is a huge hit — fans love the house design and Clue-like feel.
-
The Accomplice twist is fueling speculation. Popular guesses: Zach (too lucky?), Ava (suspicious movement), or Morgan (gamer brain).
-
The Blockbuster twist is back and will keep things unpredictable with three nominees each week.
What’s Next?
We’ll find out more during Sunday’s episode, including Vince’s nominations and whether the house can unmask the Accomplice.
Live feeds are delayed until then, so everyone’s in the dark… including us superfans!
Let the summer chaos begin. BB27 is here, and we are READY.
