Hi, everyone!
Well, here we are on another Sunday night. If you’re like me, you just watched tonight’s episode of Big Brother and you saw a recap of the James/Clay fight, you saw a little of Vanessa’s meltdown, you saw Becky winning HoH, and you saw her nominating Shelli and Steven.
It was a pretty good episode, I thought. I was happy that they did show the Clay/James fight because that fight really did lead to Clay being voted out over Shelli. I laughed when Meg was talking about how annoying Shelli was being. (I get the feeling that Shelli enjoyed high school so much that she decided to stop maturing after graduating.) I enjoyed seeing John actually thinking about playing the game. After all this time, it’s a bit of relief to know that John actually does realize that he is playing a game and that he does need to get people out of the house.
And yet, at the same time, I was not totally happy with tonight’s episode. It’s weird to watch the CBS show when you know what’s actually going on inside of the house. First off, there’s the fact that we already know that Shelli and Vanessa are going to be sitting next to each other on the block come Thursday. So, it was hard not to laugh a little when Vanessa said that her main goal was to make sure that she and Shelli were not both nominated this week.
But even beyond that, it’s always interesting to see how the CBS show chooses to present what’s happening inside of the house. For the longest time, I’ve felt that the Big Brother editors are going way too easy on Vanessa. While tonight’s show did acknowledge that Vanessa is unpredictable, it came nowhere close to showing just how crazy she’s been acting inside the house. If you only watched the CBS show, you would have no idea that Vanessa is convinced that John and Clay are related (or more). You would have no ides that both Vanessa and Austin are obsessed with the idea of someone in the house being America’s Player.
It’s not as bad as past seasons, where the show went out of its way not to show anything negative about either Frankie or Amanda. But still, it’s hard not to feel that, when compared to what we all know is happening in the house, Vanessa, Clay, and Shelli have all been given surprisingly positive edits.
As of right now, it looks like Vanessa is going to be the renom on Monday. And she will probably be the first person evicted during Thursday’s double eviction episode. People who have only seen the CBS show will think that Vanessa’s being evicted solely because she’s a strong player. However, those of us who follow the LFs, know that Vanessa is also being evicted because she has managed to get on everyone’s last nerve.
As for what’s happening the house — when last I checked, Vanessa was paranoid about being the renom but Becky told her that no, Johnny Mac would probably be the replacement. However, Becky’s definitely appears to be planning on backdooring Vanessa.
So, if the all goes as planned, Vanessa, Shelli, and maybe Austin will be shocked on Monday. It should make for some good drama!

P.S. I know that there’s a rumor that James has been selected as America’s Player. Apparently, there was an audio leak while James was in the diary room and James was heard to say, “Hey, an America’s Player envelope!” A producer then said, “Congratulations.” James then stayed in the Diary Room for over an hour.
Well, there may have been an envelope in the Diary Room (we didn’t see James in the DR, we just heard him for a few seconds) but I just find it hard to believe that Big Brother would do an America’s Player twist without making a HUGE deal about it.
Big Brother often keeps secrets from the HGs but there’s nothing to be gained from hiding a twist from the audience.
So, in other words, I’ll believe James is America’s Player when I see some definite proof. Instead, I imagine James was probably making a joke and the producer was being sarcastic.
Dont we vote for Americans favorite player. I think they spent way to much time on the slip and slide. I would of liked to see a little more of what goes on in the house.

That is what I always thought, that it is the American viewers that vote the favourite player.
As for how production doesnt broadcast their HGs in a negative light, dont forget how well they hid Aryn’s racism. I think that was the first year I ever watched BBAD and I was shocked at how much was NOT shown on CBS broadcasts.
Looking forward to Wednesday’s show with the comics and Steve getting a win.

While I , too, thought way too much time was spent on the HOH comp, I got a few laughs
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------out of James and his off the cuff remarks. He can really be funny. But did he really say,
“There’s no furry like a woman scorned?”
Also, (Everyone talks in whispers or too fast or mumbles.) did Steve suggest to John to
“get it on with Becki in the jury house”, and John ask if she was down with that?

I can’t stand that Vanessa might be going home I’m glad that cbs is not throwing her under the bus and showing all. I’m thinking they don’t want any lawsuits by the player. Would not want to damage any future earning potential for her. To me that’s just common courtesy

Tonight’s BB is over and now we can look forward to seeing how the veto meeting plays out and hopefully see some dramatic action. Not much excitement tonight. I have been watching some of reruns of BBAD on YouTube and it’s very boring! The only excitement tonight was the fight between Clay and James, and James walking around the house like a banty rooster. (Not sure of spelling! 😉 )

Like a cat will play with a mouse before “evicting” it, I think Becky should have talked about working together a little more with Vanessa. By calling herself “basic Becky” and refusing to talk more game with Vanessa, Becky is actually showing most of her cards to a poker player. Becky should have listened to all of Vanessa’s ruminating her deal offers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Becky has had good conversations with everyone in most excellent strategic playing. Except for CRAZY Steve. She should merely tell Steve he’s a pawn so he won’t be so hell bent on evicting her someday. Everyone is a potential threat. There is only one winner. I hope Becky has promised safety to all the others in exchange for safety. People won’t honor their promises for sure but everyone will be on the jury now.
Steve is so weird. He is cute and odd and so weird. He could win 😮
Vanessa has had so many meltdowns that were televised, I bet America wants her booted out too.

Tonight was a snoozer, but Meg was particularly irritating to me. I’m amazed at how rude
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------the HGs are to Becki by staying and staying in her room, when it’s so obvious she is ready
for them to leave her in peace. Every time I turn around Meg is lying around in the HOH
room. Tonight she kept talking when I could plainly see Becki was tired and wasn’t up
for the same old rhetoric over and over again. Then she came in and told Meg her stomach
was sour and she was going to go to sleep. She even left the room for a few moments. But
Meg still stayed and said she was going to listen to music.
I don’t know why I’ve found Meg so irritating these past couple of weeks, but it’s like she
(who never wins anything and was an embarrassment on the last comp) just keeps sailing
along on someone’s coattail while acting like she’s running the show. She’s all about game
talk, but does nothing to back up her talk…except to depend on others to accomplish it for her.
I will give this crew credit for at least (Liz only somtimes) chewing with their mouths
closed. So many past HGs were horrible about this and it drove me crazy.
Sorry for the rant, but tonight my nerves are doing an Irish jig after watching BBAD.
Guess I need to go to sleep???Ya think!!!! If only I wasn’t so wired.

I had to laugh when they showed the fight between James and Clay. Mr. Mumbles was impossible to understand again….even his “threat” had subtitles! I only wish they made fun of him again, but I suppose it was a bit serious and we actually needed to see what he was saying.
I also don’t get why Becky wouldn’t just tell Steve he was a pawn. And her shutting down Vanessa over any deal. Yeah, its all a moot point now, but at that time it wasn’t. Like James quoting Mike Boogie – “This is Big Brother, you can bounce checks in this house”.

This is shaping up to be the best week of the season. After playing both sides pretty much all season, Becky has chosen the right side to be on. After a month and a half(way too long), she finally sees through Vanessa and all her BS. It was great to see Becky totally shut Vanessa down in the HOH room. Seeing Vanessa’s face when she knew she couldn’t manipulate Becky like she’s done to everyone(including her alliance) this season was priceless.
I believe Jmac has been playing the game all along. Just because he doesn’t say much or have an alliance, doesn’t mean he hasn’t been playing the game. He has understood his role and position in the game and has played accordingly. He has known about Vanessa for a while but smartly kept it to himself. If that would have got back to Vanessa that he knew about her, he would have been gone during the 4 straight weeks she and the 6 sense were in power. Speaking of editing, this could also be the reason why people think JMac isn’t playing the game.
This will be the best veto meeting of the season thus far. The aftermath of it will be even better. Watching Vanessa sidle up next to Shelli to the nomination chairs is what I’ve been waiting for all season. I predict an Audrey type performance(not as bad though) and Shelli finally realizing a lot of things about Vanessa.

I rarely go anywhere but here or Glammy’s for BB updates, but because of a link Star posted in yedterday’s blog I wandered around for a bit at Jokers. I have been there before but I like getting my scoops from different people that add their own whimisical commentary.

I agreed with your entire post on the last page! I could add a ton to your list but that would get us WAY O/T!! lol But yet again, their grammar and speech patterns are being talked about here. I think their speech problems are last years mouth-open-while-eating problem!! lol Yes, James DID say FURRY instead of FURY!!! I yelled it out at the TV as soon as I heard it!!! OMG!! But that is a common problem nowadays, among young people but also in people general as no one seems to think getting an education…in anything except technology….is important. But people will say words that they think SOUND like the actual word, because obviously they don’t know or care about the definition of either OR how ignorant they sound.
I did hear Steve say something to JM about Becky too. But I thought it was more of a romantic thing, like they could get to know each other there…as JM very plainly said to James that Clay was stupid to put love before money in this game. But then these HGS seems kind of crude this season, so he may well have said it that way!!
@Kev…I can’t understand Van either most of the time. It’s because she talks so fast. It’s like there’s no punctuation in any of her sentences!! lol I do agree that Steve is weird too. But I don’t happen to think he’s cute OR has any real game play!! He just tries to fly low and mark the days on the calendar. I don’t see him winning. But he could take 2nd place if someone dragged him there.
Not much else to game talk. BBAD was very boring….as usual. Tomorrow will be the fireworks display! Wish we didn’t have to wait until wed to see it!!! Does anyone else miss Tues shows??

Hey Star…I miss Tuesday’s shows too!! But thankfully we have angels like you to keep us updated with all the juicy details that occur in the house!!(As they occur!!) I can’t hardly wait to see who Becky puts up as a replacement! Things can change on a dime in that house….things are said…feelings get hurt..people get paranoid, etc.

I agree that the game is being played at last. Becky may not have done much until this week but now that she got started she is play hard and fast I LOVE IT!! I am glad that she saw the light and is going with the other side of the house with James, JMac, Jackie, Steve and Meg. Hopefully Van will go home this week. It might be fun to see Liz go this week I think if she did Austin would beg to be voted out. Can’t wait for Thrusday!

Sherry, I do agree with you about Meg, she is riding the coat tails of the players and is just lounging around and talking bad about everyone. I liked her in the beginning, but she is turning into a mean girl. I hope Vanessa goes. I loved it when Vanessa tried to make a deal with Becky and she wanted no part of it. Van needs to go and next they need to break up the twins because I can’t take much more of the valley girl talk. Johnny Mac is the only one in the house that can keep a secret. I think he might go far. Can’t wait for double eviction. James is so full of himself. He needs to wash his greasy hair. Is Jackie’s hair real or is it a weave? Later

wingnut17: I, too, hope Johnnie Mac goes to the end. He has played the most honest
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------game and most strategic (in my opinion). I fear, though, that no one will want to take
him to the end, because he would win.
I read somewhere she has extensions (don’t know the difference between weave and
extensions), but then it could be a weave. I wish someone on production would go
through back editing tapes and find out who has the most mirror time, Austin or Jackie.
Neither can pass a mirror without checking themselves out. I believe if all mirrors in the
house were removed, both of them would self-evict!!
I’m glad I’m not the only one who has noticed the changes in Meg. I, too, liked her a lot
in the beginning, but have since evolved as the true Meg has emerged.
I believe an America’s player has to be voted on by America, or how else could one be
chosen to represent America??? James must have been up to another one of his practical
jokes and production went with it.
Can hardly wait to hear from Star and Lisa about the veto ceremony and the aftermath!!

Steve was talking to himself (as usual) about not using the veto. I can’t remember if he knows that Vanessa is the replacement nominee if he comes off. If he knows, he may be trying to protect Vanessa which is stupid in my mind. He did say that his mother would kill him if he didn’t use the veto so hopefully his mother will be in the back of his mind when it is time for the veto ceremony. I really wish Becky hadn’t told Shelli the plan about backdooring Vanessa. It would have been nice to see Shelli sweat it out two weeks in a row in the hot seat.

Steve came to his senses and used the POV to save himself and Vanessa is the replacement nominee. She isn’t taking it well. Grilling Shelli if she knew she was going up. Now to just make sure Vanessa goes home. Vanessa did make a comment about her being so smart which made me chuckle.

Yay! Finally we may be able to see Vanessa go out the door! My next choice would be Austin or Shelli, so I’m happy that one of my top three will be leaving! And, there is the double eviction coming! You never know how that is going to play out! We have seen some real shockers in the past! You know you’re addicted to BB when you can’t wait for Monday and Tuesday to pass, so you can see BB on Wednesdays! 😉

really get anywhere. I would say Austin, but if Liz goes…..Austin will campaign to be
the next to go.
The other side of the house has things going their way now. Meg will ride along on
their coattails and may even be in the top three, since everyone seems to overlook her
floater status. She doesn’t even know she’s a floater. A game player she’s not. A comp
winner, she’s not. Intelligent, she’s not. But she has a beautiful smile. wink.
