Hi! As I mentioned earlier, I’m visiting with family this weekend and I’ve been away from the live feeds. And while I love my family, I’m also looking forward to getting a chance to see what I’ve missed in the house. Just reading about it, it sounds like it’s been quite a feast for the feedsters!
Anyway, I’m going just post a quick summary of what I’ve read and heard and if I make any mistakes, please feel free to correct me in the comments. (Thank you to everyone who commented last night and kept us updated with what you were seeing.)
Here’s my understanding of what’s happened:
Yesterday, they had the veto comp. It was hosted by Jessie the Bodybuilder (remember him?). Austin is convinced that Jessie was selected as host specifically because Austin is a huge Jessie fan. (Yes, Sasquatch, everything is about you.) Austin won the power of veto and apparently, he spent several hours with the veto medallion hanging around his neck.
Liz apparently spent all of yesterday sobbing and cursing Austin’s name. Apparently, she and Julia feel that Austin should have thrown the veto and allowed Julia to win it, which would have made all three of them safe. Liz also seems to feel that Austin should use the veto on her but instead, he’s going to use it on himself and Julia is going to go up as a replacement nominee.
Austin apparently begged Liz to forgive him and tried to convince her to go make a deal with Steve but, at the same time he was doing that, he was not smart enough to take off the stupid veto medallion. When Liz refused to speak with him, Austin begged Vanessa to go plead his case for him.
(Apparently, Vanessa gave Liz and Julia advice on how to play the veto. And the advice didn’t work out well. Liz and Julia are so busy being angry with Austin that it hasn’t occurred to them that Vanessa purposefully gave them bad advice because she knew that Julia won the veto, Vanessa would be the replacement nominee.)
Vanessa explained why Austin was so happy when he won the veto but apparently, she spent most of her time getting both the twins to agree to work with her after the next eviction.
Austin then made the twins a special dinner — chicken and vegetables that he arranged in the shape of a heart. The twins sent the plate back, untouched.
Right now, it seems pretty definite that Julia is going to be nominated in Austin’s place. Liz and Julia spent a lot of time debating which one of them had a better chance of winning the game. (Even though it’s totally against the rules, the twins appear to be planning to split the prize money between themselves.) With Vanessa’s help, they agreed that there’s no way Julia could possibly win.
Meanwhile, Steve apparently has yet to say which of the twins he wants gone, saying that they can decide that later in the week. (To me, Liz is the obvious choice but with this group of houseguests, who knows…)
Anyway, I think it’s important to note here that Liz and Julia were specifically recruited to be on the show. One reason why I hate it when Big Brother specifically recruits players is because recruited houseguests always have a terrible sense of entitlement. They figure that since they were asked to appear on the show, that means that they are also guaranteed to win it. It leads to a terrible sense of entitlement. (Case in point: Frankie Grande.) What we’re seeing with Liz and Julia right now is a perfect example of entitlement gone crazy.

I can’t imagine why CBS continues with the recruiting since the twins have fallen flat. I don’t see them stirring controversy as much as just being disliked. Not so good for the show.

I really have lost my interest in these house guests. The one person who should have been evicted and the opportunity did arise…was Vanessa. She has manipulated these house guests like shuffling cards. Are these people there to win the game? Even though someone is going to win…no one in the house deserves it. They all LIE and Vanessa does it with a few tears and protests she doesn’t. Johnny Mac called her a bully and she is. I believe you can win the game by being human. I’m not niave..money makes people do strange things. But Big Brother only confirms how greedy people can be at the expense of other human beings.

I’ve been following the recent events. pretty juicy after things having been so boring for awhile! Fun to see Liz get a taste of her own medicine & ridiculous that she thought Austin should throw his own game to save HER. (only thing you lost me on Lisa Marie was how Julia winning the veto would have saved ALL of them? how would it have saved Austin? lol. maybe it went over my head but thinking Austin would have then been the definite target if both twins were safe) Anyway Austin and Liz are definitely on the outs with each other. Slept apart last night! Liz feels it’s all just SO unfair and she’s “embarrassed” that Austin won’t use the veto on HER. uh .. DUH. . it’s a GAME. Austin – like everybody else came to play the game and te purpose of the game is to try to WIN – not to display chivalry for some short lived romance ! I just know LIz better get evicted or she will be DOUBLY obnoxious if she’s not and out for vengeance like nothing seen before! After all her snickering and putdowns of previous hgs put on the block and evicted, turns out she’s the biggest bawl baby of them all and doesn’t think it’s fair now that it’s HER turn! well WAH .. too bad Liz!

Steve and Vanessa have a final deal Steve and Johnny Mac have a final deal his best move is to put up Julia. Somebody has to break up that pack of 3 votes if not now .when he’s got to know that that is his best move at this time. Not to let feelings get in the way not jumping the gun doing what is right at this time. Remember he has to survive next week when he cannot play for HOH.

These house guest are so stupid!!! What has my Big Brother came too? Hate to tell everyone but the romance HAS been revived in all its glowing wonder!! They are all loved up in bed with lots of undercover movements, as usual. I think something might be in the works because they are locked in with a message on the screen to ‘grab your sunscreen…it’s hot outside’. Maybe a luxury comp or just something to make Liz happy.
Austin as well as Liz were acting like little waaah babies last night with her crying and wailing and telling him to get out she doesn’t want to see his ugly lying face (yes she said that) and him begging everyone including Steve and Johnnie to tell her he loves her! ugh!
It was pathetic how excited he was that Jessie was there to give him the golden veto. He thought it was meant to be that he won it and such good publicity for his career. lol. Liz is so ’embarrassed ‘ that he won’t use the veto on her. Julia spent hours eating or should I say smacking into the microphone while talking to Liz and agreeing how everyone is treating them so badly by not letting them go to final two! What entitled little spoiled bitches!!!!
Of course, the entire time Vanessa was stirring the pot.
The backyard is open again at 12:30 pm and nothing seems to be changed….maybe maintenance. Everyone is still asleep except Liz, Austin and Vanessa. Steve is all curled up with his teddy bear.

Liz is just finding out NOW what a loser Austin is? Austin is in love with himself. Watched the after hours of BB and Austin was doing handstands in front of the mirrors while talking to Steve. I assume that Austin is really Gay………………Sorry to say and using Liz to his own enjoyment.
He makes my skin crawl………….and so does Vanessa. The twins are getting on my nerves and and to have them mad at Austin with him making food for them and leaving it untouched is a cheer in my corner.

I think Vanessa’s face is breaking out because she can’t enough mirror time, as Austin
is always hogging it. I heard he did a cartwheel for Jesse. Excuse me, but that is more than
pathetic. If he is intent upon impressing someone like Jesse, who is unable to impress
the viewers himself, then he needs to have a talk with a professional. Jesse was a complete
turn off for me and continues to only solidify that impression with each visit back to the
BB house. But I can see that the two of them have a lot in common. They both enjoy
mirror time too much, they both are freaky about their body building, they both think they are God’s gift to women (ewwwww! Joke for all time.), and they both have an overblown opinion of themselves.
Voting Julia out is a waste of a vote. Liz is the competitor and has the bond with Austin.
I think Julia and Austin barely tolerate each other. I’m wondering if production has
had a talk with Liz for her to do a complete 180 about Austin. She has something up her
sleeve. I don’t trust emotional turnabouts within a few short hours.

I do think it is best for Steve and JMac to want Liz gone as the best competitor going forward, BUT either way with either Liz or Julia evicted, Austin has to align with the remaining twin, so it leaves Steve and JMack vs Austin and one twin with Vanessa sitting on the sidelines (as always) awaiting the winner of the next HOH to join with the winning duo to become f3 with the HOH winning pair.

Did anyone else catch that Johnny Mac threw that Baseball HOH Comp to Steve Big Time! I wasn’t aware of it even though he has verbally talked about it but since I DVR all shows I went back and looked at Johnny Mac’s picture of Jeff and he had all of the cubes except for one in the top middle and he was acting like he was looking around on the ground for it when it was sitting on the table in perfect view for anyone to see.

@Jolee…the reason Johnny didn’t want to win that HOH is because he and Steve discussed him throwing that one so he could play in an endurance one next week. He thinks he is better at endurance and Steve is better at puzzle things.
I noticed the other night when JM and Steve were grilling each other on the dates Johnnie knew them just as good if not better than Steve. I was surprised and pleased to note that he has been paying attention and playing the game.

I remember just a week or two ago most people on here were screaming how terrible a player JMac is and was furious he threw the HOH comp. What happened to all that? Just because a certain player doesn’t play the game the way you would doesn’t make that player a terrible player. Julia is a terrible player. Meg might be the worst player to ever to play BB. JMac has been the only player in the house that actually told Van to her face just what he thinks of her game. All of the other HGs who just hinted they wanted Van gone have already left the game. Not only is he still in the game, he ended up making an alliance with her and is now primed to make final four. None of that sounds like a terrible player to me.

This has been the weirdest season I can remember. JM throwing the comp at this stage
in the game is unusual, but for this season might not have been a bad idea. His fake
was obvious, but he didn’t really care. He just wanted to be eligible for next week’s HOH
comp. If he doesn’t win, then that’s a different matter. It looks like Van doesn’t plan on
competing that hard for the next couple of weeks. She wants to just skim along as the
swing vote and be able to switch sides determined on how the wind blows. I do hope he wins the next comp and gets HOH. I think it would be great for him to get a HOH room and get a letter from home. It would, also, solidify the Van, Steve, and John threesome more.
I have to admit I haven’t liked Vanessa very much this season, but I have to give her

she mapped herself out to be. I, also, have to say, I think Steve has had a big change of
attitude. He’s finally playing the game and seems to have much more confidence than
we’ve seen so far this season. I’d read that Steve has been playing the nerdy, mama’s
boy as part of his game plan and isn’t really that way at all. Perhaps the real Steve has
made an appearance. JM is said to not be anything like his persona in the BB house
in real life. Now is when I really wish BB would have an after-show like Survivor does.
I love seeing the contestants after the game and see the real personalities emerge and
hear the explanations of their game play strategy. I feel like BB lets us down by not
doing so. We are kind of left in the air with so many questions left unanswered. But
BB doesn’t seem all that interested in what its fans want. They have the cheapest
winnings at the end of the game of the major reality shows and are thinking about
how much it would cost them to extend the show another hour. Perhaps their pro-
duction staff could take a cut in pay to make up the difference????

@Merlie…….Julia obviously was more cheerleader than student!!lol Did you see Austin being taken aback and then doing a big eyeroll when she first didn’t know who Freud and then thought he was a lion trainer??lol The ONLY similarities between the two is the SIG in their names!!! Also, when Steve got his HOH, she asked if he had been Valedictorian of his class and he said no…Salutatorian and she goes…what’s that??lol WTH they didn’t get her out WEEKS ago……even right after she came into split up the twins….I’ll never know!!!!!! I don’t mind Liz, except for her taste in men,but Julia rubs me the wrong way!! She is rude and crude, a mean girl and dumb!! A total waste of BB space!!!
@Randy….yes, i did see that. He could have beaten Steve quite easily. I don’t get the logic at this point in the game , of putting off wins! He has never had an HOH and just because you want or need to win the next HOH doesn’t mean you will!!!! Whatever the reasoning he and Steve had, I think it was a mistake. But then JM has thrown so many comps this season, it’s prolly second nature!!! 😉
@sherry…..totally agree. I had read that about Steve too. I think the truth lies somewhere in between…like I don’t think he’s exactly Clark Kent and has a Superman side!!lol But all the HGS are different in the house. You have to be the kind of person who is a chameleon to even play the game!!!
That’s about it. BBAD boring as usual. And I was out all day as usual lately and still have this nasty sinus infection. Can’t decide whether I should just ride it out and assume it’s a virus(since the ABs didn’t seem to help)or go back to the doctor. Just waiting for the company to leave and then we’ll see.

@Star, miss you! Hope you had a good day in spite if your sinus infection. My husband had those a lot and Jeanne gets them once in awhile. We are having a laid back long weekend! Jeanne made a batch of chocolate chip cookies and I made them into ice cream sandwiches and put them in the freezer! Yum! Nice to have on a warm day. My favorite summer treat out of the freezer is orange creamcicles.

You never know who will turn on you to better themselves. We’ve seen supposedly good friends decide it’s your time to go to better my chances. I’ve seen it several times in past season’s. I hope their plan works because I would rather see Johnny Mac or Steve win over any other guests left in the house. My list for “Worst to Win Big Brother” is: (in order of worst-)

3. Julia
4. Vanessa

6. Johnny Mac
That’s my opinion for what it’s worth. Although Vanessa has played the game more than anyone, her constant in-your-face bullying and offering bribes to the players would normally put her at the top of my worst list, but there are three other players who believe they are the “entitled elite cream of the crop!” Of course they should win! They deserve it! NOT!!!! I guess I can go to bed now … I said my piece. Goodnight fellow bloggers. Have a nice Labor Day!

JMac did give the baseball card HOH to Steve and it was a smart move. Steve winning put JMac’s threesome in control for the week and JMac was able to save his big shot at an HOH win for this coming Thursday, the last HOH competition when winner can’t compete in the remaining HOH competitions. Steve can’t compete for HOH this Thursday, JMac can and if JMac wins the next HOH, he is guaranteed F4 and will have two opportunities (HOH and Veto) to get to F3 and the final competitions.

@Dough, thank you for all of the smiley faces!! I listen to Ray Price’s gospel album. It includes 10 of my favorite hymns. He also has other albums that are mostly love songs, which I loved to listen to when I was younger! Some of his love songs are For the Good Times, Make the World go Away, You’re the Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me, and Help Me Make it through the Night … all very romantic and he sings so smooth. He has a very unusual voice. He passed away a few years ago, but his songs are still popular with the older country western fans. I prefer to listen to his hymns. I’m too old for love songs! You can check him out on YouTube. Play some of his songs when he was younger. I think he sang best when he was a little older .. more mellow!

I had heard that Caleb (beast mode cowboy) was going to be on Survivor and was soooo excited. When they recently announced the cast, there was no mention of him. Does anyone lnow when/if he is going to be on Survivor? I think he would be fun to watch on Sirvivor.

@dough, the next season of Survivor are people who were voted out in previous seasons, all former contestants on Survivor only. Maybe he’ll be in the Cast that begins in February, I’d like to see him too.

This season started out as a total bore and still is, kind of. However I like the all of the comrodery in the house. I think the twins have good points and bad, but over all I like them. They are cute as a button, and dorky. They remind me of little girls, I bet they were adorable little girls. And I like Austin(just not Judas). Steve and Johnny Mac are also goofy and can be laughable. Vanessa is a total freak, she reminds me of vapor. I think about houseguest in the recent past and I would much rather watch this bunch that seeing my favorite put up on the block week after week like poor Donny. And dear Lord if I never see Frankie again I will be a happy lady. And that cray cray Amanda, dear Lord I hope she got some help. Or that married chick from last season that followed Cody around.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------So with that being said I’m pretty ok with just about any of these 6 winning. I am split evenly with all 6. They were successful in taking out the whole other alliance because they did stick together. I’m enjoying seeing how the rest unfolds now.

Looking forward to Thursday! The rest of the shows are so boring! The only thing that makes it a tad interesting is because the twins are finally on the block and one of them will go out the door. I would prefer it to be Liz, but I am pretty sure it will be Julia. Then, if Johnny Mac will just win HOH and get rid of Austin or Vanessa, I will be a happy camper! I shall return …..

So I just watched last nights show ❗ So much better than most, I really enjoyed it for a change. I had so much to say about some comments that were made but that always starts some sort of shit! Anyway I just turned 68 last week & I know for a fact that when I was in my 40’s I would have kicked the young kids butts 😆 ……… I hope that next season they do bring in some old blood 🙂 If you you know what I am saying, these young pups don’t have a clue about real life ❗ As far as hating some of these people, I just can’t say I HATE! I do not like some of the HG’s but to hate……. no,no…I had to go to war with two children & a wonderful young wife in 1967 & just did my job & got the hell home…but I never hated anyone only what they did! Sorry did not want to go on any kind of rant 😆 Thanks for most of your comments & keep them coming! @bobovnvet, I knew you were a pussy cat! And, you certainly don’t look 68! I agree with you when you say you don’t hate. I agree with you 100%. The word hate is not in my dictionary either. Life is too short to waste your energy on it! I dislike what some of the HG’S are doing, but they are, for the most part, very immature kids. ( especially if I compare them to old folks like me!) I know whatever you are grilling will be yummy! I love to grill! Catch you all later. You just made me hungry! 🙂

bobovnvet: I so agree with you. I believe there are a couple of reasons the younger
generation seems to be less mature and more crass than ours. (I turned 69 in July.) For
one thing, we were raised to respect our elders and to always be courteous towards them.
If we were really smart, we took the time to listen and learn from them. Not so much now.
We weren’t given that much help by our parents to get us started or given that much monetarily throughout our growing up years. Our parents did the best they could, but it
was not an easy time for them during those years. Our generation wanted to give our
children more than we had and ended up giving them too much. They grew up wanting
to start from the top, not wanting to start from the bottom and grow up with the re-
sponsibilities of adulthood. Many grew up believing the world owed them, that they were
entitled. It made them unkind to others (not able to step into someone else’s shoes men-
tally when trying to figure out how to get along with others) and judgmental of those who
had less than they. Many grew up never understanding personal responsibility for one’s
actions, trying to make everything someone else’s fault.
I can remember someone telling me how they hated being broke. Well, no one enjoys
being broke, but the word broke does not always mean what we understood it to be
when first married. I told them they still didn’t know what being broke was. Broke is
having to serve Kool Aid because you couldn’t afford soft drinks. Even water when it
got really tough. It meant having to buy a refrigerator with a small freezer compartment
that held a pound of hamburger meat and two ice cube trays. It meant learning to like
leftovers and understanding that steak was something that would become a rarity. It
meant having to build a bookcase out of old boards and bricks gathered at sights where
a house was being torn down. It meant having to tell friends at times, you just couldn’t
go with them somewhere, because you couldn’t afford it. Did we long for better things?
Of course. But we waited until we could afford it and truly appreciated it when it became
possible to obtain the things of our dreams.
Cursing was something that just wasn’t done around children and women, but has become
a part of every day language for many. Taking the Lord’s name in vain is now done out of habit without giving it a second thought. Even books and movies have trashed the English language by making cursing a part of almost every movie or book to make it worth your time. The same goes for taking the name of the Lord in vain. I am a writer and have learned the hard way that even mild cursing is necessary for something to get published in the non-fiction arena. To make it more believable for today’s times.
But while I lay a great deal of blame at the feet of we parents, I have to admit it is not
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------easy to grow up in these times. There is too much out there to ruin a young person’s
life by succumbing to the many temptations they will encounter. And we are not leaving
them a world as good as the one left to us. We were the lucky ones and had to get old
to realize this.

bobovet, God bless you and thank you again for your service. Dough, I am a blessed woman. I have 6 children, 16 grandchildren and 5 G Grandchildren. Most of them live 3000 mi away. My husband passed away and my son is in hospital. So when I go to bed at night, i can’t shut my mind off. What really helps me is to listen to music that I know the words and say them in my head. Before you know it I’m asleep. I pray it works for you. Sorry bloggers for going so far OT. I just felt it appropriate at this time. {{{HUGS}}}

@Bobo….I think that is the most I have ever seen you write!!! lol But they were pearls of wisdom! 😉 Someone else on here said they thought this year’s HGS were a lot better than some years and I have to agree. They all get along and most are pretty good at keeping the chatter going…except maybe JM!! It’s just that we expect smart and sneaky and alot of gameplay on BB and there have been a ton of floaters and people who didn’t even watch BB before coming on this season. And there have been seasons where someone grated on my nerves and I just wanted them OUT, but I didn’t HATE anyone either!! Hate the sin, not the sinner!!! 😉
@jolee…so glad you talked me into coming back on the blog this year! It has been a very pleasant group with little to no bickering and I have met a lot of nice people. And being a super fan, I can’t go all summer and not share thoughts with other BB addicts!! lol You and Jeanne…my mother’s name……are so sweet and with my Mom gone, it’s so nice to have women her age to share thoughts and conversations with!!! And i like how you always MISS me when I’m not here! Like I hope my Mom in heaven is doing!! 😉
Absolutely nothing going on on the live feeds. ZERO. Crickets! Eating, napping and chessing!(yes..they made it a verb!!) I really don’t like the end of BB. it’s boring and flags the end of summer. And out blog. Always makes me sad. BB is so hard to quit!! They need to make a patch for that!!!lol

Jeanne…My problem with listening to songs, if I know them I like to sing them! I may have a hard time sleeping if I am singing! It sounds like you have a very full and blessed life. I hope your son gets better very soon. Losing a spouse is so difficult. I will keep you in my prayers. I am unsure if your sister lives close to you. I have only one sister and we are very close.
