Big Brother 18: Well, let’s see what’s happening in Big Brother World…

Hi, y’all!

Well, things certainly are boring in the Big Brother House tonight! Corey and Nicole are laying in bed and whispering and pretty much trying to claim that title for most boring showmance ever. James and Natalie are laying in bed and not really saying anything at all. Paul and Victor are in another room, watching as Michelle eats and stares into space. I caught a glimpse of Paulie earlier. He was wandering from room to room, looking as if he was desperate for someone to have a conversation with him.

Things really haven’t changed since my last post. Paulie is still leaving on Thursday and he’s still whining about it. Earlier today, after spending an eternity complaining about having to do the thing with the pies, he finally baked another pie while wearing nothing but an apron.

Paulie also approached James and made a plea to stay in the house. He told James that if he survived this week, he would immediately target Victor. Paulie argued that Victor is a physical challenge beast and that Paulie was the only one who could defeat Victor in a competition. Paulie then added that James could just say that he was giving Paulie a sympathy vote and that he didn’t realize that other people were voting for Paulie to stay as well.

For his part, James said that Paulie had a good point and that he would think about it. In the Big Brother House, that’s another way of saying, “Never ever going to happen.”

So, with Paulie’s eviction pretty much guaranteed now (unless, of course, he has the return ticket), there’s a lot of speculation about 1) what happened at yesterday’s big carnival/concert and 2) what’s going to happen on Friday’s episode.

Here’s what we know for sure about the carnival:

There were games and prizes. However, we haven’t heard much about the specific prizes, which leads me to suspect that production may have told the houseguests not to talk about them until after the carnival is shown during the CBS show.
Jesse the Bodybuilder was featured at the carnival. Why Big Brother is so addicted to bringing back Jesse, I’ll never understand.
The houseguests were also treated to a live concert, performed by Ziggy Marley. Who? I had to look him up on Wikipedia. He’s a reggae singer who apparently had his biggest hit before the majority of the houseguests were even born.

Here’s what we know for sure about Friday’s show:

Nothing

Seriously, there’s been a lot of speculation about Friday’s show but nobody knows anything for sure. A lot of people think that a juror will be competing for the chance to return but, if it turns out that Paulie or Corey has the return ticket, there wouldn’t be any need to bring in a juror.

A lot of people think that we’ll see the carnival during Friday’s show and that’s a definite possibility. Wednesday’s episode is going to feature Zingbot and it’ll end with the veto ceremony. (The carnival happened after the veto ceremony.) Thursday’s episode is going to feature the voting, Julie’s interview with the evicted houseguest, and a HoH comp. There’s not going to be a lot of time for carnival footage.

Here’s my guess: Friday’s episode will be the annual clip show. Previously unseen footage will be mixed in with scenes from the carnival. That’s my guess, anyway.

We’ll see if I’m right!

At least we get to see Zingbot tonight. Maybe even more of Paulie crying. That’s always fun. Plus we will get to see the footage of Paul doing his security checks. Those make me laugh.

Other than that, I can’t wait for BB to be over as everything except Lisa’s blog feels like a waste of my time.

Watching Big Brother After Dark. Say what you will about Victor, at least he cleans up after himself.

And somebody get those sunflower seeds away from Michelle! Watching her eat is almost as bad as listening to Paul talk.

WTH is up with the sunflower seeds?!? When (if ever) have any of those lazy girls cleaned up the kitchen…DaVonne cleaned a few times and maybe Bridgette but I’ve never seen Nicole, Michelle or Ratalie hit a lick! James is so far up Ratalie’s a– and she is phony as a 3 dollar bill…how old is she 12?!? Victor is the man…I wish him the best AND he is clean. 😉

Thanks Lisa for another great write-up. I was so bored with to-
night’s show, but you managed to find humor to liven things up.

Erin: I didn’t know what Meech was eating, but I wanted to reach
inside my set and grab it from her. She makes such loud smacking
noises when she eats. She and Nat are the very worst for this season.
I have come to the conclusion that before any guest is allowed on
the set, they should have to go through a training program. They
would learn about sound effects when eating with a mic, how to
keep the house clean (at least reasonably), good explanation of
how the game is played, that laying in bed most of the time is
poor BB playing and will earn penalty votes or the docking of their
pay checks, and a short course on how to speak without every other
word being the “f” bomb. Then it wouldn’t matter the age or lack
of experience with the game prior to coming into the house. But
I’m a dreamer or a fool. Take your pick, it won’t ever happen. 🙂 🙂

Sherry… Totally agree with you. Lip smacking pig sty. Table manners are my pet peeve and the late Joan Rivers too. Many years ago, like more than 20, she was interviewed and gave an etiquette lesson on how to properly use silverware when eating soup and fish. (Why I remember that part I don’t know.) But in her typical funny way she demonstrated how a neanderthal eats vs one who is cultured. When I watch the Kardashians eat I can’t help but think about Joan Rivers and imagine how she’d rip on them. Yes, I admit I watch the Kardashians…I mean even I need a break from politics. 😆

Sherry, you are a dreamer AND a fool. Just like me. Eating class would be awesome. Nicole is a loud eater also. I think making repetitive noises like finger/hand drumming and the bouncing of anything on the counters and bag crunching should be either a class in how not to or that the repetitive noises should be edited out. Grrrrr! I annoy easily.

Thanks Lisa! Once again you manage to take a mind numbing BBAD and turn it into a vet enjoyable read. 😊 I skipped the last hour of it last night because it was already a chunk of my life I’d never get back!! And I started watching it tonight but almost as bad as the night before.
I need BBAD to be better!!! Mon and Tues night on TV has been a wasteland. I do not watch Bachelor drivel. Especially that island crap. The other stations had like NCIS reruns and the Olypics. 🙄 I’m proud of our athletes but the Summer Olympics are not my thing. I watch all of the winter ones do I make up for it there. 😉 So for two nights I have watched Everybody Loves Raymond reruns followed by 8 people lying in their beds!!! I going bonkers!!! With the rain and humidity thrown in, I feel like I have cabin fever!!! Lol

Do you know what is wrong with Nat? I got it might be her time if the month, but she’s been getting sick and only eating Saltines. She must have caught a bug if some kind. She told James her Ex would never take care of her line he did. I think he has been really good for Nat and I know she really really cares for him. Too bad she’s not in love!! She uses being on TV to stay away from him physically now. How is going to keep that up Once they are out??

Haven’t watched much as we have company tonight. Will be back later if I can get thru more. Lol

Hi Star! Not much happening! Jeanne and I are watching Netflix. Murdoch Mysteries. It has 333 episodes! We are on the third season, episode 7. (about 30 episodes so far!) It’s very good if you like mysteries with a lot of humor thrown in. It shows crime scenes, bodies, and corpses getting disassembled by a beautiful doctor, who is Sheriff Murdoch’s love interest. William Murdoch is so handsome! I mean REALLY good looking!
P.S. Natalie is still eating crackers!! 😴😴😴😴😴

Hey Star…Nat was puking last night and then this morning got her period. Add the neck and she’s an all around wreck!

The Olympics screwed up my Housewives and other than that it’s cable news 24/7. Have never watched the Bachelor…nope not once. I too prefer the winter over the summer games. BBAD is boring tonight. I fast forward thru much of it.

It’s lonely tonight…guess I’ll go to Twitter.

Everything is sort of on hiatus now until after Labor Day!! Millions of channels and nothing to watch!!! the news shows are the best thing on! At least they aren’t reruns!!lol I watch World News Tonight all the time. Have for years. And cannot make myself watch anything Bachelor related! Maybe if I was younger but…..nope…….still wouldn’t.lol

2nd nite in a row I bailed on BBAD. I always forget how bad it gets as the numbers wittle down!!!! Seems like the twins and Austin kept it more interesting last season! This group is a YAWN!!!!

Bravo Star…Ratalie complains about how fat she is but lays in the bed and eats an entire package of crackers while James lays watching her adoringly!?! This group of girls are the worst ever… whiney, sloppy, poor hygiene, fake, etc. 😉

Jolee. That isn’t the worst part. She was chewing with her mouth open and you could see the mushed up crackers in her mouth. And then she started talking with her mouth full! I swear, no one is taught manners of any kind anymore. Which is a sad statement on society. SMH. 🙄

Sirrock August 17, 2016 at 8:17 am: Star – I fucking HATE when people eat with their mouth open. Your description just gave me a PTSD type flashback from my youth! I’m half joking about it being PTSD, but it really stuck with me and kinda changed me as a person so maybe it’s a good label?

My mom made some Campbell’s soup for us, I was maybe 8 or 9 yrs old, my brother would have been 12-13. I’d break up a few crackers and eat them in the soup. I’d maybe put like 2 in my bowl, break it in to four pieces, and just kinda eat a chunk with a spoonful of soup. Pretty normal. I liked them to soak in some soup, but not get too soggy.

My brother took maybe 15-20 crackers in a stack, put them between his hands and mashed them together so all the crumbs that fell into his bowl. Then he chopped up the bigger pieces and mixed it all into his soup, so it had the consistency of oatmeal. After that, he ate the bowl right in front of me (sitting across the kitchen table) with his mouth open for every disgusting, sloppy sounding bite. I can picture it now, clear as day. I’ve had this image stuck in my head for about 30+ years.

Talking abut open mouth chewing and crackers brought it flooding back! haha….but it’s always there….lurking. 😉 So weird what types of things never leave you, huh? He always had horrible table manners as a kid. Drove me insane and almost made me paranoid about it in myself in the opposite manner. I always thought about how much I hated it so I made sure I never ever ate like that in front of anyone ever. I guess I don’t think about it much anymore since it’s just a habit to, you know…..eat like a civilized human. 😀

My parents were a stickler on manners at teh table. I sat next to my dad and if I leaned on the table or didn’t keep my hand in my lap, I got a fork on the hand!(just teh back!!) We would get called out if we ate anything like that. We also had to ask to be excuded and no phone calls during dinner!! But it made me who I am today. I don’t think families eat together anymore, so kids just don’t learn any of this!!

BTW..I used to eat my tomato soup like that too…like you did. Haven’t done it in years!! Funny how we were all so much alike back then. People sure hae changed!!!

Also, if anyone will remember, you will. Do you remember a girl from Florida on BB that always wore track suits??? She was blonde and I think maybe she knew Rachel?? I am blanking on even what season she was in! But other than her ugly Mob choice of clothes, I always commented on how she ate with her mouth open!!!! And she smacked too!! These HGs need to be a little more aware that they are on camera 24/7! Sad thing is, she prolly doesn’t know she’s doing anything disgusting!!lol

So what’s up with Natalie’s neck? The last 2 nights on BBAD she’s been lying in bed pouting about the weight that she has gained and complaining she can’t fit into her clothes anymore. Paulie grilled her a bit…sounds like he is suspicious that she is faking it. He was restrained… He asked why didn’t she call for a medic WHEN MEECH PASSED OUT. Huh? Meech passed out? Was Natalie injured during the carnival or is it stress? I’m not sure what I think of her…keep changing my mind. I hope she’s not playing James.

junkies……can’t remember if I said it here or elsewhere but I think Nat cares for James as a good friend, but that’s it. So she uses being on camera, her period, not feeling well, anything to keep him from getting too close!!! But she should have been more open about that….like Meg was!!! She made sure he KNEW they were JUST friends!!!! And I think James suspects…he just doesn’t want to see it!

I heard Paulie say that too. I thot he meant that Meech had done that at some point earlier in the show. I took it as him saying the medic came then so if she felt so bad, why wouldn’t she tell them? But I could’ve missed something. They are always whispering so you can’t hear anything clearly!!!

I was on FB when you said you were bored. Are you on??? Let me know and we can add each other!! 😉 I’m not on Twitter. It sounded like a time sucker and tht it could be nasty, so I never signed up.

Hi, Junksies, while reviewing the blog today, I had to stop and respond to your blog about Natalie. I think she’s been playing James from the beginning.

I personally don’t think she feels anything for James. I think she scouted him out in the beginning and saw an easy mark and crawled up beside him for his protection to extend her time in the game; a mark she could control that LISTENS to everything she says, then he presents her ideas to the game leaders as his own while she sits back and smiles. The girl came to play the game.

James is a grown man and he has been this route before. They are there to compete to win $500,000. I believe she’s using him because he has opened himself up for her to use. I personally DON’T think she wants James, but HE has taught her she can manipulate him any time she wants just by dropping the tone of her voice when she wants him to AGREE to do her bidding. Like her or no, she’s playing her game.

Right now she still needs his protection to get a little further in the game. However; if she continues to survive, and she sees a way where she no longer needs James; she will rear her head out from under his protection to make her move. At that time if Jame’s attempts to pull her back (under his protection), she will rear her head and turn to BITE him.

James has to remember she is ALSO there to win the money. In the PAST I was a fan of James… but this season no longer…

There were past contestants that fell in love, I doubt that is the case for here. James seems to feel he has fall in love every time he comes on the show.

Did a little digging about Ziggy Marley. Of course, since I’m almost 42, I remember his popularity in the late 80’s with his band, “Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers”.

Turns out he won a Grammy award in 2014 for “Best Reggae Album” and for the younger kids or those not into music, he’s the son of the late great Bob Marley.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say he’s signed to some CBS music company. He new album came out earlier this year and he was a “guest star” on CBS’s “Hawaii 5-0” playing new music in a bar or something. CBS must really want to try and get him some more cheap/free publicity.

I’m not a big Reggae fan, but he is pretty talented. I remember seeing him on an episode of the show “Counting Cars” where he got his dad’s car complete redone, and he couldn’t be a cooler guy. I guess we’ll see how that goes over on BB. Seems like an odd fit, but who knows…..might be fun.

I guess I’d take dumb Jesse and Ziggy over HORRIBLE Frankie and his stupid sister Ariana Grande. 😀

I agree with you about Reggae…never been a fan. think it prolly sounds better with a joint!!lol I bet the HGS would have appreciated Frankie and his sis more but I sure wouldn’t!! Seems like the Production on this show is cheap and lazy!! Jesse is always ready and available and if Marley is on their label then he may have even been FREE! BB just isn’t up to standards as it used to be!! IMO.

I remember Sheryl Crow singing there. I cannot believe that was S3!!! How time flies!!!!

At the beginning of the season, Paulie being in nothing but an apron baking pies would be SUPER HOT, but since his show nance with Z where he acted like a total douche to her, plus his complete douche-baggery since getting put on the block, the thought of Paulie being in nothing but an apron makes me wanna say 😖. Here’s hoping he does not have the round trip ticket!

Sherry…..the reason the room James, Nat and Paul sleep in is cleaner is they did a huge cleaning job Monday with Natalie bitching the whole time. What caused the burst of energy was Natalie was pissed at James for some obscure reason and was busy cleaning and he joined in trying to suck up to her. Paul was nowhere in sight! I don’t think I have ever seen Paul clean anything! lol

Sherry…. we do know how to cook us some crawfish! I have a friend who is cajun and is one of the best cooks I know. Only thing, she uses way to much pepper! Her etouffe and jambalaya is unbeatable. My sister is a fabulous cook also.

She says she is not going to be able to play in the HOH comp because she is too sick. James is right there kissing her ass. If he was my BF he would get on my last nerve with all the hovering. If I was young and dating, I would see james the same way as Meg and nat……just a really nice guy who is a good friend. He just doesn’t have something that attracts women in the way he wants, IMO. Not trying to be mean, but I get where those girls are coming from. However, Meg was truly a friend and had his back. Even hung out after the show. But Nat is using her womanly wiles to use him! Sherry…..made it to work great. No rain this morning but as I speak it is clouding up and supposed to be raining this afternoon, night and the rest of the week. I don’t have to worry about it the rest of the week because I don’t work on Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday so I can stay home, watch the feeds, blog and read! Sounds like fun for me.

Sirrock….. That was hilarious about the table manners. I shouldn’t have had my mouth full of a beverage! I can just picture the scene. I eat my soup the same way with the crackers. lol
I also feel the same way Frankie and his anti-America Sister. They both make me sick. Whenever she is on TV you can always see him in the audience jumping up and down in his seat, clapping his hands and I always change the channel. I see they still haven’t evicted him on BB Celebrity in UK.

She has no interest in him whatsoever. I have heard it from her own mouth when she was talking with Bridgette. You must admit, she plays it very well. She has obviously had a lot of experience.

@Karlia…. I so agree. It’s hard for Michelle to clean when she’s always in bed! I swear, that girl must have some kind of sleeping sickness. I have never seen anyone who sleeps as much as she does. She occasionally gets up to eat, says she’s tired and goes right back to bed.

I have a non BB related question to those out there that have children. I have no kids so I have no clue.

Here where I work a lot of the employees bring their children to work and they play (and worry the snot out of me) in the room next to the office. The parents do not bring them anything to play with or to occupy their time so I bring them puzzles, toys and coloring books. One little girl, adorable, is 10 years old. This little girl does not know how to color. She just blobs the paints or colors all over the page, not in the lines or anything. Shouldn’t she know how to do that by now? I know I did when I was little. I loved to color and took pride in picking the colors and coloring within the lines. She just puts one big blob all over the page????

On the last show I caught something. Nat was talking to Victor and Paul. If I’m not mistaken they we trying double check votes to ensure they get Pauli out.

They were telling Nat to be sure Mich was on board with what was going down no matter what Pauli might say to her. I think Nat temporally forgot her place in the lineup and forgot herself. Instead of just saying, “yes, I will take care of it and talk to her”, she said: (“Oh, don’t worry about her, she will vote ANYWAY I tell her to vote). Go back and look at Paul and Victor’s faces. They listened to her showing off her control over Mich and they both froze at her comment.

Be careful what u say, it can come back and bite u later.

@Star….I remember her also. She had three track suits she wore all season, Gray, Pink and some other color. She said on the show that she didn’t know until the last minute she was going to be on the show and the clothes that she brought were unacceptable to BB so they went out and bought those for her! Can’t remember her name. But she got pretty far.

@M Doc……. I said the same thing last night! The pain in her neck, other than james, bothers me. IF she’s not faking, that shouldn’t come with a period or the flu! Unless it was just part of a headache she got from them. If she’s not faking, she really should have a medic examine her. I wonder if she is running a temp??? Maybe BB thinks she is faking too so isn’t worried. Otherwise, the whole house could be infected!!!!

I just said faking three times…….lol Oh well.. Shes not worth looking for more descriptive words to fit her nasty ways….lol

Also, she lies in bed with her arms above her head, cramping
her shoulder muscles. But a simple check by a doctor should
clear things up and needs to be done in case she is contagious.
Her not wanting to see a doctor seems suspicious, too.

Jolee, I’ve watched Murdock Mysteries for years on BBC. He’s quite a hunk! Plus I love mysteries. I’d rather watch a show with a murder than romance. Save your comments, people. I’ve already had plenty of therapy. Didn’t help. : )

Besides Netflix and CBS All Access I subscribe to Acorn, the best in British TV. Lots of murder mysteries. : ) Midsomer Murders has been a fav of mine forever. Started watching it on PBS years ago. Eighteen seasons.

I also love Ripper Street on BBC. Mathew McFadden. Not much romance and a lot of angst.

Right now I’m binging on Hell On Wheels on Netflix. Production is the best ever. I feel the need for a shower after every episode. Goes a long way towards realism for the time. Not sure this would be your cup of tea, Jollie.

Margie, glad you made it to work A-ok. Even more pleased you get to stay home and dry for the next 4 days. Up here in central AR, food trucks from LA set up on the side of the road. They throw out a few picnic tables and sell heaps of crawfish. I’m more an etoufee kind of gal.

Frankie was on an episode of prime time Price Is Right. He is worse than ever. He and Jesse must have heard how stomach turning they are.

Sirrock, I’m trying not to let your story of the oatmeal-like soup ruin me forever. I love soup. Vegetarian vegetable is my favorite breakfast.

Smacky Natty is a piece of work. James should be smart enough to see through her. Texas Code is fine and admirable, but he’s losing sight of the $500000 prize for someone who is using him. Why is it obvious to everyone but him?

One last thing. (I can hear the applause from all across America!) When Paulie went after Nat as she went through the door and asked why he was attacking her, he grabbed at the red sheet and pulled it up close. A very insecure thing to do…and I hope it wasn’t for another reason. Besides him spouting the most inane, insane things, he was really showing his fear and lack of education.

I agree about Meech!! I liked her better as a quiet underdog! the more she talks, the more I amnot so crazy about her! And he smacking sunflower seeds…ALL last nite on BBAD!! UGH! I seriously am not sure I can keep watching that the rest of the season. As the numbes wittle down , if people aren’t talking game or DOING something at night, it is SO boring!! And most of these HGS are on my last nerve anymore. I am sort of over this season already!!!
At least last season, James was always up for that blowling game thing they did woth pots and pans. And Steve, the twins and Austin played too. Not riveting but better than everyone snuggling in bed or sleeping!!! 😛

Be careful driving home. I have the news on right now and it’s showing the flooding in our downtown and businesses that have had to close!! Not much rain here the last 2 days, just a couple of showers. Then the sun comes out and it gets steamy!! But it was enough Monday to do a lot of damage!!! We are due to get more for the weekend tho…naturally!!! lol

The rain and thunder just started here again about 30 minutes ago. I work at a wholesale plant nursery (I do the books) and the workers are still out working in the pouring down rain! Go figure.

I’m beginning to think it’s a good thing for Meech to sleep all the time. When she’s up talking all she does is talk bad about people and it’s usually not game talk. She is busy hating on Nicole right now. She is a typical ‘mean girl’. She even talks like she’s asleep. Go back to bed Michelle! She is telling Victor how the feeds and the blogs work and you can tell she is NOT a super fan like she claims. If she was she would know a lot more about how it all works.

On another note, Paulie is baking another apple pie.

I like Victor but he sure does like to bragg on himself. Maybe that’s why he and Paul get along so well. I haven’t heard from Paul all day and that is some kind of record. I like the quiet.

Margie, when I was about 6 my best friend Sylvia who was a year older told me she wasn’t going to let me color in her coloring book unless I stayed within the lines and picked colors that were appropriate to the subject. Paraphrasing a 7-year-old here. I guess she wasn’t a blue pig kind of kid. I made a big deal out of choosing a color but I didn’t know what I was doing. That one comment colored (pun) my whole life.

These days, children are encouraged to think outside the box and be different.

I never had any children either, Margie, but I did used to be one. This 10-year-old may just be expressing herself via blobs. Art is subjective, and she may be starting a new trend in art or giving a cry for help. By 10 a lot of kids have their own iPad to play on. It’s sweet of you to bring things for the kids since their parents don’t seem to bother.

I showed her how she could shade the pictures by pressing harder on the crayon to make the picture contoured instead of flat! 😊 She blesses me every day! I was going to do an update but I was waiting for more news. I did type one out but it VERY LONG so I deleted it. This will be long…..but I’ll try to keep it from going out of control. Been a crazy bad week of ups and downs here.

Long story short, he’s doing much better and will be leaving he hospital to go to a nursing home for a bit to gain strength. His kidney’s are bad but don’t seem to be damaged any more than they already were. 8 years ago he had an health issue and his kidneys were pretty bad then. Five is the worst on the scale, he was a four, that was then. He’s still a four now.

Because of that, it’s to risky for him to take the dye in order to do the scan needed to see what his heart issue is, as far as blockages and what not. It will damage his kidneys and he could end up on dialysis permanently. He does have a valve that is not working properly and a life long murmur, but those were pre-existing to this. They know more has been damaged but can’t tell without the test.

So as of now, he’s on a meds to regulate his heart beat. He’s fully awake and eating soft/bland foods. He’s doing some physical therapy in the hospital but will focus on that more in the nursing home. He’ll be on an oxygen tank for now….maybe for ever….just kinda depends. His heart isn’t oxygenating his blood like it should. Probably won’t ever again, but time will tell.

All in all, he’s doing well, but he could have another heart attack and it could take him out. But my stepmom, me, and my sister agree it’s too risky to do the test and he would HATE if he had to go to the hospital 3 times a week for dialysis. I think he’d rather die…in fact I know he would rather gamble on this. It can be revisited later, once he’s stronger.

He was very hostile yesterday, swearing at everyone, yelling he wanted to go home. It was pretty bad from what my step mom said. It got to the point that she called me to ask if I could stay with them for a while to help him, just to calm him down. They wouldn’t release him because he cant walk and hes a big dude and my stepmom is tiny. That’s where I would come in to stay and help him. I agreed. He got some rest and calmed down. I think the meds to knock him out were making him act out, but he for sure wants out of there, no question about it. He never yelled about going home again. The next day (today) he got the news about going to the nursing home and he was on board so I won’t be staying with them. Day by day….that’s how it is now for him….but today was good news.

But of course, it seems like things can never be good for long. My brother who passed away recently, his wife had a kid before they met, Drew. he was 1 yr old when they met, he’s 26 now I think? A couple days ago, he had an accident at home and fell down the stairs, hit his head, and was rushed to the hospital. He has a bleed on his brain. He was sedated for 2 1/2 days and his pressure in his head was at 20. This morning they did a surgery and it went well….the pressure is down to 3 now. We have no idea if he’ll have any damage or what’s to come. I would have been there for her but she has family that is all over this and I’m dealing with my dad so it’s just kinda tough to do both. It’s been a shit show of a week for my family. My heart breaks for Pam, my sister in law. Lost her husband (my only brother) 11 weeks ago, now her only child is fighting for his life. Been a tragic 3 months for sure.

All that said, both had good news today so I’m hopeful how it goes…..cautiously optimistic…..we’ll say. Thanks for asking, this blog is full of great people and it’s really appreciated. I love just getting on here and forgetting how fucked up life can be and just talk BB with my “Seasonal Family” and take my mind off things and joke and laugh. Thanks again everyone! Keep them in your thoughts. 🙂

@Two….. a couple more British series on Netflix that are great are ‘The Fall’, ‘Happy Valley’, ‘Luther’, ‘Top of the Lake’. Another good one on Netflix is ‘The Killing’ which is American. You’ve probably already seen that one. All that I have mentioned are excellent IMHO. I love mysteries and like the ones that I can’t figure out the end. The Fall is one of my favorites. If you like foreign movies there is a French series called ‘Spiral’ that is great!

Macy, my dad also tapped our hands with his fork if we did something wrong at the table. We often would get the giggles and my dad would give us ” that look” and we would try to stop. One time my mom reached across the table to get the salt, and without thinking, my dad tapped her hand with his fork. My mom picked up her plate of spaghetti and very gently turned it upside down on my dad’s head. He had spaghetti drapped over his ears, and salad all down his shirt. Us kids just froze!!! All of a sudden we were all laughing, including my parents. I never eat spaghetti without thinking about that! 😊😊😊

I love all of you crazy people! I get home and read the comments made since I left work and laugh my butt off. Somebody get rid of all the pumpkin seeds also before Michelle wakes up!

Star…. I’m a bookkeeper for a wholesale plant nursery. We grow plants to sell to retail nursery outlets as well as places like Home Depot, Walmart, Lowes, etc. My boss also has a retail nursery in Austin, Tx and a plant brokerage businesss that I also do the books for. I worked 18 years in Radiology at a hospital, 18 years at CenturyLink (a telephone co) and now have been 9 years at the nursery. I absolutely love it! The main reason I like it is I am the only one in the office, my boss lives in another state, he pays me a huge amount, leaves me alone and lets me run the place! What more could you ask for? That’s why I can have the feeds running in the background because I am on my computer all day long. Instead of listening to music I listen to BB!

For years my hubby and I had a cleaning business on the side and I loved that too because we would go in, do our thing and leave. No one watching over our shoulder or telling us how to do our job!! Plus I always had to dress up for work before as i was in sales and interior design. It was nice to wear comfy clothes and to feel like we had accomplished something when we were done.
Now I do free lance ID but I miss working with the public. I love talking to people. So for now, I get all my talking out HERE!! lol

@Margie, my daughter learned to color at the age of. 2 but she went to pre school for 2 year old. Then when she was 3 she went to 3 year old pre school. And I would color with her at home. I still color but in those adult color books that are very intricate, and takes sometimes a few days to complete they are awesome. But it sounds like her mom and schools just are passing her by it’s a shame. My daughter could tie her shoe’s at 2 years old, then would go around the house and tie anything together like long curtains. Not bragging but at 4 she was tested and she has a photographic memory. It runs in my family, it passed me up. lol but I was good enough to pass everything in nursing school above 80 A’ and B’s ,…….. But really that mother should make time for seeing her daughter’s progress through her years, I dunno some people just don’t make time for their children. I am the last of 10 kids, my mom was able to be a stay at him mom, I was lucky. I also was able to be a stay at home Mom for 5 years, I was lucky too. 😄😄😄

swt…. Thanks for responding on that question. I felt like something must be wrong. She’s an adorable, tiny little girl with dimples that just makes you want to squeeze her. She is always coming up to me throwing her arms around me and telling me she loves me. How can you not love someone like that. I’ve been trying to teach her how to color and other things. She doesn’t speak very good English though!

I also love to color and my sister gave me a couple of those wonderful books. They are fabulous and fun!

@Sherry…..Actually he said he has a LOT to offer a woman! He can offer her good looks, a kind, sympathetic heart, he can squire her around to fabulous events and be dressed very well. He an introduce her to important people. He expects her to dress well also if she is going to be on his arm! On and on he went talking over everyone! It was a nightmare, everybody rolling their eyes and him twisting his hair at the back of his head like he always does! lol lol lol lol OMG He does love the sound of his own voice.

Margie, Sherry, I’ve seen all those series! In fact I just finished Prime Suspect. I love Helen Mirren.

Sherry, long ago I took care of a little boy for a few weeks while his regular babysitter was out of town. He was a lot like the little girl Margie described. He was polite and behaved beautifully….until his mom came to pick him up. Then he went wild, crawling under tables and going into the living room to open all the Christmas packages. He was desperate for his mother’s attention. Poor little kid.

I am north of Little Rock by LRAFB. The heat and humidity keep me indoors most of the summer, but fall, spring and most of winter I like being outside. Give me the 60s and 70s. Temperatures and decades both. : )

I wish I could respond to more comments, but the Reply doesn’t work for me. Posts go missing. Or at least are very hard to find. The Like button would be a great addition.

It would also be great if viewers were able to vote daily Like, Dislike, Loathe for the HGs. Forget Care Packages. Let us have an outlet. the HGs could be told how they rate or don’t rate. That would open some eyes. Of course, Meech would cry no matter how she rated. Between her and Nat, my tums bill is increasing substantially.

Sirrock….may I ask what happened to your brother? I feel so sad for your sister-in-law. She has really had a lot to bear in the last few months. She must be a very strong woman!

He had a heart attack, was only 45 years old. He was an owner/operator over the road truck driver. He specialized in flat bed hauls of huge over sized stuff. He loved it! He was at a stop and was taking off the super heavy tarps and straps to prepare to go in to unload, but he didn’t check in with the gate guy, so basically the place didn’t know he was there yet.

He had high blood pressure and we found out during the autopsy he had an enlarged heart as well…he never knew about the heart but he was on BP medication. Best we can gather, he started feeling woozy or knew something was wrong and climbed into his truck to either go lay down or get in the cool AC. He stopped midway of taking off the straps and tarps. The place he was at is huge, with a couple giant parking areas that truckers do their strapping or spend the night to leave in the morning so he just kinda blended in.

He was found dead in his truck the next morning by another driver from his company. He saw my brother never offloaded and his straps and stuff were all undone and looked like he stopped in the middle of what he was doing. He knew instantly something bad happened. They found him laying on the floor between the driver/passenger seats. When he went down, he hit his head and I guess was injured pretty badly. He laid there like that for about 15+ hours, not sure exactly. :'(

He lived in MN like me and was in Kentucky. It was such a cluster fuck getting info and his personal stuff back….and that is a huge story all unto itself. It was such a shock to all of us. My mom was just crying about it yesterday, and always does when he gets mentioned. It’s like we’re not really even over that, then all this happens 10 weeks later.

really had time to grieve fully yet. So it will be a longer than
normal grieving period. When grief is put on a back burner
until another time, it is harder to release it.
I went through a time when I, too, had no time to grieve as
things kept turning upside down in my life. It started with the death of my mother’s younger brother. He’d been in a coma
from a car accident for 14 years. Six weeks later my mom died
from breast cancer. Two months to the day of her death, my grandmother died.
During the treatment period for my mother’s cancer my oldest
son fell from his high chair and cracked his skull, developing
a huge hemotoma. I’d turned to lay the tray on the table right
next to me and before I could lay it down, he stood up and
fell over backwards. It happened so fast. My mother had cancer
could grab him. It happened so fast. My grandmother had to
come and live with us while Mother was in the hospital and
then had to be put in a nursing home because of dementia.
Within a year’s span I lost seven relatives. Within the next
couple of years I would lose my dad, my father-in-law, mother-
in-law, and a few more. I felt like the step child of Job.
It is said that God never gives us more than we can carry. But
there are times in life when our personal definition of en-
durance and God’s may seem vastly different. But He knows
us better than we know ourselves. There is always a light at
the end of every dark tunnel and a rainbow that promises
better days at the end of every storm. I’m praying that rainbow
comes soon for you.
