Big Brother 19 — Veto Speculation

Hi everyone!

Well, as we all know, the veto competition was held yesterday. If you’ve been watching the live feeds or reading the comments on this site, then you know that Paul won the veto!

Now, before anyone gets too excited, it appears that everyone — even Cody and Jessica — threw the comp. Jessica and Cody have their hex so it’s not like they needed the veto. Kevin never wants to win anything because that would require him to take a definite stand on something that’s going on in the house. Raven is the same way. I’m a little bit surprised that Jason apparently threw the comp but, then again, it was a memorization comp and Jason’s never exactly been a cerebral player.

Anyway, now that Paul has the veto, there’s been a lot of speculation online and in the house about what’s going to happen next. Could Paul use the veto and somehow convince Jessica not to use the hex? Is it possible that Jessica will not use the hex and just allow Cody to walk out that door? Jessica herself has suggested that Paul should use the veto on Cody and then put Alex up in his place. Jessica believes that Alex would be voted out over her.

There’s still a lot of confusion over how the hex works. When Jessica received the Hex, Julie specifically said that the hex has to be used before the votes are cast. It’s kind of like an immunity idol in Survivor. You have to use it before the votes are announced (or, in the case of Big Brother, cast). However, Jessica was telling Cody that she thinks she might be able to use it after the votes are cast. When last I checked, she was even heading to the diary room to get clarification.

Meanwhile, Paul and Raven are still convinced that, when Jessica uses the hex, that means that Paul will be allowed to nominate someone in Jessica and Cody’s place. No! It doesn’t work like that! Still, they were talking about possibly backdooring Alex after Jessica uses the hex. Raven is even volunteering to go up on the block, against whoever Paul wants out of the house.

So, here’s my prediction. There’s going to be a lot of speculation because, honestly, it’s going to be a boring week if people don’t at least spend a little time scheming. But, in the end, Paul is not going to use the veto. (Unless, of course, he decided to help out Jason and take him off the block. But, in that case, there would be no replacement nominee.) And Cody may be talking about how he’s given up and how he just wants to leave the house but Cody hates Paul too much to give him the satisfaction of forcing him out. Jessica is going to use the hex on Thursday and, if she doesn’t, she’s a fool.

But who knows? To be honest, I never thought Jessica would be silly enough to not use her veto on Ramses. This is a strange week in a strange season so we’ll wait and see what happens!

Hope so but I don’t think she is really that strategic. If I played I’d mess with their head!! I’m just so disappointed that she opened up her mouth about the Hex in the first place. Grrrr!!

From what I have read… In the Veto Competition – Kevin and Raven tied for second with just one number less than Paul – who had a score of 22. Cody came in next (even without studying – or with help from Production?). And I can’t see that Jason would chance throwing the comp with himself on the block… So I am doubtful that the competition was thrown – just my humble opinion.

Alex hitting Jason is childish immature behavior similar to that of a 1st grader who has a crush on a boy. Can’t take her loudmouth that can be heard while she is in any other room. She instigates Josh because she likes chaos. Stop fiddling with your hair…it’s annoying!! It’s like One Flew Over the Coocoo’s Nest.

Jason telling Kevin he’s been telling DR to get rid of Xmas. He’s sick of her telling him “get my water, rub my back, fix my shoe…” She is guilt-tripping him for her injury. Kevin said it was her fault too. Ah, yeah…Jason wasn’t riding his own back!! I thought she was supposed to be having therapy 3 times a week? I wonder what happened with that…

Poor Cody…he’s got a lack-of-caffeine-headache inflicted by Devil Paul. THAT is a form of physical injury and the DR should tell Devil Paul that he needs to fix the coffee swap. Who were his accomplices…?…Alex and who else? Was it Kevin? That’s just plain old dirty play.

I to am so sick of Alex. I can not wait to see Paul and her face when nobody is evicted this week. I am so rooting for Cody and Jessica. I know there is no way they will make it to the end but I really wish they could. That would be the perfect payback for Paul and his puppets. They disgust me with how they treat Cody Jessica and even Mark. I have never seen so many spineless people in one room.

Once Jessica and Cody go I will pretty much disconnect from my summer obsession and that is the first time EVER that I’ve even thought of not watching. I despise the others sooo it will be nearly impossible to watch.

Paul should be DISQUALIFIED for inflicting physical pain on Cody albeit indirect. I’m dead serious about this. I hope Cody realizes what is happening to him and somehow someway would call out Paul and BB on it.

Jessica baby girl…you should be careful about calling anybody an idiot…you earned that title a couple of times yourself.

I quite enjoyed the confused expressions on everyone’s faces tonight at nom ceremony…especially Devil Paul’s.

Margie. She has hated Alex ever since Cody told her he respected her when she came in second to him in first comp. then he strategied with her during his HOH. So she’s always been jealous. Which makes her a dirty and dangerous player!

Paul really went all out earlier, trying to convince Jessica that she’s safe and she shouldn’t use the hex. When Jessica pointed out that he was asking her to stab her boyfriend in the back, Paul replied that he was asking her to make “a big game move.” Paul also agreed not to trash Cody during his veto speech.

After Jessica left the HoH room, Paul told Christmas that he’s sure that he’s convinced Jessica not to use the hex. Jessica, however, told Mark that she wasn’t convinced but she is worried that Cody might not want to be in the house anymore.

Mark is currently angry that Elena keeps talking to Josh.

I like Jason somewhat but why is he bitching about Christmas….He leans on her and aggravates her so she mouths off to him. I’m done with Alex. I almost hope Jess uses the hex.

At this point in the game, the only two people I am rooting for are Jessica and Cody! Only because of the way Paul is being a total jerk! I am pretty sure that when Cody takes one sip of the coffee, ☕ he will know the difference. I have gone from regular to decaf and back to regular and I could definitely tell the difference! I hope Cody has a good palate! 😕
The only thing that will make my day, is when I see the snake slither out of the BB house. I realize Paul is playing a smart game, but I have always been for the underdog and the bullied person.
So, goodbye Paul ! It can’t be soon enough.👋 I hope there will be a double eviction soon and some smart HG (if there are any,) will take a gigantic move and backdoor Paul! We still haven’t watched tonight’s BBAD, so I don’t know how things are in the house! Maybe by the time I get up tomorrow, there will be some comments.

I agree 100%. The two of them act like 3 years old. Everyone in the house is fed up also. They start up every night just as BBAD is coming on for camera time and when they start everyone is the house says ‘here they go again’. Even they are tired of it.

Anyone following the Matt/Elena/Josh soap??
Elena told Mark no more shomance. Nothing personal. So he’s moping around the house and crying to Cody.
Elena was moping too so Josh tried to find out why. She told him about Mark and he said of course he wouldn’t say a word. FF TO Five minutes later and he’s telling Kevin all about it. Do not trust anyone in that house but especially those two!!!!
Then Elena was pouting about being a HN..,. The others being Christmas and Alex. So Josh said they should go ask the DR if he could take her week. So they did a DR together and came out all. Iffy buddy. Elena was even painting his nail black! I do do not trust that Josh is this nice guy at all!!! I wonder what he’s up to. She’s not in power if any kind. I’m thinking he just wants a bigger way to
Mess with Mark. Smh
I keep trying to find someone to root for in there and I just can’t find anyone. Every time I settle in somebody they turn into a jerk. Or worse! Lol. Oh well.

Omg!! Now Raven dumped a whole bag of flower on Matt in the shower and she is screaming at him to go to the DR with her. Obviously jelly of what Josh and Elena did. Such a frigin Drama Queen!!!!!!!! 😱

That was the fastest shot around he world I’ve seen! LOL

Josh knows a Ho when he sees one so he thinks it’s his turn and if it irks Mark all the better.

Have yall notice how much Paul is like satan? I think Dom may have been onto something. He is slithering around whispering g lies into everyone’s ears and they are listening to him. They all want to be part of his world. He has his minions that aid him, maven I call them. He is so deceptive. BUT final chapter…..he loses. Who will save the day. Really all just a bunch of lost sheep except Cody. He said from the start he didn’t like him or trust him. Surely jess doesn’t trust him. If she does she needs to go home too.

Cathy…absolutely I’ve noticed…just last night I posted that he is sitting at the right hand of the Devil. He gives the darkest most evil stink eye ever. Black empty eyes. I hope the final chapter plays out IN the BB house and he loses. Cody has the gift of discernment, Paul knows it and that is why there is this epic good/evil battle between the two.

He has been alone for a long time you can tell. He had a good heart but 8 years in the Marines makes a person hard, I promise you that. I don’t think he will explode unless someone calls him a murderer or say something about him killing people. He may flash back for a second and that may be the straw that broke the camels back. But 8 years in the military and commanding officers screaming in your face and being total a*****es he is trained to sick it up.

I’ve quit watching BB. I cannot stand watching any more Josh. My best girlfriend stopped watching 2 weeks ago for the same reason. I MAY start watching again when and if Josh and Paul are gone. I still keep up with Lisa’s blog (great job!!!!!) and all your wonderful comments. Reading about Josh and Paul doesn’t make me as nauseous as looking at them and what they do and say. ICK

I thought that the purpose of this game is to win the money for yourself? When are these idiots going to stop handing it to Paul? Anyone who saw his season knows he is a great puppet master. Last year he lost to someone who was cute and a bit ditzy and loved so he will definitly not take Raven to the finale, he will get rid of all the heavy competitors so that leaves Josh. He is not a mental or a physical threat and people laugh at him. House guests, wake up! Do you want to hand $50,000 to Josh? Start playing this game!

I’d love him to win but if it comes down to paul or josh…give it to josh…throw it into the audience, donate it, burn it….just someone don’t let paul get it because he may be smart but so am I with a group of five year olds.

I am so OVER Raven and Matt! Get them out! … And no one is going to go against Paul until they are sure they are safe and potentially collecting money in the Jury house! (which is apparently the golden ring on the merry go round)

People just think about it! If and when they vote Paul out you know exactly what will happen. Then blank eyed cold staring Cody and Jealous Jessica takes over and it is the very same thing in reverse. So as long as Paul is there at least it keeps things interesting. Do you really want to watch the rest of this dead cast the rest of the summer kissing up to Cody and Jessica! I for one do not. Cody is not that nice a person. He even told Jessica that. He also told her last night that he did not approve of her having guy friends. He is a controlling emotionless jerk!

But if Paul doesn’t get evicted soon he will win the season and I would not want him to be the winner. You are right about the puppy dogs following Paul at the moment and if he is gone the puppies will all get in line and follow Jody.

I listened to Cody apologizing to Jess for his temper. Jess said he’s been in the military ten yrs. Cody says he has no friends and for some reason not close to his family.im starting to see that he is very insecure though when you look at him you think ….why? My oldest daughter is like that. She’s beautiful but feels she’s not and is awful to me but admired by people who don’t live with her. Jess is nasty and says sexual things that Cody responds with “can’t you be an example for young girls?” Something like that…he was grossed out by Jess and elana talking gross sex. He saw her flip off her bra and put another shirt on, quickly but right in front of the two way mirror and Cody wide eyed said Jess, Really?…she forgot she said….(that men are watching)Cody has said many things I don’t like but so has most of them. I’m starting to see Cody being more mature than Jess…off and on…I think they tag team making poor decisions. Cody did say he has no money, he goes home after midnight because there’s only bad things going on after that time. He told Jess if she gets disrespected by some guy and he’s with her that he’ll let her handle it. He seems to want to please her but I feel she may dump him if he won’t live her more expensive lifestyle. I think she’s spoiled. I’ve never had a manicure or ped. I don’t have a cell phone or my own car. Cody also said he’s a loner and I do understand that….I’m the same way. So compared to loud mouth ‘I am god’ paul….I’d rather Jody run the place and as wimpy as everyone else is…who cares if they feel Jodys wrath?

As much as I don’t like Paul, at least he is playing the game and keeping it interesting. If he is gone, we have the following left: Matt and Raven throwing various food items as each other; Christmas roaming around on her scooter offering her two cents on everything; Josh talking about meatballs; Jessica and Cody locked in their own little world; Mark still pursuing Elena; and Alex and Jason talking strategy but not really acting upon it. At least Kevin is entertaining. I read Jessica was telling Cody about one of her straight male friends who even kisses males on the lips. I want to be a fly on the wall when some guy tries to kiss Cody.

Jessica is a VIP Concierge – which means a lot of socializing – and working evenings as part of her profession. As jealous as Cody is… I just don’t see him tolerating what she does after the show is over. I worked in the association industry which partners with the hotel and convention industry and you have to be used to people hugging you when you greet – lots of diversity of people… You must be pleasant all the time! How are they going to make that work? It’s not!

I just realized after writing this that I know someone just like Cody – and that is why I don’t like him. My co-worker had a jealous boyfriend who assumed she was always cheating on him when we had to work at conventions – They got married anyway- and he is a horrible ex-husband and father of her two children – with anger issues to this day. I just can’t get onboard supporting him…

JuJu …. Cody told her last night he did not like her having men friends which should be a red flag waving over her head!!! When she was telling him about one of her men friends that kisses other men on the mouth when he is greeting them he said ‘he better not try to kiss me’. Cody does not like gays or transgender people as I have heard him say.

If she doesn’t do something with her hair I bet she won’t have the job long. You can see her extensions attached..metal or something and she has bald spots. I so want to pull them all out, cut her hair to her chin, then condition her head everyday and feed her vitamins and healthy foods. She’s a pretty girl but she looks like she’s had a rough night on the street especially in her spider eyelashes. Cody told her he likes her in no make up. Who knows what will happen when bb is over?

Just finished reading 📚 all of your great comments! I stated last night that because of Paul’s actions toward Cody, I would be rooting for Jess and Cody! I would rather be a little bored than to see Paul’s face and his superior, condescending attitude! He is really evil, 😈 in my opinion. The coffee incident was really dangerous. Does anyone know if Cody had his coffee ☕ this morning? Just the fact that he is trying to get Cody mad enough I punch him, shows how immature he is. I know, it’s a game, no rules, except actually doing bodily harm!
If Cody is evicted, who in the house will actually have the guts to try and backdoor Paul? I sure can’t think of anyone! Maybe someone will actually discover Paul’s game???? Who???? We haven’t watched last night’s BBAD yet. There is still hope that someone will start thinking for themself and make a smart move! Ya think??? I am putting my hope on a double eviction SOON! I have never been this eager for eviction night … Thursday can’t come soon enough or me! Here I am actually wishing my life away? Sheese!!!😕I
One more thought ….. who has to clean up the messed the HG’S make?? Flour in the shower! That could do some harm! Remember when we made glue with flour and water? 😯😯 I think I’ve had my say! Now, so I want to watch BBAD or paint! How would you want to start your Monday?

I totally agree Jolee with you as I do not think anyone in there besides Jess and Cody really know what is going on with Paul. I can not personally watch someone like Paul win and take a Cry Baby like Josh to the end . And that is exactly what he will do ! This is the only season I have ever been so disappointed with Big Brother as it appears the Minions have stormed the house .

I heard Jason on a podcast last week (the grocery boy in the basement) who was the only Veteran to enter BIG Brother OTT last fall… He sounded much more mature and much smarter when he talked – and he said he learned the hard way that you can’t play like he and Ramses did. So when he got a second chance he knew he was going to be more devious. He came in second the second time. And that is the reason why it is unfair to have BB Veteran’s in the house! So although I don’t like Cody… I still think it is unfair to have Paul in the house.

Although Mark is a very basic and simple guy, I like him. He’s a nice guy w/ genuine feelings – it may not be the way you win bb, but I really do like him and I don’t think he would be obnoxious if he were to win HOH. Also, I admired his strategy in the ballerina competition. He’s not the brightest candle on the cake or the sharpest knife in the drawer – but he’s a good kid IMHO.

Bobo…..Jess does not have to be on the block to use the Hex. She can use it for the next two weeks. If she uses it this week that is the end of it. Also if she uses it it’s a dud week as no one that is on the block goes home. In other words, it’s pretty much a do over but Paul will still not be able to play in the HOH.

that was unbelievable the mess in bathroom – shower – carpet and apparently somehow shave cream got into toilet so much waste but the topper Jess spraying him in face with hairspray Production kept tell them to stop TOPPER Raven as always blaming him she continuously yelling at him to come to DR so she can show them she’s covered in soap such a waste. I think the game will begin when first evictee goes to jury funny late nite feeds no one seems interested in $5000K just want to get to jury cause we still get money but soon it will be ” Let The Game Begin “

Dorothy … Raven and Matt are just acting like silly children. I can’t believe Production doesn’t tell them to knock it off, especially putting stuff like flour in the shower. They have always had problems with the shower stopping up and if flour won’t do it nothing will. Even everyone in the house is tired of their childish behavior!

Listening to Jessica and Cody just now she is going to use the Hex. But they are counting up the different sides in the house and you can tell they have no idea what’s going on. She thinks Kevin, Alex, Jason and Josh are in an alliance and hate Paul. She thinks Paul, Christmas, Matt and Raven are a 4 person alliance also and that they do not like the other 4 person alliance. She is calling Mark and Elena floaters. Then there is the two person alliance of Jess and Cody. Not a clue!!!!

WTH!?! Raven screaming all over the house, throwing a fit (and stuff at Matt), Jessica spraying hairspray at Matt…Production needs to put a stop to all this juvenile activity! Production is putting up with a lot of sh*t from Raven.
Jessica and Cody are having sex, Jessica says she stuck 2 fingers up Cody’s ass, and Cody said he picks Jessica’s nose…disgusting TMI! Jessica is a HO no two ways about it and when all is said and done she will dump Cody for her “clients” (as she calls them).
Mark is acting like a girl over Elena…and she’s only dumping Mark because Paul told her to.
She just told Josh the biggest bunch of bs about how she is older than Mark and never was really into him…well she was into him when she sat around gushing over him rubbing all over her and saying how she had seen his wiener!?!
So what if Paul switched out the coffee…James put mayonnaise is Ratalie’s hair conditioner and her lotion. Besides if Cody is such a coffee pro then he should know he is drinking decaff!
I love Alex’s cat ears! They were around way before Arianna Grande starting wearing them…it’s a hipster thing.

At the moment Paul’s plan is to harass Cody to make him aggressive and then to have BB throw Cody out of the house when Cody loses his temper and becomes physical. Josh and Christmas like the plan, Matt doesn’t.
IMO it’s a sad, sad day when people can be so mean to another person. My opinion has nothing to do with who I like and don’t like in this game but we need kindness in our world…not bullying.
