Big Brother 19: Waiting For Paul’s Nominations

Hi y’all!

So, let’s see if I can keep all of this straight. As everyone saw last night, Jillian was voted out on an 8-4 vote. She was totally blindsided and, even more importantly, Cody and Jessica were blindsided. Jessica yelled at Christmas. Cody looked like he was incredibly angry. It was a classic moment in Big Brother history.

This was followed by the HoH comp. Even thought the live show ended right when the comp had started, live feeders and readers of this blog know that the new HoH is Paul!

Now, obviously, Cody is everyone’s target. As of right now, Cody pretty much only has one ally in the house and that’s Jessica. And, quite frankly, a showmance is not the same thing as a strong, strategic alliance. Over the past few seasons, Big Brother has really gone out of their way to encourage showmances. It would be nice if they would also tell houseguests that showmances usually lead to eviction.

Of course, Paul has to be Paul and that means that he can’t ever do anything the simple way. If anything, Paul’s downfall will eventually probably be a result of his tendency to overthink everything. The simple thing to do, of course, would be to nominate Jessica and Cody for eviction and then do everything possible to keep them from winning the veto. Even if one of them did when the veto, the other one would go home and leave the remaining player extremely weakened.

Instead, Paul has decided to backdoor Cody, by nominated two pawns. At first, he was planning on nominating Matt and Raven, which did not sit well with either of them. Eventually, they were able to convince Paul that it would be silly to nominate two allies for eviction, even if they were just pawns. So, briefly, Paul decided about using Kevin as his pawn. Kevin let him know that was not cool with him.

So, eventually, Paul settled on Alex and Josh. He has explained to both of them that they were just going to be pawns and that one of them will come off after the veto comp….unless, of course, Corey and Jessica win and use the veto. (If that happens, Paul has said that the target will become Josh.)

For some reason, Paul is also encouraging Ramses to go ahead and become the third nominee. I guess the idea is to make sure that Ramses plays for the veto but if Ramses wins the veto and uses it on himself, that’ll mean Paul won’t get to name a replacement. Does Paul really trust Ramses not to use the veto on himself?

Christmas won the ring of replacement. She has told Paul. With the ring, she can apparently take the place of any player in a veto competition. So, the plan is — if Cody gets selected to play for the veto — Christmas will take his place. But, since anyone can be randomly selected to compete for the veto, what if Christmas’s name gets randomly pulled out of the bag before Cody’s? Can she still switch out for Cody even if she’s already been selected?

(Add to that, how is Christmas going to compete anyway when she’s due to have surgery on her foot on Monday?)

This is just one of those plans that sounds like it could go wrong in so many different way.

But we’ll see what happens!

P.S. For the record, three houseguests received a curse as a result of Christmas accepting the temptation. Christmas told Paul that she selected Ramses, Jessica, and Cody for the curse.

Junksies….that is nothing new! It has been rigged from Season 1 for Production’s favorite. We all know that but we still watch. lol

Cody is about to blow up…he is going to go postal on someone before he leaves (or is carted off). Jessica is a Ho and won’t have anywhere to turn if Cody leaves first.

Thank you Lisa. Paul drives me crazy with his over the top analysts of every situation. Tone it down. At least he’s lighted up on the F bomb. Unlike Cody, Paul needs to listen to the other players and NOT be a lone wolf. It makes for a much happier household if everyone feels a part of it. Lisa, I really appreciate your analysis. You have a real talent for describing the goings on in the BB house. I agree with most everything you say! I have thought from the beginning that Paul should nominate Cody and Jessica. That way he is sure to get rid of one of them. Of course this could all be changed by the twists! I really don’t know who I would rather leave first. Cody is rude, moody, unfriendly and a jerk! Jessica is the woman who thinks she is the queen, and absolutely unhinged at being tossed out of her and Cody’s HOH castle. I believe she threatened to leave the house. Am I right??
Elena still drives me CRAZY!!!! Mark was trying to say something last night and she kept shushing him and actually put her hand over his mouth??? I hope she is evicted very soon.
Painting is calling me. I shall return to give you my best analysis, probably after B-BAD!

They had the Have Not nominations. They are dressed in costumes as frogs and have to hop everywhere they go. Cody is Not a happy camper. The have nots are Cody, Jessica, Cowboy. They are called Ve-toads. They have to wear the costumes for a week. Cowboy is loving it! The other two not so much.

This makes me so sad bc i like the way cody plays. He keeps his mouth shut. He doesnt let others tell him what to do. Hes a phenomenal game player. He had good strategy until the Temptation was revealed and then he was knocked off his feet couldn’t think quick enough what to do. All he would have had told Christmas is that he knew she wasn’t going to be voted out because he knew that she had the votes to stay she was just a pawn. But he didn’t didn’t think fast enough on his feet to do that. So yes it made him look guilty and now she’s gunning for him and he lost his Alliance. I would much rather see Jessica go home this week instead of him. I want to see him play some more. I think it’s very tacky and unfair that Paul got to be able to be head of household Plus have three weeks of immunity.

So early in the game it was difficult to determine who he could trust so he didn’t confide his plans to anybody. Normally that would be a good strategy but this time it backfired. He didn’t have time to find a person he could trust. Even Jessica was kept in the dark. It could have been an epic battle between him and Paul if he had more time. Anyhow it is what it is. Being a have not and now in a frog suit, talk about piling on!!

I’m finding this season really unfair. Let’s see, they bring Paul into
the house and Cameron leaves the first night. They give Paul a
protection bracelet and let him choose eight others (?) to also
receive the bracelets. Then they give him three weeks of protection
and allow him to keep that a secret from the HOH. Then they
make it so he gets the key to unlock a pass on slop. Then he gets to
play for HOH and wins. Next Christmas in allowed to stay after
her accident (which she brough on herself), instead of evicting
her and allowing the HOH to not have to put someone else up,
nor the house have to vote to keep Christmas. A lot of tension in the house could have been prevented by simply telling Christmas with her injury she had to go home.Paul is pushing his hatred of Cody to the limits and warning everyone to not change their minds about Cody, even if he goes to them and tells them he’s been converted to Christ.
Now Christmas just happens to get the temptation and can keep Cody from being able to play POV, even if his name is picked? And she’s saying she’s coming back the day of surgery?? Too much does not make sense or smell right. Poor Jillian has to feel cheated.
If she has foot surgery, she should not be coming back that same
day. What doctor is going to approve that?
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t condone the way Jessica and Cody
have behaved and the things they’ve said that hurt people’s feelings,
but I still think Cody was given a raw deal, and it just keeps getting
worse. I would feel this way if anyone was put in his position.

Totally agree with you Sherry! Paul has been given too many advantages for me to want him to win. Since Christmas’s livelihood depends on her fitness, you would think she would be more concerned with healing her foot. Are they going to let her leave for physical therapy appointments too? I like Christmas but she should have left and been given a spot next year. CBS has ruined this season for me.

when he feels the least bit slighted. If they don’t think he will

real shockers in their future. And once again they need to keep
an eye on Dom. For all the adulation she is garnering right now
for her little adages or bits of wisdom, she is watching everyone
and gathering information along the way on everyone.

As to the show being rigged, that always gets asked and people usually think it is. What “Reality Show” isn’t? Most of them
Have plots and are scripted. I don’t really care either way. It’s still entertaining and we still chat up a storm about it
Sounds like you’re not a Paul fan. I really couldn’t stand him most of last season. But he straightened up towards the end and was pretty cool with Nicole. Keep in mind he’s only just turned 24. That’s pretty young and guys mature slowly!!!!i feel like I’m still waiting for Mike sometimes. lol So he was pretty much showing off last year for TV and for his crew. I think a GF and another year gave him a different perspective. He’s definetly smart. So far, considering what else is in there, I’m actually enjoying him. BB makes us fickle. Lol
Btw… my fav cakess are chocolate and carrot. 🍰🍩🥕😋

Star … it was the Have Nots. I got that wrong. It was the curse that was put on them when Christmas took the temptation. She got to pick the three people to get the curse. At first said she put up Cody, Jess and Ramses but somehow it turned into Cowboy instead of Ramses. Cowboy is loving the costume!

But it is nice right now not to have the option to watch… because if I had them I would watch… not enough self discipline 😆

Ok. So the Curse involved Christmas choosing 3 people to put up as HNS AND they had to wear frog costumes? That’s confusing. Also. I guess I didn’t realize that whoever got the Temptation got to pick who got the Curse. Did Paul pick Ramses then? He went into that special room so I thot it was random. But that would explain why Cowboy had to go in to replace Ramses. He just had the Curse. You can only get it once. Right? This is a pretty involved twist that’s for sure!! Lol. Maybe the real Curse is having to follow all these stupid directions. 😏

Odds for Cody to stay this week are very slim!!
The ring twist combined with Ramses curse.. plus the fact there are still 14 people left.. make for a next to zero chance for Cody.

Ramses going on the block means only 2 names will be drawn from a bag of 10. And Cody would need Christmas to be one of the 2 names drawn… then have the 2nd name be either himself or Jess.

Then he would need to actually win the veto (or Jess to win if she’s drawn) …and keep noms the same

That’s just way too many things that need to happen together.
No way
I predict Cody will be voted out 9-1-0
or 10-1 if Ramses wins veto

And it was always my absolute #1 fave thing for about the first 12 or 13 seasons.

But I do know the more I pay attention to what is happening… the more I get out of a season. So maybe that has been my problem…. last year I didn’t watch feeds much at all…. pretty much just CBS shows.

So maybe I need to go sign up for all access?? LOL

We found out on the feeds that even if Cody’s name is drawn to play in the veto he will not get to play. Christmas was voted the temptation and she is able to switch herself for anyone that is picked to play. That what she plans to do.

Good to see you back. I’ve missed your thoughts.

Yep… he would need Christmas’ name to get drawn along with himself. A 2 in 10 chance directly followed by a 1 in 9 chance.
Or he would need Christmas and Jess to be drawn with those same chances. Anything other than those 2 combos and he’s gone
Plus if one of those 2 combos miraculously happens… then he or Jess would still have to win the veto!! LOL

Slim odds like I said.

Junksies. Now I’m cracking up!! Lol. I love the ‘shroom analogy. That’s me all winter. 😁 I haven’t just watched the shows since S8. That’s when BBAD came out and the show was never the same.
I agree with JT about getting into it anymore. I think it’s because it’s been around for so long and unlike Survivor, it’s in your face 24/7 for 3 months. It’s a lot of work if you do it the way we do. But even if I try not to get into it, I can’t not. Lol. Guess I’m an addict. Pretty textbook actually.
I have the LFS but hardly use them. I do watch them
During endurance comps for sure. Other than
That it’s spotty. I get what I need here, other sites and BBAD. Anything else is too all consuming for me. I do have other s*** to do with my days. Lol

But as you said… that comes with such a major commitment.
Survivor I can just watch 1 hr a week on CBS and I’m good.

But with this… I feel I need feeds and Jokers and blogs and 3 CBS episodes a week and……… and everything to get it all!!
Tired just thinking about it….. plus it’s Summer in Minnesota… not something we take lightly around here!! 😆

From there it expanded to buying Showtime just so I could see bbad and about that time I found this blog and lurked for 2 years before commenting. Finally came other blogs Jokers mortys and I even tried the live feeds for about one day and gave up because I live in the country and it’s nearly impossible to connect as others are able to. For 3 months BB throws my schedule into chaos…I can’t even imagine what it would be like if I had the live feeds!!! I am so glad to have found this blog and everybody here enriches the whole experience 💕💕💕

I was actually trying to figure out Cody’s odds with all these twists.
I’m pretty good at math… but not good enough for all this stuff!!

He needs himself OR Jess OR Christmas to be the first name drawn.

If he is drawn first… then Christmas HAS to be 2nd
If Christmas is drawn first.. then he HAS to be 2nd
If Jess is drawn first.. then Christmas HAS to be 2nd

I know there is a 1 in 45 chance for BOTH Christmas & Cody to be drawn…. but when you add Jess into the mix…. My head EXPLODES!! 😆

Oh no Star I would never be upset with 💜you💜 or anybody else for that matter. The whole BB experience is supposed to be fun so I try not to take things too seriously, but with this Paul Cody and Christmas thing I’ll admit my emotions were running hot and I had to real in my thoughts before I typed something I would regret.

Courtney: The third nominee (from a curse) like last season,
isn’t filled by the HOH, if they come off the block. The HOH
has already nominated two others and the noms stay as they
are. I can’t imagine Ramses winning the veto, but then this
has been such a controlled season anything is possible.

I really like Christmas & I’d love if she could stay but I can’t see that happening. First, they’d probably have to do a nerve block, epidural or spinal & not general anesthesia but she’d have to come back & stay off her foot for days & frankly, I can’t see them waiting on her hand & foot (no pun intended). She probably needs to go heal correctly 😢

And then if Cody goes, we’ve lost a lot of entertainment early on, Jessica can’t do anything but morph into another group & hold her breath until she’s under the radar or sent home. Who will be our new villain? Some of you think Paul, so then, who will be our new hero?

However… as much as I disliked Rachel during BB12, I was rooting hard for her towards the end of BB13. She won me over with her determination to win.

Just got through watching the have-nots choices. Paul had to
select four. Anyone want to guess who his first two choices were?
Right. All three frogs, then volunteeers were asked for by Paul.
As if this group is willing to volunteer for anything that might call for them to have to sacrifice something. Finally Matt volunteered to a host of thank-yous. This group is really pathetic. We have Raven who has a pass from ever being on slop due to her disease and the
reward she got. Then Kevin apparently has something wrong with him and Paul was afraid he might die if he was put on slop. Then
you have Christmas with her injury. Why come on the show if you have health problems that will keep you from being on a level playing field with the other hgs? I just don’t get it. But the piling on of Cody is still happening. Enough is enough. No one should have to undergo all this abuse. If you want him out, vote him out, but get off the anger-relatiation-revenge train and be adults. Production that goes for you, too!!!Paul with his revenge streak should not be
selecting the have-nots. Draw names out of the bucket you so loved
banging to get everyone up. And the spoon is back!

I am a Reverend, and I am pretty sure God is not spending his/her time hanging out in the BB house. Not only would God not send you in there Dominique your enemy wouldn’t wish it on you. The point of BB is to try to win 500,000 dollars, it’s not to find your soul mate, make life long friendships, or to have a spiritual journey. Haven’t any of these HGs watched the show? For the most part, the BB houseguests are individuals who either don’t have jobs, or have positions that you can leave for three months, not exactly people at the top of the job market. Don’t get me wrong, I love watching this show, but there are very few houseguests I would even meet in my real life, much less befriend if I met them. Elena – no! Cody – no! Christmas, I like, but I would never be in a cross fit place. Mark, nice kid, again personal trainer, I don’t go to the gym. Raven – maybe I would see her in a production of the Nutcracker, if she’s an exotic dancer I wouldn’t be seeing her. Dominique a lot of people in my family are engineers so she is a possibility, also a nice woman. Cowboy – I don’t go to rodeos. Jillian – no time shares for me. Kevin and Josh just no. Matt – I have my own construction guy. Ramses cosplay? No I don’t go to animae or whatever. Paul he’s from the “Valley” so that’s a big fat no!! for those of you not from Cal – Paul says he’s from LA – He’s from Tarzana, that’s the valley it’s where your mom cuts the crust off your sandwich. Valley kids are spoiled!!!!!!!! Now I get him a lot more. I just read his bio and saw he was from Tarzana – super entitled. This is what happens when I don’t get any sleep – stupid pacemaker!

I’ve always hated reading their “job titles” in bios… and half the time I don’t even know what the hell it means.
Might as well say “Chief Executive Of Looking Out The Window” as far as I’m concerned.

But your point is spot on. To get “everyday” people would be tough. I’d LOVE to have a season where NO ONE is looking to use BB to advance their wannabe “career”. And NO ONE gives a $hit about gaining any followers on insta-face or snap book.

But, those kind of people (like me), can’t take an entire Summer off of work. And quitting their jobs would be more costly than a 1 in 16 chance to win 500k.

But still…. I wish they would find an entire house of people like that.

So she is stiff and too rehearsed… and uses all the mannerisms from “Talk Show Hostess 101”

Just have fun with it!!! Let your hair down!! …would be so much better to watch.
