Big Brother 19 — What Happened Tonight…

Hi y’all!

Well, that was a pretty good eviction show. I can’t say that I was shocked by the results. Ramses made some good points in his pre-eviction speech but he should have started making those points as soon as he was nominated. Instead, like so many of the nominees this year, he waited until the last minute to really campaign. For someone who claimed to be a superfan, Ramses didn’t seem to understand much about the game.

For those keeping track, the final vote was 7-3. Cody, Mark, and Elena voted for Josh. Everyone else voted to evict Ramses. After the vote, Cody and Jessica may have been upset but they didn’t seem to be surprised. They had been warned that a blindside was in the works. Mark and Elena looked far more surprised.

I also wasn’t shocked when Paul won HoH. I remembered, from last season, that Paul was good at memory comps. Paul spent a lot of time studying those cartoons the night before. Cody, on the other hand, barely glanced at them. So, I’m not shocked that Paul won HoH.

But then Jessica announced, at the end of the show, that she was happy that America had given her the temptation so that she could keep “Cody and I safe for a few weeks.” That was a priceless moment, because it caught both Paul and Josh totally off guard. Even though Paul may have suspected that Jessica had the temptation, he obviously wasn’t expecting her to announce that fact to the entire house. As for Josh — well, I’m happy any time he gets that smirk wiped off of his face.

I have to admit, though — I thought Jessica made a mistake by announcing that. If I was Paul, I would hear that and say, “Okay, I’ll just nominate Mark and Elena and use my HoH to take out the only allies you have left.” But, as of right now, it appears that Paul is planning on nominating Cody and Jessica. He says he wants to flush out the temptation and force them to use it. Paul may be under the impression that the temptation will just force him to nominate someone else. I don’t know if he realizes that it will basically cancel out his entire HoH. Then again, forcing Jessica to use the temptation isn’t necessarily a bad strategy. Assuming that Paul can keep his alliance together and nobody flips, Paul and his allies can just keep nominating Cody and Jessica until they eventually get them out.

Paul has been doing some damage control with Mark and Elena. He told Mark that the decision to vote out Ramses was a house decision and that they didn’t tell Mark or Elena because it was felt that they were too emotionally close to Ramses. Paul has also been telling anyone who will listen that Ramses won the $25,000 at the start of the season. Of course, Paul knows that Kevin is the one who actually won that money.

Speaking of Kevin, I did like his final goodbye message to Ramses. It’s hard for me not to feel bad for Ramses, even though I understand why he was evicted. To be voted out is bad. To be voted out in favor of someone as obnoxious as Josh has to be even worse.

Because Jessica took the halting hex, there is going to be one more competition. It’s going to be the Temptation Competition and, whoever wins it, will be safe for the week. If either Cody or Jessica wins the Temptation Comp and then the other one wins the veto, they could actually get through the week without having to use the hex. That would keep things interesting.

So, right now, it appears that Jessica and Cody are going to be nominated but, as always, anything can happen!

What does the future hold?

We’ll find out soon enough!

Cathy. No I haven’t. Someone , maybe you, mentioned it yesterday. Could you post the link? I also haven’t seen the ines of Ravens mom that have been talked about. Seems she’s quite the little secret keeper. I liked her when BB first started but not really a fann now. Partly from what I’ve heard, but also she’s a total floater and I doubt she could even maintain without a guy to cling to. Yuck.

Cathy…yes I did see the video and the last part was a shocker to actually see Paul and Raven hugging confirming that yes, they did actually know each other prior to the show. I wonder how well they knew each other and if she stalked him in some way for the BB connection… Humm…. I may try to link it later for Star.

I wonder if her and Paul worked out some kind of deal with her and him being on the show together. I mean it does make for good television to see so thought out strategy going great on. It’s like Paul took a deal to the network and said okay, if you let me go back into the house with 2 loyal people to work with me here’s how we will play it. I mean the HoH comp when everyone was giving Paul there candy I have never seen people play like that b4. I think Raven doesn’t care about winning, I think she is in it for the camera time myself. I believe she told Matt she knows,Paul and if he will keep him mouth shut she would guarantee him protection with her and Paul. Those 3 are playing the rest of the house like dummies.

I am so upset with Kevin, everyone thinks Ramses got the 25,000. Ramses won’t even be able to go to the Jury house. They will get what they deserve. Josh in the jury house. I wouldn’t want to be there. I don’t think Ramses will be having that Thanksgiving dinner with Kevin. 🍴

What exactly is Jessica’s temptation power and how many times can she use it? I thought I knew but when she opened her mouth and said it could keep her and Cody safe for a few weeks. A FEW WEEKS??? Was she just exaggerating?

Sam…Jessica can halt the person evicted for the next 3, now 2 evictions. So yes, if she or Cody or anyone for that matter, goes up she can pull them down. She exaggerated. I wish she’d not said anything beyond that she got the temptation. It’s like she gave a heads up to the enemy. Dumb….Shut UP already !!!!

It’s called the “Halting Hex”. It allows her to actually stop the eviction before any of the votes are cast on eviction night. Basically making sure that no one is evicted that night. It was only good for four evictions – two have already passed – so it’s only good for two more evictions. I can’t believe that she was dumb enough to tell the whole house that she has it and that it will keep her and Cody safe. But on the other hand, I can understand why she did it – to piss off Paul and Josh. I am SO glad that Josh didn’t win HOH – can you imagine the arrogance he would be walking around with all week! Although, I’m quite upset that Paul won HOH – but it didn’t surprise me. I’m just not a Paul fan. I’m not a fan of having a Vet play with Newbies. I’m tired of seeing Vets on the show. They had their chance, let it be.

Ramses should have rallied some votes and had a better social game. He seemed very timid not very confident especially he claiming to be a superfan of big brother he looked shocked when he got evicted. I think Jessica was doing fine before Cody came back in the game now Jessica with all the power still made bad decisions and Cody bullying people to vote josh out I think Cody has no social game he just look mechanic like a robot almost no emotions .I feel Cody made Jessica game worse because they never communicate with the rest of the house bad strategy

Whew!!! I just caught up on the blogs!! So many great 👍 comments!
I was s frustrated when the last three HG’s standing in the HOH comp. we’re Matt, Paul and Raven! I would have rather anyone win beside any of these three stooges!😕. Once Paul won, I was hoping the punishment twist because of Jessica taking the Hex, would be a double eviction so Paul would only be HOH for a day! I realised that wasn’t going to happen when I saw how much time was left! I want to see something unexpected happens that will throw a monkey 🐵 wrench 🔧 in Paul’s plans! I want all of Paul’s puppets to cut ✂ the strings and start playing for themselves! (Note: I’m having fun with my new Kindle Fire’s graphics!😊). All I have to do to get a heart is to type 💘love. 💘 Having a little fun! 😇

I think cody is hurting Jessica’s game rather helping it .Jessica is only safe for 2 more weeks . she had to have a better strategy have a better social game she made bad decisions this week even though she has the halting hex that is used once to stop an eviction

I felt bad for Ramses too. Did you see Josh pretending to get up and try to look shocked it wasn’t him?? God! He was doing that all week. Moaning about going home. Don’t give up your day job bud! Lol
But for Ramses to be a super fan he had to do more than Watch the show!! You should have picked up some strategy too. And unfortunately he didn’t get that memo as he had none. Or much personality. Sweet kid but, that’s not enough.
Paul and Josh aren’t the only ones shocked when Jess dropped her bomb !! Did you see Julie’s face? She was mid sentence too and just sort of stammered and then said good nite. Lol. I know Jess did it out if revenge. And sour grapes. But what an idiot!!! So much for the power of surprise!
I knew Paul Would win. He studied hard and has determination. And he’s fairly intelligent. All things none of the other HGS posses in large quantities this season! I dont like how’s he’s manipulating the game and using Josh as his personal assistant/gopher but if that wins him the game.. hey… more power to him. It’s more than any body else is doing! We have s houseful of recruited floaters at summer camp! I think the game would be boring as hell without him actually. No one else knows how to play! They’d need cue cards to even go on. Lol
Not sure I get the Temptation Comp thing. Is that the next Temptation or the Curse? And did Julie say you could choose to play or not play?? I was confused and I think Julie was still a tad rattled by Jess’ blurted confession!!
Can’t say I have loved all the HGS so far…but the show has been anything but boring!!😏

BlueGatorMom July 28, 2017 at 8:44 am: IF I understood Julie correctly – the Temptation Competition would be voluntary. It is the Curse for Jessica accepting the Halting Hex Temptation. Every HG has the choice to compete or not. If you choose to compete, it could be a blessing or a curse. If you win the competition, you’re safe for the week and can’t be nominated. BUT if you choose to complete and come in last, you are automatically placed on the block as a third nomination for eviction, so it could blow up in your face. One thing I’m unsure of – did Julie say it was only for the next three evictions, or does it go on longer than that?

For the video of Ravens mom just go to YouTube, in the search bar enter “raven mom bb 19″…it’s the first one that pops up….it’s 11 minutes long. It’s a mini documentary compiled by a non-fan with news clips, interviews, etc. etc. Paul and Raven are near the end. Interesting and worth the watch.

Star, you are right about Paul. Even though he makes me cringe, every good mystery needs a villian! 😕. Did you notice Elena’s fake surprise when Julie said Ramses as evicted? It was SO FAKE! She reminded me of the actress in “Singing in the Rain” with Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds. The expressions on her face in the silent film! 😮 😯. I agree the show is getting less boring. I haven’t watched the last two night’s🌙 of BBAD, and from the comments about it, I will probably skip them! I’d rather turn on some good music and paint! 😊

Wow…really Jolee…you think that was a fake reaction by Elana? I’m not so sure. My research tells me that she 1) she is being kept in the dark by Paul…the other side of the house 2) she only found out that Ramses was being evicted a couple of hours before the feeds went down today for the live eviction. Paul and the other side of the house realize that she is really smart, feel threatened and want to take her out ASAP. The shock, I believe, is that what she heard at the last minute was, in fact, true and now she knows she’s not in the “loop.” I may be wrong cuz I don’t get the feeds.

May be somebody might want to fill me in if my speculation is off base…

I have done spare time in the afternoon and turn on the feeds there is always grooming, eating or general innane chit chat. Very frustrating. I basically pay for them to watch the endurance comps.
I think Elena not only realized she was out of the loop but pretty alone. Except for Mark. She had been part of the couples, then thot she was in with Paul. Since Jess chose not to tell them about Ramses I think reality hit her. And her jaw just dropped. Lol.
I really thot she was pretty smart at first but I think Mark has pulled her down why these HGS get I. Showmances do quick is beyond me. Smh. But then, if they’ve never watched BB becore, they don’t know how stupid it is!!! 🤗

She played a dumb blond whose facial expressions made me think of Elena and how fake she is, and her facial expressions seem to me like she doesn’t have a clue. You can Google Singing in the Rain cast and click on her picture to see scenes from the movie! It was just a thought that hit me when I thought Elena was just acting surprised! I guess you “had to be there…!”. 😊

Paul is gonna haul big dumb Josh all the way to the end if he can bc he knows no one will vote for Josh to win. If Paul were really smart he would not work so hard to evict jess and Cody until jury house. I think he is scared that they will vote him out as soon as they can now so he is for real wanting to keep the pressure on by using the others. Once he looses his cover they will put him out. Jess and Cody need to put Paul and Raven up next to each other and if Paul comes down put up matt. Break up that trio asap. Them start on the cowboy christmas, alex, Kevin, mark, and Eleana. ..the end

It is called the Temptation Competition. And, for the next 3 weeks, before nominations, the house guests will be tempted to participate in this challenge. And, for the first time in Big Brother history, the house guests will get to choose whether or not they want to compete. The winner of this competition will be safe for the week. But, like all temptations, participating comes with a consequence. The house guest who finishes last will automatically go on the block as a 3rd nominee. Tune in Sunday when the Temptation Competition is revealed to the house guests and watch it all play out.

I’m ready for a power shift in the house – I’m tired of Paul and I’m tired of the control he has over so many of these houseguests. Don’t see it changing anytime soon – hate that he can pretty much just pluck off anyone he wants to at any trine for now. What’s wrong with these people? It’s like he has them hypnotized and under his power. He’s a big talker and I find the sound of his voice so annoying because he never quiets down.

Susan July 28, 2017 at 7:40 am: I was disappointed too. Have to admit he plays a good game and if I liked him, I’d probably be happy and loving the show. I just find him very annoying. And Josh!!! He will do whatever Paul tells him to do – he’s so unpredictable with his emotions – he’s either crying because he was hurt by what someone said or did, or he’s running maniacally thru the house creating chaos. It’s funny I know who I don’t like which is most of them but don’t have a favorite I’m rooting for.

I’m with you Ginny. I had already put my TV on mute, so as not to hear Josh’s gloating. It surprised me that he was so calm. Can’t help but think that someone told him to keep it calm – whether it be Paul or Christmas (since she seems to be able to calm the beast). I’m also ready for all of Paul’s sheep to wise up and start playing their own game. But maybe this is the result you get when people don’t submit themselves for BB and someone else does it for them. Maybe these people don’t really care about being there and are just following Paul in hopes that he’ll keep them safe. They have to see that it’s going to end, and soon. There are only 4 people not completely enthralled by Paul, and actually Mark and Elena will probably go back to being sheep this week with Paul as HOH.

UGH! Ready for this season to be over!

Ginny…I was surprised too but at the very end of the show Josh was getting ready to say something when both Paul and Kevin reeled him in from making an a$$ out of himself. It worked cuz he shut up. I was so thankful that I didn’t have to watch him gloat.

I was happy to see the plan come to fruition. Ramses bores me and at least Josh stirs things up. I like Paul, he’s smart and works really hard the entire time he is in BB. He doesn’t lay up in bed with a shomance, he’s not a floater, he’s a doer.
I can’t like Jessica, she is fake and is all about Jody only! I wouldn’t trust her as far as I could throw her. I wish all the girls took off their make-up, lashes and extensions and be real. They are playing in comps for goodness sake, this isn’t a beauty competition.
I like the other side of the house, Jason, Alex etc.
Mark seems to want to be up Cody’s behind and I have no feelings for Elena because she goes where Mark goes.
So, at least the events leading up to the eviction and the eviction weren’t boring. I may not be a fan of Josh but he did crack me up with his acting and talking to the camera.
Just a different perspective here………

Love him or hate him if Paul wasn’t in the house this season it would be boring and totally dominated by Cody and Jessica. Then everyone would be bitching because they were totally running the house. I’m sorry people but I just can’t stand watching and listening to Cody and Jessica. She is as fake as her extensions and eyelashes. As Paul was saying last night, Cody and Jess come from completely different worlds. Cody will never IRL fit into the LA world that Jessica lives in and she will never live in the cornfields in Iowa or wherever he is REALLY from. I really don’t want to see more of Paul and since he’s HOH again there is no choice. Well even if he’s not HOH he still controls the house. He took Jessica’s away from her too.
I don’t see the fun in having one smarter then the others lead a bunch of sheep. It was the same with Derek and his season.
Either give the newbies a chance to sort themselves without a vet or make it all talented vets. That would be a fair fight.
It will take a miracle for Paul not to win this season.
Raven’s there to further her cause and doesn’t really care so much about the win. I thinks she believes her exposure will net her so much more.
I think Christmas is there to promote her business just like Paul last year. Only if I was looking for a workout guru her personality would turn me away from her.
I worry that the show we loved is gone forever. Each year the optimist that I am has high hopes with a return to the good times.
Thanks Lisa for the blog and all of you for contributing your opinions. As always when the show disappoints we can come here to be entertained.

Cody complained to Paul that no one came to talk to him (game talk) this week. Well for one thing when they did come to him the very first week when he was HOH… he just sat there and stared at them… Uncomfortable silence… crickets… No wonder they don’t want to get treated like that again!

I think one reason Josh was acting shocked after the eviction, is because who on the block can ever be 100% sure they aren’t going to be evicted? I think he just looked 😌 relieved that he was still there! That’s what I thought anyway. Unless he was putting on a show, I think he was just honestly relieved! If course, I realize I may be completely wrong! 😕. or not! 😇

When I went to bed last night I was thinking about big brother. Think about this, Paul was on last season’s big brother he knew some of the guests that are there now Raven and Cody there are pictures of them together. I think maybe as a returning Vet he was given the opportunity to select some of the players the fact that so many of them are his sheep that he’s leading to slaughter I’m kind of thinking he may have had big brother in his back pocket and the season is going to be the Paul season to win big brother. In my humble opinion. Think about it.

Lots of times I may answer someone’s comment without mentioning ones name basically because I remember the comment but not who made it. I really don’t care if someone mentions my name in a positive manner but negativity is rude…js
IMO Elena looked stupid when she went out on the first question of the comp. During BBAD I was ah-mazed she said she bought new clothes for the show but if you view her Instagram she is wearing some of the clothes she wears now! She was much thinner but still a Ho.
I wonder if Cody is on some type of medication to control his anger? He just sits and stares almost like a catatonic state. I was thinking Jedy instead of Jody for the 2 of them.
Just like Josh could be on Valium the way he cries all the time and then amuses himself with his antics…he is quite different than the first few days. Production seems to be coddling him with air time. Someone mentioned something about Josh’s job…he works in his families “hair care” business so basically he doesn’t have a real job! lol
Jessica probably wears the bandana to hold her weave in. She stated she thought (in the beginning) she was getting $900 an episode not weekly.
Kevin needs to win HOH so he can get a letter from his wife with divorce papers attached!
I wasn’t aware oatmeal made you fart?!?
What’s up with Jason and Alex? I don’t understand why she is always beating up on him …and he lets her!?! Just like Matt and Raven.
Can anyone tell me what the books are that Christmas says she published? And what is the business she is trying to launch that she asked Paul for his advice? She needs to look at Paul’s website because his merchandise SUCKS.

what a frustrating episode – have these people SEEN prior seasons? Pawns do go home! Why would Jessica believe the very people that dislike her and Cody so much that they literally had garbage dumped on them recently? Why are people following Paul like mindless sheep? I don’t even see a hint of them getting smart and working to get him out. If I was Jessica or Cody I wouldn’t have put up one of the few people who possibly could have been an ally. He wasn’t aligned with anyone. Also, josh is such a loose cannon, they could have told him things like Paul was just using him for a vote. I would have told josh that Paul said josh was so stupid that he would do anything he wanted, Etc. Also get in his ear about other people saying stuff- he would have lost his cool, started arguments, and made himself look bad- possibly getting himself voted out. “Jody’s” use of the HOH was probably one of the worst I’ve seen!

Paul met Raven on one of his public appearance tours when he went South.
Josh (and Paul) originally planned for Josh to go on a huge loud mouth rant but at the last minute Paul squashed the idea and told him not use the F word and act surprised.
The rumor is out that Kevin wins BB this season?!?

Jessica and Cody are very talented in competitions and are a force to be reckoned with. BUT they just do not get strategy and reading the house dynamics. I read that they had a conversation this morning about telling Paul he would waste his week if he put either of them up. And Jessica said even if Paul put Cody on the block Paul could use the veto on Cody. And then… if someone else used the veto and took themselves off, Paul would likely put up Alex. WHAT IS SHE THINKING?? Does she not get it? That is why Paul is running the house! This hex is going to mess up Paul’s plans but at least he always seems to have Plan B. They don’t!
