Usually Big Brother’s Wednesday night shows are a little boring, but that wasn’t the case tonight. The Veto competition had HOH Frank, the two nominees Dan and Danielle, Shane, Britney and Jenn facing off. They had to identify a drawn picture and then if they were correct take a punishment to receive the points. The plan was supposed to be that Dan and Danielle would throw the competition so that either Britney or Shane would win. Then the Quack Pack would have the ability to keep all five members safe. However, I don’t see how that would have worked because if Britney or Shane won POV and used it, what was preventing Frank from putting up the other…either Shane or Britney?
Anyway, Dan never attempted to throw the competition. He wanted to win and take himself off the block. This SHOULD have been a huge alarm to Shane and Britney that he didn’t care if one of them replaced him on the block. Frank was ahead in the competition when he broke the rules by saying a word aloud when it was Britney’s turn. This got him disqualified. Britney couldn’t name one of the drawings and this left the final to be between Jenn and Dan. Jenn pulls off the win and holds the second POV. Along with winning, she now must remain on slop for the remainder of the game. Now, at this point, everyone thinks that things will remain the same. Ian isn’t using his veto and Jenn isn’t using hers. Dan will be leaving the house on Thursday. Quick aside…Shane couldn’t get ONE word in that competition? Not one word, Shane? Good for you…let the others take the punishments and you sit and watch.
Dan’s punishment of spending 24 hours in solitary confinement is a curse for the BB14 house. He spends all that time figuring a way of of this mess. He devises a plan to get himself and Danielle safe this week. The man is diabolical. Part one had Dan come out of 24 hours of isolation acting kinda strange. He was pretending to be disoriented, looked pale, etc. All the HG’s were concerned about his well-being. Suckers! Part two had Dan staging an elaborate funeral for himself. He spoke about all the HG’s, nicely I might add. He had everyone, except Frank crying like he was really dying. What the heck is wrong with you people? This is Big Brother. It’s a GAME. GAME. GAME. Can’t say that word enough times.
Next Dan does something that the HG’s find unbelievable. He turns to Danielle, tells her she knows what she did and tells her that she is dead to him. The shock on all the HG’s faces was pretty funny. Everyone is trying to figure out what Dani could have done to make Dan so mad, especially Dani. She’s crying her eyes out to Shane.
In the meanwhile, Dan has moved on to step three. He goes up to the HOH with Frank and squeals like a stuck pig. He tells Frank everything about the Quack Pack, about Ian, etc. Frank believes him because after all, he’s telling the truth! Dan sneakily convinces Frank that instead of evicting him they should concentrate on evicting Britney. He would have gone after Ian, but Ian has the Golden Power of Veto. Jenn has already pledged her loyalty to Frank so Frank doesn’t think she will have a problem using the Veto to save Dan. Then Frank will replace Dan with Britney. A new alliance of four was born…Frank, Jenn, Dan and Danielle.
I knew all the above, but what I didn’t know is that Dan told Danielle the whole plan BEFORE the POV was held. I thought Dan had kept her in the dark until after the Veto ceremony. She’s not so innocent looking to me now.
The POV is held and Ian doesn’t use his. Everyone is expecting Jenn to do the same, but she uses her Veto to take Dan off the block and Frank zeroes in on Ian. He tells him since he can’t put him up, he’s going after his “besty” Britney. You could actually almost see horror on Ian’s face. Britney, of course was shocked.
I still don’t understand how the votes are turning against Britney. If Ian, Shane and Joe stick together, Britney would remain in the game. Somehow, everyone, yep even Shane seem to be heading toward evicting Britney. I’m hoping they say tomorrow night how that happened. I really don’t understand the switch. Through the Live Feeds, I’m also seeing that Dan is NOT looking like a bad guy in all this. Huh?

In defense of Jenn, New Yorkers are very touchy about 911 and Ian should not have used it as a reference. He didn’t say anything wrong, but he certainly could have used another time reference.

I do have one question though (anyone feel free to answer of course). You said Dan told Dani the WHOLE plan before the veto ceremony. I must have missed that part.. where did that come from? And if so, then why would Danielle have been so hurt by it?? In private conversation after the veto ceremony… why did Dan explain his motives to Danielle if she already knew what he was up to?

JT I am pretty sure bloggergal is right. I thought he told her before the veto but after the “funeral” talk. Because she asked him to give her a heads up and he repied he couldn’t because he wanted her reaction.
Overall a great Wednesday show. I usually dont mind readin about Wednesday and missing it if I have to but tonight it was the best Wednesday as long as I remember!

I know Dan is supposed to be such a wonderful game player but I just can’t respect him or his game. He gives me the creeps and if he wins again it will be so awful I may not watch the final.

SOME GRAPEVINE NEWS FROM MID AFTERNOON TODAY
Dan talks about how in BB10 when he won and got out of the house the first person he saw was his ex-girlfriend and he pushed her aside because he knew it was over(what a guy he pushed her that was nice he could have ran over her with a steam roller)
Ian says that if it was him and he had a girlfriend outside the house the first thing he would do is run up to her and kiss her and tell her he did it. ( I really think he would do that, then in the next breath say let’s celebrate and go have a beer or 2 or 3 well maybe more)
Dan says that even when he came into the house he knew it was over between them. (pretty lame excuse to push her away)
Britney asks Dan if he flirted a lot in the house. Dan says no not a lot

Quite a show tonight! I’ve got to admit Dan made a superior power play. No where in the rules does it say you have to be and play nice. His strategy was similar to Ian’s. I wish Brit could stay, and I agree, mm, brit quit her job to become a coach, not a player. I do like her and I like Ian. What Dan did was masterful. I didn’t like it one bit, but Dan will have 500,000 reasons not to care what I think.

@betty…thank you for defending NY-ers…im a born&raised NY-er and the over 3000 people that died that day were all NY-ers, including my daughter that almost was killed in the building right next to the Towers….so yeah, i can clearly see why Jenn was upset, however and whatever Ian said bout the Towers….. 🙁
ok back to BB….☺…Happy face….WOW, did u see the terrible editing that CBS did to the TV show?…my God, they cut the Hours and Hours and Hours of footage of what really happened….that talk Dan had with Frank was way over 2 hrs long and they gave us like 3 mins….and Dan’s talk with Danielle in the arcade room was again over 2 hrs long and they gave like 2 mins….and dont forget the HOURS and HOURS of Crying that Dani did after the funeral, we got just a few scenes….lucky i have the Feeds and get to see everything…..

the West Bank in New Orleans Louisiana is fine, it’s on the East Bank that got the water. I’m sure glad I moved away after Katrina, lost everything except family. HOH8 – no problem. Two friends of mine, husband and wife, had an office in one of the twin towers and two of their employees died. (They were in Europe on vacation at the time). I never mention anything about 911 to either of them.

WOW! What a show!!! Even tho I knew pretty much all that was going on due to LFS and the blog, it still blew me away!!! I hadn’t *seen * the funeral thing and I know this is STUPID….but he ually had ME crying..for real!!!lol It wasn’ so much cuz of what Dan was saying but the tears and reaction on the other HGS faces while they were listening to him. Apparently in person, being a coach and all,Dan is pretty mesmerizing! By the time we have seen things for the 3rd or 4th timewith all the info out there, it’s watered down alot.
I’m not sue what the deal is with Brit going home either. Except that Frank seems to think that ian, Shane and Brit are tight and a force to be reckoned with. But then….why don’t Shane and IAN see that too???? OR Joe even if he is so supposedly with Shane! Everyone loves Brit personally,that is obvious! So why don’t they get there collective SH*T togetehr and vote to keep her??? Dani is seriously on my last nerve! Her MEMEME shit and hypochondria and why am I gaining weight while she munches on chips last nite while Brit drunk-showered…lol Besides, if people are SO scared of Dan, getting his only other BFF and totally loyal HG to him out would be a bonus, right??? i don’t know who threatened Brit’s peeps or why they are turning on her except that none of them have any balls!!! @MM….I 1st heard tht Dan’s wife wasn’t his old FIANCE’ from BB 10 one nite early on this year when a bunch of HGS were playong chess. Convo was…..what is the worst thing you ever did to someone you were dating??? And he admitted that dumping his GF right after BB10 was his! I was in SHOCK and knew right then and there tht eiterhr A….Dan was a totally different person he was in BB10 OR B…..he always WAS that person and we didn’t know him well enough to realize it! He also told Dani when he was explaining his whole scheme that he had only cried 3 times inhis LIFE!!!! Once when he got married …one when his grandfather died……and then when he had to go into the have not room thinking he was going home. He said he always knew he loved this game but didn’t realize how MUCH!!!! Really??? In 28 years….that’s IT??? And one of those 3 things is a FRICKEN TV SHOW!!!!! Good player…..without a doubt! COLD,emotionless person…..that too!!!! Maybe the 2nd is why he is so good at the 1st!!!!

Great show tonight. Classic. That makes three straight (prime time) in my book. I’m disliking Dan more every episode (especially the way he acted on Sunday night’s quarter-dive show and tonight by lying to Brit and playing in the game) but respect that as one of the best moves in BB history. Still pulling for a small meteor to hit the House. 😉
So I guess Joe, Ian and Shane voting for Britney’s impossible? She seems to have given up. I’d be fighting my ass off tonight to make it even freakier if she could pull it out. and let’s not forget the relationship Frank forged with Jenn was the lynchpin to pulling off tonight’s move. If she didn’t care enough and trust Frank, we wouldn’t be talking about Dan. And God bless the reactions from my peeps here–seems all the young bucks on Twitter have jumped on Dan’s jockstrap and are pulling for him all of a sudden to win. To me, he’s played in two of the weakest (HG-wise) seasons ever. He’s definitely in the Top 6 ever, but canonizing him because of this move, albeit great, is a little ridiculous to me.
Will always remember this season as a true Gemini: Hated it (production, DR’s, comps, lying about vote, unfairness) and Loved it (Carrot suit, strategy, Boogie’s boot, Dan’s save). In the long run, “hated it” will prevail but a Dan-Frank-Shane F3 would be interesting. Now justpullingagainst Dan.

I am so glad tht we ahve this blog and aren;t jsut relating to *young bucks* as you said! They don;t have the life experience or empathy that we all do. They just want to see BLOOD! Altjo, I do remember loving ED so maybe we are all etting TOO deep into the show and delving into the HGS personalities. But then again, we can’t really HELP doing that at our ages and the show wasn’st all that great until very recently so we jsut do what we have to to keep ourselves entertained….lol

As far as the Love-Hate reality about this season, like ED and JT I am still really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really pissed off about they way they did us fans but I can’t remember watching the same prime time show twice (East Coast feed and now here in Las Vegas) twice in one night as I am doing tonight and did last Thursday. The game itself is so great that production and The Powers That Be don’t know that they don’t have to ruin it with all this silly stuff (super powers, DR prompts, production decisions {trashed one of best surprise backdoors in Frank}, returning HGs) they have lazily gravitated to in recent years. And Survivor (and TAR) are justasguilty sister…

Another amazing night! You had to know Dan was going to think up something while locked away for 24 hours. Cocky or not, he got himself off the block AND got Brittany put in his place, then got Dani to believe it was all a ploy????? Like I said, amazing. Ian went wacko and what was up with Shane. He couldn’t think of a thing in the comp. Jenn is finally coming to life but I think a little late. Then there’s Gross Joe…….he lends nothing to the show at all. During the LF’s all he does is eat out of the fridge when no one is looking (but us) and sleep. He’s useless.

Here’s ultimately what happened — Big Brother was kind enough to provide alcohol for the houseguests, and Ian (likely knowing that he is in some pretty deep doo-doo at the moment courtesy of his betrayal of Frank time and time again) ended up getting a little bit smashed. To make matters worse, he then started to riff on a number of topics, and ended up saying that he had been wanting to play this game since “before planes flew into towers.” Ian was in fifth grade when 9/11 happened, and he was also not in New York — therefore, it seems pretty easy to figure out here that the guy may not be fully understanding the weight of some of what he is saying.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Suffice it to say, Jenn was obviously offended about the remark, and got very angry at Ian before going into the house and praying that she doesn’t kill him before the end of her time there. Jenn was living in New York at the time of the attack, and didn’t feel like this is something to make light of — even if you weren’t necessarily trying to be a jerk about it.

What a great Wednesday episode. I would love to see it come down to Dan, Frank and Shane. That would be interesting to watch. I like Britney and feel bad for her somewhat but stop with all the tears. That goes for drama queen Danielle as well. She is annoying. This is the Big brother house people you know what happens. I think it was a great move by Dan and the perfect time for it. My all time favorite is Jeff and I dont see that changing but that put Dan right up there with him for me.

I loved the way Evil Dick was so mean but hate it from Dan. I think ED put some fun into it and Dan is just pure mean and selfish.

In my opinion last nights episode is exactly what Big Brother is about and should be about…. I loved every minute of it. Of course I am also of the opinion that this show is seriously scripted by production and I think many are amateur actors but that was one of the best moves we have seen on BB in a long, long time! I knew it was coming and still was in awe of how Dan manipulated that whole thing. Kuddos to Dan for at very least giving us an interesting 2nd half of the season!!

Star: Dan honestly may not have had a lot of heartbreaks in his life. I have known people like that. My husband never cried (believe it or not) until he was 37. Then he cried when our dog died and he was burying him. He just never had a real tragedy. His grandparents had died when he was young, he still had all his siblings, and his parents were alive. I honestly thought he had no compassion. He’s cried several times since then. I can understand Dan not crying. Just sayin’.
With that being said, I think Dan’s move was brilliant. It got him what he wanted. Now it just remains to be seen how he really votes and acts and if he maintains ANY loyalty to Frank. Depends on who he is talking to and what you see to hear what his plans are. Personally, I want Ian GONE and GONE FAR. He has gotten on my nerves so bad the last couple of weeks. The cocky arrogant little dink. I can’t stand him at all. And Britney. Really? You have let everyone in the house take the fall and you have done NOTHING for yourself but talk. Buh Bye lady. I will not miss her at all.

That’s wonderful Sylvie. I did not know anyone there or in the planes but I remember watching it from work and crying with heartbreak and disbelief. I could not tear myself away from the news and watching the brave police, firefighters, and individuals who were braving the situation. A woman and her mother from Utah were on the second plane to hit the towers but other than that, I had no personal connection. Still, the heartbreak and sense of devastation were unbelievable. Ian may have been young but obviously he was young and doesn’t give a darn. My children were young yet they show respect when it is discussed. We all pause with respect on 9/11. I was in High School when John F. Kennedy was assassinated and I have made sure my children all appreciate the importance and the heartbreak of that time too. And yes, I even feel pain when I hear about the Holocaust. Sorry, Ian, you showed what a self centered little twit you are. Please go SOON!

Also, regarding Ian’s comment about 9/11. I don’t think it was such a huge deal at all. It just shows Jenn’s current stage in the game wanting to have game and show she’s a player, IMHO. Now I’m going to get it but to me, there was nothing insensitive about his comment. He was simply referring to a period in his life and we all do that. For example, we all know where we were and what we were doing when JFK was shot, my parents remember Pearl Harbor, 9/11, etc. etc. It was a time period reference and that’s what it was to Ian – again IMHO. Plus, and this may have slanted my opinion, I don’t care much for missy Jenn. I do like that she took Dan off the block though because he pulled one of the best moves in BB history. I want Dani to go, not Brit. Still no favorites though.
