Big Brother 22 — Week 6 Veto Meeting

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 14, 2020

Well, you can’t say that they didn’t try.

Nicole, Cody, and Dani all went out of their way to try to convince Da’Vonne not to use the veto on Kevin. They assured her that Tyler was the target this week. They promised her that Kevin was safe. Nicole even started crying as she explained to Da’Vonne that Ian is her best friend in the House and that she just couldn’t handle the thought of Ian going on the block as a replacement nominee.

Now, I should add that, with the exception of Nicole, everyone was lying to Da’Vonne. They were fully intending on voting out Kevin and keeping Tyler. And the majority of them had absolutely no problem with the idea of Ian going up in Kevin’s place.

Da’Vonne realized that she was being lied too. The other side of the House really laid it on a bit too thick. So, at today veto meeting, Da’Vonne used the power of veto on Kevin. Kevin came off the block and Ian took his place.

Nicole and Dani are both furious with Da’Vonne. Ian is upset because he feels that he fell victim to a bunch of twists. Everyone in the House is feeling very tense.

Right now, it appears that Ian will probably be voted out on Thursday. Christmas, Cody, Enzo, and Memphis are all planning on voting to evict him. Da’Vonen and Kevin are planning on voting to evict Tyler. David is a bit of an unknown. He gets along with Tyler but, at the same time, he’s also in an alliance with Da’Vonne. Nicole has said that she won’t vote to evict Ian but it’s kind of easy for me to imagine a scenario where Nicole gets talked into it “for the good of the alliance.”

If David and Nicole both vote to evict Tyler, that would lead to a 4-4 split and Dani would have to make the final decision. Though Dani started the week plotting to get rid of Tyler, she now wants to keep him around because he’s good at challenges and presumably would keep the members of the Committee safe if he won HoH or the veto. So, Dani would presumably vote to evict Ian.

So, Ian’s days are probably numbered in the House. But who knows. A lot could happen between now and Thursday!

P.S. Just a reminder: The next episode of Big Brother will air on Tuesday this week, not Wednesday!

Big Brother 22 — Caught Between Alliances

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 13, 2020

Hi y’all!

Today, there’s been a lot of uncertainty in the Big Brother House.

As a result of David using his power, Tyler and Kevin are currently the nominees. At the start of her HoH reign, Dani was fully intent on getting Tyler out of the House but, over the past few days, she’s changed her mind. A lot of that is because her allies on The Committee, Memphis and Cody, are determined to keep Tyler in the House, to the extent that they’ve said that they’ll vote to keep him even if Dani wants him to go. Meanwhile, Christmas has also said that she wants Tyler to stay and Dani feels that Christmas will go crazy if she’s crossed.

So, Dani is prepared to allow her former pawn, Kevin, to be voted out instead of Tyler. However, the problem with this plan is that Dani’s newest alley, Da’Vonne, has won the veto. Though Da’Vonne has been telling everyone else in the House that she’s undecided on whether or not to use it, she’s told Dani that she’s leaning towards using it on Kevin.

In order to try to convince Da’Vonne not to use the veto, Dani, Cody, and Nicole have been assuring that Da’Vonne that Tyler is the target and that Kevin’s in no danger of being voted out. Da’Vonne, however, doesn’t believe them so she’s probably going to still use the veto.

Who would Dani put up as a replacement? She has basically told Cody and Nicole that the replacement will be Ian. Christmas will vote to keep Tyler regardless of who else is on the block. Cody, Memphis, and Enzo have all said that they have no problem voting for Ian but Nicole is freaking out about it.

Nicole and Ian are allies but another reason why Nicole is freaking out is that she knows that she was caught on the live feeds laughing at Memphis making a joke about Ian’s habit of rocking back and forth. Because Ian is autistic, this has generated a good deal of criticism and it’s led to Nicole losing sponsorships in the real world. I’m not sure if she knows about the sponsorships yet but Nicole has told Dani that she was called to the Diary Room and told about the controversy. (If you saw tonight’s episode and wondered why Nicole was crying while Dani was talking about the nominations, it’s because Nicole had just returned from the Diary Room. She was worried that the show was going to do a segment about her laughing at Ian.) Knowing that she’s facing criticism on the outside, Nicole has now taken to referring to Ian as being her best friend in the House. She’s also told Cody that there’s no way she’ll vote to evict him. So, if Dani does nominate Ian, it’s totally possible that vote could be a tie, which would force Dani to cast the deciding vote. That’s definitely something that Dani doesn’t want to do.

So, right now, everything’s up in the air. The veto ceremony is tomorrow and I can’t wait to see what happens!

Big Brother 22 — Week 6 Veto Comp Results

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 12, 2020

Hi, everyone!

So, there have been two big developments in the game and, as a result, we may actually have an interesting week ahead of us.

Last night, as you know, Dani attempted to nominate Kevin and David for eviction. However, after the ceremony, David eventually went into the Diary Room and told production that he was using his Disruptor power to take himself off the block.

While the feeds were down, the HGs were told that someone had used the power and that David was now safe for the week. Dani had to pick a new nominee on the spot and, of course, she went with Tyler. That was probably an easy decision for her, since she was planning on blindsiding Tyler anyways.

Even though it was not announced who used the power, everyone knows that it was David. David, so far, has told Kevin that he used the power but I don’t know if he’s told anyone else. Kevin has also, as of this writing, kept David’s secret.

Earlier today, they played for the veto. The players were Dani, Tyler, Kevin, Da’Vonne, Enzo, and Ian. And the veto was won by …. DA’VONNE!

That’s right, Da’Vonne finally won something. She now has the veto and can use it to save her ally Kevin and then put Dani in the difficult spot of having to nominate yet another houseguest for eviction….

Except, it sounds like Da’Vonne is considering not using the veto. Dani told Da’Vonne to do what she wanted with the veto but she also assured Da’Vonne that Kevin has the votes to stay. (Cody, Christmas, and Enzo, however, have been talking about voting to evict Kevin so Dani might not be right about that.) Da’Vonne told Dani that she wouldn’t use the veto if Dani didn’t want her to but who knows if Da’Vonne was telling her the truth or if Da’Vonne might change her mind after talking to Kevin.

The thing that I can say for sure is that Da’Vonne and Dani both want Tyler out of the House and they’re both convinced that the House will vote to keep Kevin, assuming Kevin stays on the block. Kevin certainly seems to expect Da’Vonne to use the veto on him but Da’Vonne still had a day and a half to decide what she’s going to do.

Meanwhile, Tyler is annoyed and saying that if he’s voted out, he’ll just leave sequester and go home to Angela. The only person in the House who is currently more annoyed than Tyler is Christmas, who basically feels that Dani has betrayed her by nominating her closest ally.

Veto meeting is on Monday! We’ll see what Da’Vonne chooses to do then.

Big Brother 22 — Week 6 Nominations

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 11, 2020

Hi y’all!

So, Dani has made her nominations and once again, David and Kevin are on the block.

Dani did let Kevin know that he’s only going up as a pawn. Her hope is that she’ll be able to use the veto to backdoor Tyler. However, she also told Kevin that, even if the veto isn’t used, people will definitely vote to keep him over David.

HOWEVER — David has the Disruptor power! David has the power to take himself off the block, at which point Dani will have to name a replacement. David can use the power after the nomination ceremony and than he’ll be safe for the week. Plus, since he’ll be using the power in the Diary Room, no one will know that he won the power….

So, why hasn’t David done that yet? Seriously, if I was David, I would have gone straight to the Diary Room and said, “I’m using my power!” Instead, he’s still sitting around the House, telling Ian that he’s really looking forward to playing for the veto tomorrow.

So, is David just biding his time? Maybe. Part of the problem is that it’s really not clear on just how long David can wait to use his power after the nominations. If there’s no time limit, he could very well wait until Thursday night and then suddenly take himself off the block.

I’m assuming that David is going to use the power. Maybe he’s waiting to be specifically called into the Diary Room by production. If David doesn’t use the power, I’ll be stunned.

We’ll see what happens. The veto is tomorrow!

Big Brother 22 — Tonight’s Vote and HoH Comp

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 10, 2020

Hi, everyone. Let’s dive in.

Okay. so I assume that everyone has now seen tonight’s eviction episode, even those of you out on the west coast. If you haven’t, everything below this paragraph is a spoiler and yadda yadda, you know the drill.

Tonight, Bayleigh was evicted from the Big Brother House by a vote of 9-0. Everyone voted to evict Bayleigh, even David and Enzo who, earlier this week, said that they wanted to keep her around. Everyone decided to vote the HoH way, as Christmas put it.

With Bayleigh with gone, we’re now done with the prejury portion of the game. From this point forward, everyone evicted from the House will go into sequester and, even more importantly, they’ll get a chance to vote for the eventual winner of Big Brother 22.

After Bayleigh left, the HoH comp was the infamous wall endurance comp. This is the comp where the houseguests have to hang on to the wall while getting doused by water. The comp lasted for 83 minutes. Da’Vonne fell off after 13 minutes. She was followed by David (who held on for 49 minutes) and Ian (who managed to stay on the wall for 54 minutes.) Because they were the first three to fall, Da’Vonne, David, and Ian are this week’s have-nots.

Memphis, who has a bad back, was only staying on the wall to keep from being a have-not. After Ian fell, Memphis hopped off the wall.

Enzo fell after 63 minutes, followed by Kevin at 68 minutes. Tyler finally fell off at 78 minutes. At 83 minutes, Cody and Nicole both fell off the wall and their ally Dani become the new HoH!

So, who is Dani going to nominate? It’s hard to say. As Dani has shown in previous seasons, she’s not only willing to flip on her alliance but she actually enjoys doing so. Plus, Dani won that power that will allow her to compete for HoH next week so that might motivate her to make some big moves.

She had expressed to Nicole that she doesn’t trust Tyler and that she feels he should go sooner than later. So, it’s possible to that she might go after Tyler this week. It’s just a question of whether or not she’ll nominate him tomorrow or if she’ll backdoor him. She has also said that, if she was HoH, she would consider nominating Kevin and David for eviction. The fact that Kevin did as well as he did in the HoH comp probably makes it more likely that Kevin is going to be targeted.

So, to be honest, I’m not really sure who Dani is going to nominate. I know that she doesn’t trust Tyler so it wouldn’t surprise me to see her go after him. Cody will probably try to talk her out of it but, once Dani makes up her mind to target someone, she usually goes through with it.

We’ll see what happens tomorrow with the nominations!

Big Brother 22 — Last Night’s Fight

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 8, 2020

Hi, everyone!

Well, it took a while but we finally got our first big fight of the season last night. Christmas, Da’Vonne, and Bayleigh got into it and it led to a lot of shouting and a lot of f-bombs, mostly from Christmas.

First off, some background. After Tyler told Bayleigh and Da’Vonne that he would be asking Christmas to put him on the block, both Bayleigh and Da’Vonne thought that the two of them might actually have a chance to staying in the House. Tyler went up to the HoH room to talk to Christmas about wanting to go up as a replacement nominee.

Now, the feeds were cut so we don’t know for sure what Christmas and Tyler talked about, nor do we know how sincere Tyler was in the first place. If we believe what Tyler has been telling the other houseguests, Christmas talked him out of it. We also know that Tyler and Christmas have a final two deal, which would certain have given her an incentive to keep him in the House.

The problem is that neither Tyler nor Christmas ever bothered to tell Da’Vonne and Bayleigh that the plan was off. As a matter of fact, after talking to Tyler, Christmas called Dani, Nicole, and Da’Vonne to the HoH room and she formed an all-girl’s alliance with them, which she named the Bombshell Blitzes. When Da’Vonne said something about bringing Bayleigh into the alliance, Christmas said that was definitely a possibility.

Then, before the veto ceremony, Tyler helped Bayleigh out with her veto speech. During that entire time, he never told her that he had decided to stay. So, at the veto ceremony, Bayleigh and Da’Vonne were surprised and upset when Christmas did not use the veto. Making thing worse was Christmas saying that she felt terrible about nominating Bayleigh and Da’Vonne but that she didn’t have any other options.

Last night, when everyone was downstairs, Da’Vonne approached Christmas and asked her just what exactly had happened and why she didn’t nominate Tyler. Christmas, more or less, refused to answer the question, perhaps because she didn’t want to reveal that she had a final two with Tyler. Instead, Christmas said that it wasn’t her job to nominate Tyler and that he should have just left on his own. Now, that would be a good argument if not for the fact that Christmas keeps crying about how terrible she feels about nominating Bayleigh and Da’Vonne and insisting that she doesn’t want either one of them to leave. If she was being sincere about wanting to keep both of them in the House, she had a perfect opportunity to do so.

Christmas then said that she didn’t feel like she could nominate Tyler unless Tyler called a house meeting and explained to everyone why he wanted to leave. Da’Vonne said that didn’t make sense and asked her if Tyler was supposed to do a house meeting before the Veto Ceremony or after, at which point Christmas got frustrated and started accusing Da’Vonne and Bayleigh of taking the game personally.

Bayleigh then entered the conversation, at which point Christmas started to raise her voice and curse. Da’Vonne walked away and then Bayleigh and Christmas got into an argument about whether or not Bayleigh was taking the game personally. Christmas told Bayleigh to f**k off and then walked away.

From what I saw, it seemed to me that Da’Vonne and Bayleigh were asking a fair question but, because Christmas didn’t have an answer, she lost it and started cursing. That’s the way it seems to me. That’s also the way it seemed to the rest of the houseguests, who spent most of the right night talking about the fight and how they felt Christmas didn’t handle it well.

Personally, if I was them, I would be concerned about why Christmas was so adamant about Tyler staying. Tyler is a bigger threat than either Da’Vonne or Bayleigh so most HoHs would have jumped at the chance to evict him without even having to get “blood on their hands.” If they didn’t already know that those two have a final two deal, they should know now.

Anyway, the fight provided a bit of excitement to what has, so far, been a fairly dry season. Bayleigh is probably going home on Thursday but everyone in the House is now annoyed with Christmas, who is viewed as having let her HoH status go straight to her head.

As always, we’ll see what happens!

Big Brother 22 — Week 5 Veto Ceremony Results

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 7, 2020

Hi y’all!

Well, all of that Tyler drama turned out to be for nothing. Last night, Tyler swore up and down that he was going to beg Christmas to use the veto and put him up as a replacement but today, at the veto meeting, Christmas did not use the veto and she kept the nominations the same.

Needless to say, Da’Vonne and Bayleigh are not happy right now. They both feel that Tyler lied to them, largely to try to make himself look good to the people watching the live feeds. Tyler, for his part, earlier told David that Christmas talked him out of going on the block. Tyler says that he was under the mistaken impression that it was somehow his fault that Da’Vonne and Bayleigh were nominated but Christmas explained to him that it was actually Dani’s idea to nominate them.

However, last night, Tyler didn’t say that he felt like he was responsible for Bayleigh and Da’Vonne being nominated. He said that he missed Angela and he didn’t really care about being in the game. So, was Tyler lying last night or is he lying now or is he just really bad at explaining himself?

Kevin, Da’Vonne, and Bayleigh all think that Tyler was basically just flat out lying the entire time. So, Tyler has managed to make at least three enemies for no good reason. It’s true that one of them — probably Bayleigh — will be leaving on Thursday but if Da’Vonne or Kevin wins the HoH, Tyler has to be aware that he’ll be targeted.

(Of course, another theory, which is currently circulating online, is that production put Tyler up to it because otherwise, Wednesday’s veto episode wouldn’t have any drama. I’m not saying I believe that theory but there are definitely quite a few people out there who do.)

So, what was Tyler thinking? I guess we’ll have to wait until Wednesday to see what he had to say about it in the Diary Room.

Lisa Marie

P.S. Give some credit to David! He still has not revealed that he has the third power and no one in the House suspects that he does. Now whether or not David will make good use of that power is anyone’s guess.

Big Brother 22 — Veto Ceremony Eve

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 6, 2020

Hi, everyone!

So, on tonight’s show, we actually learned something that we didn’t already know. We knew from the live feeds that Dani and Christmas had won a power. However, what we did not know was who had the third power.

Well, tonight, we found out. We know the details of the third power and we know who won it.

First off, the third power from the Basement Comp is the Disruputor. The holder of the power can use it to disrupt the HoH’s nominations. The Disruptor can take one of the nominee’s off the block, requiring the HoH to pick a replacement. That’s a pretty big deal, though the show wasn’t clear as to whether or not the power had to be used immediately used immediately after the nomination ceremony or if it could be used any time during the week.

The power was won by …. DAVID!

That’s right. David finally won something and, as of right now, he has not told anyone in the House that he has the power. Could he use the power to save either Da’Vonne or Bayleigh? The show made it sound like he still could, even though he hasn’t used the power yet. Would he? I don’t know. David might want to hold onto the power just in case he’s ever nominated.

Secondly, we got to see the “big fight” between Dani and Bayleigh, which occurred while the feeds were down. It wasn’t that big of a fight. The way that Dani described it to Christmas, she made it sound like Bayleigh was yelling at her and threatening her. Instead, it was just Bayleigh saying that she had heard Dani was targeting her. No yelling. Just some sharp words.

As for what’s happening the House: Da’Vonne and Bayleigh are on the block. Christmas is HoH and has won the veto. She wasn’t planning on using it tomorrow. She wants everyone to vote out Bayleigh.

HOWEVER:

Tyler approached Da’Vonne and Bayleigh tonight and told them that he wants to go home. He says that 1) he misses Angela and 2) he doesn’t really care about being on the show enough to justify all of the drama. Tyler told them that he’s going to ask Christmas to use the veto on Da’Vonne and put him up as a replacement nominee so he can go home.

As I sit here writing this, Tyler is supposedly in the HoH room, talking to Christmas. None of the cameras are currently on the HoH room, though, which is frustrating. (The feeds went down a lot during Tyler’s talk with Bayleigh and Da’Vonne, which would indicate that Tyler was talking about production. That could also be why they’re not showing Tyler talking to Christmas.)

So, we’ll see if Tyler can talk Christmas into nominating him or if Christmas will change his mind. (For what it’s worth, Tyler seemed pretty sincere when he was talking to Da’Vonne and Bayleigh.)

Even if Tyler doesn’t get his way, Christmas may not get what she wants this week because almost everyone in the House is getting tired of Christmas’s HoH attitude. David and Enzo have both agreed that they would rather keep Bayleigh and they’re talking about trying to flip the vote.

We’ll see what happened with the veto ceremony tomorrow!

Big Brother 22 — Week 5 Veto Comp Results

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 5, 2020

Hi, everyone!

So, the veto comp was today. The veto players were Christmas, Dani, Bayleigh, Ian, Dani, and Nicole. The veto was won by …. Christmas.

When I last checked in with the Big Brother House, Christmas was bragging to Tyler about how perfectly her HoH was going. Tyler said that Christmas might even set the record for the most comp wins in Big Brother history. (Reminder: Christmas has won exactly 2 comps this season.) Christmas agreed that she might. Seriously, Christmas is insufferable on a good day but she’s even worse when she’s HoH.

Anyway, there’s no way that Christmas is going to change her nominations. At first, I thought that Christmas’s target was Da’Vonne but she and Tyler just agreed that Bayleigh should be the target this week. Apparently, Bayleigh is seen as being more of a threat to win HoH than Da’Vonne is. I’m not sure I really follow that logic but that seems to be what Christmas is going with. Christmas is confident that the House will go the “HoH way.”

In other news, Ian apparently had a huge panic attack earlier today and had to go to the Diary Room. Whenever the HGs start to talk about it, the feeds go down but from what I’ve been able to pick up, Ian’s anxiety is apparently off the charts.

And that’s it for now. Christmas is bragging on herself and Bayleigh is apparently the new the target.
