Big Brother 21 — Approaching Thursday

by Lisa Marie Bowman on August 6, 2019

Hi y’all!

So, I’m checking in with the Big Brother House. Tommy is having to wear a stupid costume. Jack spent the first part of the week being harassed by Albert the Alien, who basically ordered Jack to clean up after himself at all hours of the night. Jackson has just completed his punishment, which was to get doused in slime every hour for 24 hours. That’s all a result of them failing to win the veto this week. We’ll see that competition on the show tomorrow.

The veto was won by Jessica and, since she declined to use it, the Six Shooters are currently in disarray. It’s been fun to watch. After spending the first half of this season smugly talking down to the rest of the House and targeting people for the least little thing, Jack and Jackson are now on the block and neither one of them is dealing with it very well.

Jack acts like he’s still convinced that he can somehow save himself and avoid getting voted out but I think, deep down, Jack knows that there’s next to no chance that he won’t be voted out on Thursday. Analyse is even more upset about it than Jack. She’s spent a lot of time whining about how much she hates being on the show and how she wishes she could just self-evict. That’s gotten rather old, considering that Analyse has never even been on the block. As for Holly, she keeps asking whether or not the feeds are live, which would seem to indicate that Holly still doesn’t understand that she’s on Big Brother.

(I think all of the Six Shooters were recruits, as opposed to fans who actually went through the process of applying for the show. I imagine that explains a lot of about their entitled attitude.)

Jack thinks that he can scare Kat into voting to keep him by threatening to blow up her game otherwise. I doubt that’s going to work since everyone in the House already knows that Kat spent the first half of the game playing both sides and no one really cares. Jack has also considered stabbing Christie in the back and trying to convince everyone to keep him around so that he can go after her. Neither one of those plans seems likely to work but what’s really dooming Jack is his entire attitude. Even on the block, he can’t fake the humility necessary to not come across like he thinks he’s better than everyone else in the House.

For some reason, even though it’s pretty much guaranteed that he’s going to survive this week, Jackson told Holly that he’s going to blow up everyone’s game in his eviction speech. Holly asked to hear his speech, just for Jackson to reply, “I already know the speech is good. You’ll hear it on Thursday with everyone else.” Personally, I’d think it would be a better strategy to lay low and let Jack keep screwing up but I guess Jackson knows better.

Thursday cannot get here soon enough!

Big Brother 21 — Week 6 Veto Meeting Results

by Lisa Marie Bowman on August 5, 2019

Hi, everyone!

Well, this week just keep getting better and better!

Earlier today, Jessica held the power of veto meeting and she announced that she would NOT be using the veto. So, Jack and Jackson are still on the block and Christie’s power has now expired.

Jack is still clearly the target, even though he’s convinced himself that he has enough votes to stay. He and Analyse have made their pitches to both Cliff and Nick and Jack seems to think that he’s convinced both of them to vote to evict Jackson on Thursday. However, Cliff and Nick have both told Jessica and the other outsiders that they will be voting to evict Jack, so it appears that Jack’s got a surprise in store for him on Thursday. It also appears that Jack is under the impression that this week is going to be a double eviction. It’s not.

Christie spent all last night saying that she was going to blow up the house after the veto meeting, presumably by telling everyone that Holly and Kat know each other outside of the house. However, I have yet to see her actually doing any of that, perhaps because she doesn’t want anyone then finding out that she and Tommy were acquainted before the game started. As for Tommy, he just can’t stop crying about the prospect of Jack leaving.

As of right now, the vote should be 5-3 to send Jack to the jury. It’s totally possible that Christie and Tommy might change their minds and vote with the majority of the House, in which case it’ll be a 7-1 vote to evict Jack.

Thursday should be fun!

Big Brother 21 — The Six Shooters Are Still Breaking Down

by Lisa Marie Bowman on August 4, 2019

Hi, y’all!

So, for perhaps for the first time this season, I actually enjoyed watching Big Brother tonight. Even though I already knew what we would be seeing, it was still wonderful to watch the Six Shooters fall apart so dramatically. The Six Shooters went from being one of the most dominant alliances in Big Brother history to being a complete mess and it all happened within 24 hours.

And, here’s what’s really great about it: The week’s not over!

So, here’s the situation in the house right now:

Jack and Jackson are on the block.

Jessica has won the power of veto.

Jessica is absolutely not going to use the veto. Christie tried to convince her to use the veto to take down Jackson and to put up Nick. Nick tried to convince Jessica to use the veto on Jackson and to put up Tommy. Both of them argued that taking Jackson off the block would ensure that Jack went home. (Christie, however, was lying and basically wanted to blindside Nick.) Jessica considered both ideas but, as of right now, she is not using the veto.

So, come Thursday, either Jack or Jackson will be going to the jury house. Here’s how the vote is breaking down right now:

Holly, Cliff, Kat, and Nicole are all planning on voting to evict Jack.

Christie, Tommy, and Analyse want to evict Jackson.

Nick is kind of a floater. He’s said that he’ll vote however Jessica tells him to vote and Jessica wants Jack gone. So, if Nick votes for Jack, it would be a 5-3 vote to evict Jack.

So, right now, Jack and his allies are hoping to convince Nick and one other houseguest to flip their votes. Earlier today, Jack tried to approach Kat but he made the mistake of being his usual condescending self in their conversation and now Kat appears to be more determined than ever to vote him out. So now, Jack and company are planning on focusing their efforts on Cliff. They’re going to try to convince Cliff that Holly and Kat are friends outside the House and they think that, if they get Cliff paranoid enough, Cliff will flip.

If all of that happens and Jack is not evicted, the plan is to then bring Cliff and Nick into a new alliance with Jack, Christie, Tommy, and Analyse and to then target Kat and Holly for eviction.

It’s a big plan and it probably won’t work because everyone in the House hates Jack. Even Chrisite and Tommy have privately told each other that, if it looks like the votes can’t be flipped, they’ll go ahead and vote to evict Jack. Analyse appears to be the only person who is firmly committed to not out of Jack.

For his part, Jack seems to know that he’s going to voted out on Thursday. Just about an hour ago, he pulled Nick aside and made Nick promise to evict Analyse next so that Jack can have some company in the jury house.

What a guy, right?

Anyway, I can’t wait until Thursday! It should be fun!

Big Brother 21 — Week 6 Veto Comp Results

by Lisa Marie Bowman on August 3, 2019

Hi, everyone!

So, I don’t know where the current Jessica was for the first two months or so of the game but she is totally dominating the house right now.

First, she won HoH.

Then, she nominated Jack and Jackson for eviction.

And now …. JESSICA HAS WON THE GOLDEN POWER OF VETO!

What does this mean? Well, it means that one of the Jacks will be going to jury this week. Christie isn’t going to use her power and, if she did, it would simply mean that Jessica could take someone down and replace them with whoever she wanted. That’s a power that Jessica, as veto holder and HoH already has.

So, which one of the two Jacks will be going to the jury house? Jessica has made it clear that her target is Jack. Now, to be honest, I think it would be a better idea to go after Jackson but I guess the feeling is that Jack is a bigger challenge and social threat than Jackson.

So, as of right now, it looks like its “Bye bye, Jack” and the entire game is about to change.

Who would have guessed it would be Jessica who would end finally getting a six shooter out of the house?

Big Brother 21 — Week 6 Nominations

by Lisa Marie Bowman on August 2, 2019

So, you know how a lot of us have spent the past month and a half thoroughly frustrated by this season and desperately wishing that someone would do something to shake up the game?

Well, ask and yoy shall receive!

Over just the past 48 hours, the Big Brother House has been thrown into chaos. The Six Shooters are no more, with the members of the former alliance now all trying to distance themselves from their former allies. It all started with Sam exposing Christie’s game to the entire House. That wasn’t enough to keep Sam from getting voted out but it was enough to cause the other members of the Six Shooters to turn on Christie and Tommy.

Meanwhile, Jackson is now angry with Jack because he found out that Jack didn’t keep it a secret that Jackson cast that mystery vote to evict Jessica way back in Week 3. So, now, that bromance has now collapsed and with it, so has the friendship between Holly and Analyce. It doesn’t help that Analyce won’t stop complaining about how she doesn’t want to be in the House and how she wishes she could just go home. Holly and Kat spent a good deal of time earlier today talking about how much they both dislike Analyse, during which time they agreed that 1) she wasn’t as pretty as she thinks she is and 2) she’ll never score any endorsement outside the House because, as Kat put it, she doesn’t know the difference between “a noun, a very, and an adjective.”

And then, on top of all that, Jessica won HoH last night! Now, I have to admit that I was worried that Jessica would turn out to be another wishy-washy HoH but no, she actually made a big move. Earlier today, she announced her nominations and, for eviction, she nominated:

JACK AND JACKSON!

So now, Jack and Jackson are on the block! Jack has told Analyse that he’s convinced that he can trick Christie into using her power to save him but Christie has sworn to Jessica that she will not use her power this week. (This is also, I believe, the last week that Christie can use it.) Christie knows that if she did use her power to save Jack, she would automatically become the biggest target in the House.

So, we still have a veto to play through and who knows what strangeness could happen between now and Thursday. Christie could very well go back on her word and use her power to save someone. (We all know better than to depend too much on Christie keeping her word.) But, as of right now, it appears that either Jack or Jackson will be heading for the jury house on Thursday!

Big Brother 21 — Drama For Nothing

by Lisa Marie Bowman on August 1, 2019

Hi, everyone!

Well, it was another Thursday night in Big Brother 21, which means that there were some brief drama in the House, some excitement before the vote, and then the guy who we all thought was going home went home.

Despite getting evicted on a unanimous vote, Sam did come close to flipping the House. For a good deal of today, it looked like he may have actually pulled it off. Realizing that he was the target, Sam did something very smart. He basically told Holly and Jackson that Christie was plotting to break-up the couples at some point. Realizing that Christie could not be trusted, Jackson, Jack, Holly, and Analyse started talking about keeping Sam and forming a new alliance.

Apparently, that didn’t happen. I’m not sure what happened today while the feeds were down, beyond the fact that there was a lot of arguing going on amongst the Six Shooters. But, for whatever reason, they decided to go ahead and vote out Sam. I guess they decided that Nick was still a bigger threat and that he needed to be weakened by taking out his main ally. Or maybe Jack and Jackson decided that they didn’t full trust Sam enough to form a new alliance with him.

Still, just from all the fighting that went on today, it would appear that the Six Shooters are done. Christie looked like she was in a state of shock during tonight’s show and, in their goodbye speeches, both Kat and Sam made it clear that they both expected to be voted out. Those cracks in the alliance are finally splitting apart.

I was sad to see Sam go. I would have been sad to see Kat go, too. Hopefully, if nothing else, tonight will be the end of the Six Shooter Alliance. That alliance has so dominated the game that it’s made for a very boring season. The House needs to be shaken up and Sam may have at least accomplished that before leaving.

In other news, the jury starts next week! So, from now on, everyone voted out will be a member of the jury.

Also, this week, the viewers will be voting to send three houseguests on a field trip two weeks from now. Basically, the three who go will compete in a brand new competition. The winner of the comp wins immunity. The HG in 2nd place receives a punishment. And the 3rd place HG goes on the block as a third nominee. Remember, this will not effect this upcoming week but it will effect the week after. You can vote at CBS.com.

And now, we’re just waiting to find out who the new HoH is. The comp is going right now and the feeds are down.

Big Brother 21 — It’s Time To Vote Again!

by Lisa Marie Bowman on July 31, 2019

Hi y’all!

Well, it’s that time of the week! It’s the time when, the readers, get to let us know who you would vote out of the House if you were the one voting! That’s right — it’s time open up the diary room once again!

Do you vote to evict….

KAT, who seems to be off in her own little world

or

SAM, who …. also seems to be off in his own little world?

Now, you may be asking — how do I vote? Well, we’ve got three options for ya!

You can let us know in the comments below!

Or you can try to vote in the poll over on the right side of the page. Unfortunately, sometimes that poll works and sometimes it doesn’t. If it’s not working for you, go on over to the Big Brother Blog Facebook Page and cast your vote there! Here’s the link: Click Here!

And then be sure to watch tomorrow night to see who will be the next go home!

Happy voting!

Lisa Marie

P.S. I vote for Sam, even though I’ve grown to like him. But I really like Kat and I do think there’s a chance that she might go after Jackson at some point. Sorry, Sam!

{ Comments on this entry are closed }

So, tonight, I checked in with the Big Brother House and the first thing I saw was Analyse crouching down into one of the trashcans in the storage room.

“Analyse in a trash can!?” I said, “Sometimes, the jokes just write themselves….”

It turns out that Analyse wanted to prank Jack by jumping out of the trash can and scaring him. (You may remember that James previously spent two seasons doing the exact same thing and I wouldn’t be surprised if maybe someone in the diary room suggested that Analyse try to do the same thing, if just so Analyse can have some sort of identity beyond being the houseguest who doesn’t understand big words.) Well, Analyse did attempt to jump out of the trash can when Jack entered the storage room but Jack didn’t act surprised at all and then the trash can fell over with Analyse inside of it. That’s pretty much a perfect metaphor for Analyse’s game play so far.

So, right now, Sam and Kat are on the block together and Kat is feeling a little bit worried, though she has nothing to fear. Sam is the target and everyone — including Sam — knows that Sam is going to home on Thursday. Everyone agrees that they love Sam’s company but, as Tommy put it just a few minutes ago in a conversation with Anaylse, “It sucks that he has to go.”

As far as I can tell, it appears that Sam has given up. He’s told both Nick and Nicole to not vote for him on Thursday, so as not to hurt their own individual games.

Meanwhile, Nick has told Cliff that if he wins HoH, he’s considering targeting …. Jess? Why Jessica? Apparently, Nick is upset because Jess talks a big game but she always votes however Jack tells her. And I agree that is kind of annoying but why would you waste an HoH going after someone like Jessica as opposed to Jack or Jackson? I swear, I don’t really get where these people’s heads are at sometimes.

So, as of right now, it appears that Sam’s time in the Big Brother House is about to come to an end,

Big Brother 21 — Week 5 Veto Meeting Results

by Lisa Marie Bowman on July 29, 2019

Hi, everyone!

This is just a quick post to make it official. They did the veto meeting earlier today and, as expected, Nick took himself off the block. Holly nominated Kat (and not Nicole) as a replacement.

What this means is that Holly is really, really determined to get Sam out of the House this week. Originally, she was planning on nominating Nicole for eviction but she changed her mind specifically because she wasn’t sure that people would vote to keep Nicole over Sam. Even though she changed her mind, Holly and Analyse are still convinced that Nicole is some sort of secret challenge beast who is just biding her time. Analyse, in particular, seems to be frightened of Nicole and, as much as I hate to say it, I can’t help but feel that a lot of it has to do with jealousy. Analyse just isn’t very smart. She’s admitted as much in the house, at one point telling Holly and Christie that she was frustrated because everyone kept using big words and she couldn’t follow anyone’s conversations. Analyse then went on to explain that she didn’t know what an adjective is and that she has a heard time remembering the difference between a noun and a verb. Nicole, meanwhile, actually does have a vocabulary and can speak in complete sentences. No wonder Analyse thinks that Nicole’s some sort of secret genius plotting to take them all out!

I think what saved Nicole from going on the block was the belief that Sam will never betray Nick. As long as Sam is in the house, Nick will have an ally who is capable of winning stuff. So, the theory is that Nick will be permanently weakened if Sam is voted out. And they might be right.

Still, it’s a shame that Sam will probably be going this week. I’ve just started to like Sam. When the season first started, he got on my nerves because he was so loud and he always tried to be trying too hard in the diary room. But, he’s slowly won me over. If nothing else, he’s got a better sense of humor than either Jack or Jackson.

I don’t want to lose Kat either, though. Along with Nicole, she’s one of the few interesting people in the House.

So, in other words, this is going to be a frustrating week! Hopefully, something will happen at the next HoH comp to shake things up!

Big Brother 21 — Frustration

by Lisa Marie Bowman on July 28, 2019

Hi, everyone!

I swear, I have never had as much trouble getting into a season of Big Brother as I’ve had with this one. Even with Big Brother 19, which I absolutely hated, I could still summon up at least a little bit of hope that, at some point, people would realize that Paul had to go. At the very least, if things in the House weren’t going well, I could always make fun of Raven and Matt.

But this season — I mean, seriously! It’s not just that the main alliance is made up of six of the most unlikable players in the history of the game. There’s also the fact that even the likable houseguests aren’t particularly good at Big Brother. I mean, I love Nicole and I love Cliff and I’ve come around to liking Kat but none of them really seem to have it in them to actually step up and take control of the game. Instead, they’re just passively waiting for the main alliance to start to turn on each other.

For instance, Nicole is perfectly aware that there’s a good chance she might go onto the block as a replacement nominee. And, even though everyone keeps telling her that Sam is going to be voted out regardless, it seems like she should know better than to just shrug that off. She should be running around, trying to make deals or, at the very least, she should be thinking about how she’s going to campaign if she is nominated. Instead, Nicole is just passively waiting.

And then you have Kat. Kat is the other possible replacement nominee this week. Kat can’t seem to figure out which alliance she belongs to. Instead, she’s floating from one side of the house to another. Whenever she leaves a room, she says, “Don’t you all conspire against me while I’m gone.” But they are conspiring against you, Kat. And they’re being pretty obvious about it too.

It just gets frustrating!

As of right now, Nick has the veto and he’s going to use it to save himself. Holly’s initial plan was to put Nicole up as a replacement but Christie has been pressuring her to put up Kat instead. Christie is really determined to get Sam out this week and she feels that, if Nicole is nominated, Nicole will become the target. Analyse wants Holly to put up Nicole because she keeps saying that she doesn’t know where Nicole’s head is at. Analyse has apparently decided that Nicole is some sort of secret genius and that she’s actually the biggest threat in the game. It kinda reminds me of when Frankie Grande decided that Donny was actually a NASA engineer.

If I had to guess, I’d say that Holly will probably end up going with Nicole as the replacement but it’s hard to say. In the end, it’ll probably come down to whoever Jackson wants her to put up.

Speaking of Jackson, Christie and Tommy were talking earlier about they both want to get Jackson out of the house. Christie said that Jackson has to go but then she said, “It’s too soon, though.”

Really!? HOW IS IT EVER TO SOON TO GET RID OF A POWER PLAYER!?

As I said before, it’s just frustrating.
