Celebrity Big Brother 2: Waiting….

by Lisa Marie Bowman on January 25, 2019

Well, I’m just sitting here, waiting for the live feeds to come back. CBS said that the HoH comp would start immediately after the live eviction and that it would be on the live feeds. It’s been about two hours since Jonathan left the house and the live feeds are down. So, I don’t know what’s going on.

While we wait, here’s a quick recap of what we learned tonight:

Regarding the Mooch, it appears that CBS’s official story is going to be that the Mooch was always intended to leave the House and that he was brought in to launch the Mooch’s veto twist. I’m not sure if I buy that. Usually, twists are shared with the audience long before their shared with the houseguests. Plus, if Mooch was really planning on leaving after a week, why would he go through the trouble to start an alliance with Tom and Kato?

And, even if the twist was legitimately planned out ahead of time, it was massively unfair to Ryan. It’s kinda like in Big Brother 19, when Cody was literally forced to nominate almost the entire house during his time as HoH. Even if the twist was real, it was an unnecessary one and I wish they hadn’t done it.

As far as the vote went, the final vote was 6-1-0. Dina voted for Kandi, even though she knew everyone else in the house was voting for Jonathan. Jonathan, it should be remembered, co-starred with Dina’s daughter in Mean Girls and supposedly, he’s still close to the Lohan family. So, Dina’s vote is not a surprise. What surprised me is that Tamar voted for Jonathan as she was pretty adamant about voting for Kandi just yesterday. I guess Tamar decided, in the end, it was more important to go with the House.

So now, we’re waiting for the new HoH comp to begin. It’s an endurance comp and …. IT JUST STARTED!

It’s the Rock Til You Drop Wall Comp — basically, everyone has to hang onto the wall and I guess the last person up there becomes HoH. Okay, I’ll be watching and posting the winner in the comments below!

It’s Time To Open Up The Diary Room!

by Lisa Marie Bowman on January 24, 2019

So, here’s the current situation in the Big Brother House. Ryan is the HoH. Sitting on the block are Jonathan, Joey, and Kandi. Ryan and Jonathan think that Kandi is going but, as of right now, it appears that Jonathan is going to be blindsided.

Dina and Tamar are planing on voting for Kandi, while Natalie, Lolo, Ricky, Tom, and Kato are planning on voting for Jonathan. However, when last I checked, Kato was having doubts and he was talking to Tom about whether or not they should change the plan and vote Dina and Tamar, to evict Kandi. Kato’s thinking is that, if they save Jonathan, Jonathan and Ryan will owe Kato and Tom. Tom, however, seems to be pretty determined to vote out Jonathan and Kato is probably going to do what Tom says.

So, right now, it looks like it will be a 5-2 vote to evict Jonathan.

Now, our longtime blog readers know what’s coming up:

IT’S TIME TO OPEN UP THE DIARY ROOM!

That’s right! It’s time to let us know who you would vote to evict! Would you vote for:

Jonathan, the cakeman

Joey, the no alliance man

or

Kandi, the real housewife?

Cast you vote either in the poll on the right side of the page or in the comments below! And then be sure to tune into Celebrity Big Brother on Friday night to see who gets voted out!

Happy voting,

Lisa Marie

Celebrity Big Brother 2: Who Has Left The House?

by Lisa Marie Bowman on January 23, 2019

If you watched tonight’s episode of Celebrity Big Brother, you saw the following:

  1. You saw Ryan and Jonathan both get a bad case of HoHitis, which led to them alienating the rest of their alliance.
  2. You saw Tamar and Kandi get into a big fight over stuff that apparently happened before they entered the house.
  3. You saw Ricky win the very first power of veto. Ryan, who had decided that the girls were forming an alliance and that he needed to get Lolo out of the house, tried to talk Ricky into using the veto to save Jonathan so that he could put Lolo on the block.
  4. Ricky promptly told the girls what Ryan was planning, which made them even more determined to blindside Jonathan and end the Ryan/Jonathan power alliance before it could do any damage in the house.
  5. Then, at the veto ceremony, Ricky decided not to use the veto, leaving Tom, Jonathan, and the Mooch on the block.

It was pretty much a typical episode of Big Brother. However, if you have the live feeds, you know that none of it really mattered. Two days after the veto ceremony that we watched tonight, the Mooch left the house. He self-evicted.

Why did the Mooch leave? I’m not totally sure on the details. Kato has been saying that the Mooch was some sort of “mole” and he was kicked off the show. The Mooch, himself, is currently in Switzerland and he says that he only signed a 1-week contract with Celebrity Big Brother and that he was always planning on leaving so he could attend the Davos Economic Forum.

What we do know is that, after the Mooch left, Ryan was told that he had to pick a replacement nominee. (Why Big Brother didn’t just cancel this week’s eviction, I don’t know.) So, Ryan put Kandi on the block. Needless to say, the women in the house were not happy about this because it just confirmed that Ryan is looking to do a Boys vs. Girls season.

Then, they played a second veto comp. And this time, Kato won the veto and, earlier today, he used it to save Tom Green. So, Tom is safe now. Ryan had to pick a replacement nominee so he selected Joey. He even asked Joey if he was okay with being a pawn and Joey said, “Sure.” So, now Joey is on the block and he’s actually happy about it because he thinks it will keep people from realizing that he’s working with Ryan and Jonathan.

Meanwhile, the women are still planning on blindsiding Jonathan but Ryan is convinced that they’ll vote however he tells them to. He also thinks that Ricky is going to vote for Kandi but Ricky is very good at playing both sides of the house so I imagine he’ll do whatever the majority does.

So, at this point, it looks like Jonathan’s about to get blind-sided. We’ll see what happens on Friday when we have our first eviction of the summer!

Celebrity Big Brother 2: And Your Nominees Are….

by Lisa Marie Bowman on January 22, 2019

Hi, y’all!

So, tonight was the conclusion of the Celebrity Big Brother premiere. We not only got our first Head of Household but we also got our first two alliances and our first three nominees!

That’s right! Three nominees!

To the surprise of probably no one, Ryan Lochte defeated Jonathan Bennett to become the 1st Head of Household. (They had to swing around and knock blocks off of two billboards. There really wasn’t much doubt that Ryan would win, though Jonathan put up a good effort.) Since Jonathan lost, that meant he became the first nominee. However, Julie Chen Moonves then popped up to explain that, even though Jonathan was now on the block, Ryan would still be nominating two people to join him.

That was good news for Jonathan. Even better news for Jonathan is that he managed to form an alliance with Ryan, Lolo, and Natalie. It’s an athlete’s alliance and they seem to be pretty strong. (Originally, Jonathan wanted to do a Power Alliance of Seven but it turned out that Joey doesn’t “do alliances” So, apparently, Jonathan decided to just go with four.) Meanwhile, The Mooch, Tom, and Kato formed an alliance of three, a self-described nerd’s alliance. As the Mooch explained it, they would just wait “in the back” and watch while everyone else played themselves out of the game.

That’s not a bad strategy but it hit an immediate snag. Taking Jonathan’s advice, Ryan nominated Tom and the Mooch for eviction. So, will this be the end of the Nerd’s Alliance or will Jonathan totally alienate everyone in the House by playing too hard? We’ll find out this week!

Big Brother After Dark starts tonight on PopTV and the live feeds should be coming on around the same time. Tomorrow, on the CBS show, we’ll get to see the very first veto comp of the 2nd season of Celebrity Big Brother!

See you then!

Celebrity Big Brother 2: Who Are These People?

by Lisa Marie Bowman on January 21, 2019

Hi, everyone!

Well, it’s time for the 2nd season of Celebrity Big Brother and that means the blog is back!  For the next month, I’ll be covering the show here on this blog and, of course, in our Facebook group.

Now, first things first, here are the “celebrities” that will be appearing on this year’s season of Celebrity Big Brother.  Some of them are better known than others.  That’s one of the unfortunate realities of celebrity reality television.  Celebrity is often just another way of saying, “Someone who is kinda famous and needs the money.”

We’ve got 12 houseguests, 7 men and 5 women.

The women are:

Dina Lohan, the mother of Lindsay Lohan

Kandi Burruss, a singer and songwriter who is one of the Real Housewives of Atlanta

Lolo Jones is an Olympic gold medalist who has competed in both track and bobsled.

Eva Marie is a former professional wrestler.

Tamar Braxton is a singer and songwriter who currently appears on Braxton family values.

The men are:

Anthony Scaramucci, who was briefly President Trump’s press secretary

Joey Lawrence, who played Blossom’s brother in the 90s and then went on to appear in a few Lifetime movies.

Jonathan Bennett, an actor who appeared in Mean Girls with Dina’s daughter, Lindsay Lohan.

Kato Kaelin, an unsuccessful actor who is best known for once living with OJ Simpson.  Kato also had a show on the Fox Reality Channel called I Want To Be A Reality Star.  During the final episode (which was broadcast live), he got mad and stormed off the set.

Ricky Williams is a former NFL running back and medical marijuana enthusiast.

Ryan Lochte is an Olympic swimmer who is kind of like the evil version of Michael Phelps.

Tom Green is an actor and a comedian who was briefly married to Drew Barrymore and who wrote, directed, and starred in one of the worst films of all time, Freddy Got Fingered.

Tonight’s show started off by answering one question that everyone’s had since the end of Big Brother 20.  Yes, Julie Chen is back to host and her name is still Julie Chen Moonves.

The first six to enter the house were Ryan, Tamar, Lolo, Tom, Eva Marie, and Kato.  Tom Green looked notably confused when Kato came out on stage, like maybe he wasn’t sure who Kato was.

The second six to enter the house were Joey, Dina, Jonathan, Kandi, Ricky, and Anthony.  Inside the house, Kandi and Tamar give each other the side eye while Anthony and Tom both bonded over being fired by Donald Trump.

Julie Chen Moonves popped up on the big living room screen and told them that, this season, they’ll be competing for HoH in pairs.  Ryan picked Jonathan to compete with him.  Tamar picked Kandi.  Lolo picked Tom.  Joey picked Ricky.  Dina picked Anthony.  Because no one picked Kato or Eva Marie, they didn’t get to compete for HoH but they also got immunity for the first eviction.

(I HATE TWISTS!)

So, the HoH comp was one of those comps where the pairs had to sit in swings and had to catch liquid in a glass and then transfer it from a glass to the bowl below.  It took the celebs a while to figure just how exactly to go back and forth in their swings.  Ryan and Jonathan were the first team to actually figure out how to make the swings work and, not surprisingly, they won the competition.  To be honest, it didn’t really appear that anyone else even came close.  (Tamar and Kandi never even figured out how to get the swings to work.)

Julie Chen Moonves then told the audience that, even though Ryan and Jonathan won the comp, only one of them could be HoH.  “It’s time for game-changing surprise!” she announced, right before going to commercial.

When we came back from commercial, Julie told the HGs that Ryan and Jonathan would now have to battle against each other to determine which one of them would become HoH.  The winner would be HoH while the loser would become the first nominee.

And then the show ended.  Tomorrow, we’ll see who becomes the first HoH.  I’ll tell you what I’ve heard but first….

What I’ve heard is that Ryan won.  That would mean that Jonathan become the first nominee.  We’ll see if that’s right tomorrow!  As for the live feeds, they start tomorrow as does Big Brother After Dark on Pop TV.

See you then!

Big Brother 20: That’s a wrap!

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 26, 2018

Hi y’all!

Well, that’s a wrap.  The 20th season of Big Brother has just come to an end and a new winner has been selected.  Obviously, if you haven’t seen the show yet, this is going to be a spoiler so I’m going to create some spoiler space just in case anyone clicked on this post by accident.

SPOILER

SPOILER

By a vote of 5-4, Kaycee defeated Tyler and won Big Brother 20!  Unlike last year’s narrow victory, Kaycee’s victory wasn’t really a shock.  It was pretty obvious that any jury with Bayleigh and Rockstar on it was going to be a bitter one and Kaycee played a good game without getting anyone mad at her.  Tyler may have played the superior strategic game but he upset a lot of people.  If he had gotten Bayleigh and Rockstar out pre-jury and had managed to keep Winston and Rachel around, he probably would have won.

But, he didn’t.  In the end, Tyler received votes from JC, Brett, Angela, and Haleigh.  Rockstar, Bayleigh, Faysal, and Scottie all went with Kaycee, which was no surprise.  What was surprising was that Sam voted for Kaycee but I guess Tyler’s betrayal hurt her more than most of us realized.  Sam seemed to be the most wounded member of the jury.  I’m still not sure if she really understood what type of game she was playing.

That said, Tyler still won America’s Favorite Player, so he went home with $75,000.  Kaycee won $500,000.

So, what did everyone think of the season?  I enjoyed it.  I got a little bit bored after the jury battleback because, at that point, it was pretty obvious how things were going to play out but still, this was definitely an improvement over season 19!  To be honest, I was hoping Tyler would win but I can’t complain about Kaycee’s victory.

Both Celebrity Big Brother and regular Big Brother will return next year and so will this blog!  Thank you to everyone for reading and commenting, both on here and in the Big Brother Blog Facebook Group.  Coverage of Survivor starts tomorrow at the Reality TV Chat Blog and I hope to see y’all there!

I want to give out some special shout outs!  Thank you to Bill, the BBBlogger, who first invited me to write about Big Brother 6 seasons ago.  This site couldn’t exist without Bill’s hard work behind the scenes.  Thank you to Jeff Taylor, who has do so much this season to help out with the Facebook group!  Thank you to my sister, Erin, who kept an eye on the House when I couldn’t!  And most of you, thank you to all of you!  Thank you so much for making this a wonderful season!  Y’all are the best!  Thank you for letting me be a part of your summer!

Love,

Lisa Marie

Big Brother 20: All Good Things Don’t Have To Come To An End

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 24, 2018

Hi y’all!

So, with nothing happening in the Big Brother House other than Tyler and Kaycee waiting for the chance to face off on finale night, today is the perfect time to make an important announcement about the future of this blog.

As some of you know, I was massively burned out at the end of Big Brother 19.  It had been a terrible season.  The only thing more painful than watching it was writing about it.  As often happens during a mediocre Big Brother season, the BB fandom had responded by bickering among themselves about whether the season was just bad or the worst ever.  Even on this blog, it seemed like we couldn’t go a day without a fighting breaking out.  Let me tell you, when you’re already struggling to find something interesting to write about, it doesn’t help when every comment under your post is someone yelling at someone else.  It’s not fun.

Last season, BBBlogger and I were both ready to quit as soon as Josh picked up his check.  But, we decided to do one more season before closing down…

And I am so glad that we did!

Now, I know it’s debatable whether this has been a great season or not.  Some people think it’s one of the greatest seasons ever.  Some people think it’s overrated.  Myself, I think it started out strong but the previous few weeks have gotten a bit boring.  That’s just my opinion.  You’re free to agree or disagree.

But I have had an absolute blast writing about it this year!  This season, with all of the blindsides and the scheming and the strange personalities, reminded me of why I accepted BBBlogger’s offer to write for this site in the first place!  And there haven’t been any fights on the site this season, either.  There’s been some disagreements but, for the most part, they’ve all been handled respectfully.

So, what I’m saying is that the Big Brother Blog will be back next season, for bother Celebrity Big Brother and Big Brother 21.  And hopefully, it’ll be around for many seasons after that!  Yes, we are returning!

(If you’re a Survivor fan, my sister and I will be covering the upcoming season over at the Reality TV Chat Blog!)

Thank you everyone for making this a fun season to write about and I look forward to seeing all of you next season!

As for Big Brother, the finale is on Wednesday!  See you then!

Big Brother 20: The Second Part of the HoH Comp

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 22, 2018

Hi y’all!

So, it appears that they just completed the 2nd part of the HoH comp in the Big Brother House.  Since Tyler won the first part, the second part of the competition was between Kayce and JC.  It was a physical comp so I guess we shouldn’t be surprised by the fact that…

KAYCEE WON THE COMP!

That means that, on Wednesday, Kaycee and Tyler will be facing off in the third part of the comp and the winner will chose who to take to the final three with them.  So, JC’s fate is now basically in the hands of two people who have a had a final two deal since their first week in the House.

JC’s in a pretty bad spot right now, though I’m not sure if he realizes it.  He still seems to think that he can convince Tyler to evict Kaycee, assuming that Tyler wins the part 3.  The third part of the final HoH comp is usually a mental comp, which would probably favor Tyler.  However, you never know.  Last season, for instance, Josh beat Paul in part 3 of the comp despite not exactly being the most mentally alert player in the house.

Anyway, that’s the situation right now.  Regardless of who wins the final HoH, it now looks pretty certain that JC is going to be the final jury and that this season is going to come down to Tyler vs. Kaycee.

Lisa Marie

P.S. There will be an announcement on Monday about this site.  Keep an eye out for it!

Big Brother 20: The First Part of the Final HoH Comp

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 21, 2018

Hi y’all!

Well, we are down to the final three, which means that the upcoming days will feature a three-part HoH comp.  Basically, it goes like this:

All three of the HGs play in the first part.

The second part is between the two losers of the first part.

The third and final part is between the winner of the 1st and 2nd parts.

Whoever wins the third part is the final HoH of the season and picks who they want to take to the final two with them.  They also get to evict the final member of the jury.

Last night, they did the first part of the HoH comp.  It was an endurance competition and Tyler won!  That means that Tyler now gets to sit back and relax until finale night.  The second comp will be between JC and Kaycee.  And then whoever wins that one will compete against Tyler to be the final HoH.

Right now, Tyler is in a pretty good spot, as far as getting to the final two is concerned.  He has a final two deal with both Kaycee and JC.  Kaycee has said a thousand times that she’s going to honor that deal and her decision to evict Angela last night pretty much proved that Kaycee’s telling the truth.  As for JC, he’s been saying that Kaycee can’t be beaten so I doubt he would want to take her to the final two.

So, Tyler seems to be guaranteed a spot in the final two.  The only question is whether the jury is going to be interested in anything that he has to say.  If this is a bitter jury, Tyler’s going to be in trouble.  In fact, on twitter, Dan Gheesling has pretty much announced that if Tyler loses, then that means the days of rewarding the best strategist may be over and that future Big Brother houseguests are going to have to concentrate more on winning comps and perfecting their social game.  We’ll see if he’s right.

So, that’s where we are right now.  When I have the information on who won the 2nd part of the comp, I’ll be sure to post it.

Until then, we’re just counting down the days until the finale!

Lisa Marie
