Big Brother: Veto Ceremony Spoilers

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 10, 2018

Hi, everyone!

Okay, so today, they did the veto ceremony.  Before I talk about that (because, honestly, nothing really that interesting happened during the ceremony), I want to address some speculation that I’ve seen online.

We all know what’s been going on for the last few days.  Les Moonves, the president of CBS and the husband of Julie Chen, has been accused of sexually harassing and assaulting several women, over a period of time that stretches from the late 80s to the early aughts.  When the first accusations came out, Julie issued a brief statement in which she stood by Moonves.  This weekend, six more women stepped forward.  Moonves has stepped down as the president of CBS and whether Julie Chen is going to stay at the network is questionable.  She released a statement this morning saying that she was taking a leave of absence from The Talk but that she would host Thursday’s live episode of Big Brother.

If you go on twitter right now, you will find a surprisingly large number of people who are convinced that, if Julie leaves CBS, that means that Big Brother is going to be canceled.  Let me assure you right now: Big Brother is not going to be canceled.  As long as a show is making money for a network, it’s not going to be canceled.  Right now, Big Brother is a moneymaker.  The show regularly wins its time slot and it’s also cheap to produce.  So, ignore the doomsayers online.  At the most, next season may have a new host but Big Brother isn’t going anywhere.

As for today’s veto meeting, Kaycee did …

NOT USE THE POWER OF VETO!

I know, I know.  As Danielle would say, “Shocka!”  There was no reason for Kaycee to use the veto and she didn’t.  So, on Thursday night, Sam and Haleigh will be sitting on the block and, unless Sam lets her paranoia get the better of her and ends up pulling a Rachel, Haleigh will be voted out.

However, what happens after Haleigh’s voted out?  Who goes next in the double eviction?

Of course, it all depends on who wins the second HoH.  Once Haleigh’s gone, Tyler will basically have a final two deal with every single person left in the House.  So, I imagine he will not want to win HoH because, if he does, there’s no way he can’t betray someone.  If Angela wins HoH, I have a feeling that she’ll probably nominate Sam and JC and Sam will be evicted.

Brett has been saying that he thinks Angela and Tyler need to be broken up but, if he won HoH, would he actually have the courage to nominate one of them?  You can ask the same question of JC.  Personally, I don’t think either one of them would.  I get the feeling that they both would just go ahead and play it safe by targeting Sam.  If Sam wins HoH, I imagine that she’ll definitely nominate Angela for eviction but I don’t know who else she would put up there.  JC maybe?

As always, we’ll see what happens on Thursday.  What I can say for sure is that Haleigh’s about to go to the jury house and Level 6 is about to have to turn on each other.

Big Brother 20: Veto Results

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 9, 2018

Hi everyone!

It took them a while to get started but they finally played for the veto today.  It was apparently the Big Brother Comic Book comp and everyone was selected to play except for JC.  That meant that JC not only got to host but he also got to spend a few hours locked in the HoH room by himself.

Anyway, the winner of the veto was…

KAYCEE!

That’s right.  For the third week in a row, Kaycee has won the golden power of veto.  Apparently, it only took her two minutes to complete her part of the competition.  That is a new Big Brother record as far as BB comics are concerned!

Anyway, with Kaycee winning the veto, that pretty much means that Haleigh’s lost her final chance to stay in the house.  Kaycee is going to keep her nominations the same.  Unless Sam really screws up somehow, Haleigh will be the first person evicted on Thursday night.

The veto meeting is on Monday!  As for Sunday’s episode of Big Brother, I’m going to guess that most of it will be about the former houseguests dropping by the house for Nicole and Victor’s engagement.  And, of course, we’ll get to see how Haleigh reacted when her face appeared on the nomination wall for the fourth time.

That’s it for now because it’s really, really late.

Big Brother 20: Kaycee’s Nominations

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 7, 2018

Hi y’all!

So, as you’ve probably either heard or seen, the feeds were down for several hours today.  There was a lot of speculation that someone might have self-evicted or maybe JC had been kicked out but instead, it turned out that a bunch of former HGs showed up at the house, including Nicole and Victor.  Victor asked Nicole to marry him and she said yes.

I imagine that the majority of Sunday’s show will be taken up with the whole Victor/Nicole thing, kind of like when Jeff and Jordan returned to the Big Brother House to get engaged.  So, if you’re a fan of Victor and Nicole, you might enjoy it.  Myself, I’m just cringing because I’ve heard that Paul and Josh were among the former houseguests who showed up at the house today.

Anyway, once all that was taken care of, Kaycee made her nominations and they’re not a shock at all.  I did think that Kaycee would nominate JC instead of Sam but no.  Instead, Sam and Haleigh are up on the block together and this time, Haleigh is definitely the target.  Depending on what happens with the veto, I imagine that this week will be full of tears.  Haleigh already said that she was probably going to have a nervous breakdown if she had to go on the block again and Sam is always paranoid about being blindsided.

The veto’s tomorrow!  If Haleigh doesn’t win it, she’ll be the first one voted out on Thursday.

Big Brother 20: About Tonight

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 6, 2018

Hi y’all!

So, there was a lot of fanfare and excitement when Scottie returned to the house.  And now, one week later, Scottie has once again exited the house.  Every single houseguest — even Sam — voted to evict him.  By a vote of 5-0, Scottie was evicted for second time.  He entered with a bang and left with a whimper.

Before he left, Scottie used his eviction speech to make a comment about Angela giving Tyler “lots of Hilton Head.”  I’m going to guess that 1) Scottie was informed, shortly before the show, that he actually wasn’t the pawn and that 2) Scottie is probably going to be a bitter juror.  Tyler’s goodbye message to Scottie — in which he bragged about never using the power app and then asked Scottie to pass that information along to his friends on the jury — felt incredibly smarmy.  All in all, this was one of the more unpleasant evictions that we’ve had this season.

As for the HoH comp, it was won by Kaycee!  Kaycee has really been coming on strong these past few weeks.  She’s won hacker, she’s won two vetoes, and now she’s won HoH.  She’s actually putting together a pretty good resume for herself.  It’ll be interesting to see if the other members of Level 6 start to view her as being a possible threat to their own game.

Anyway, Kaycee is now HoH and, since she’s a loyal team player, I assume that her target with Haleigh.  Who will she put on the block next to Haleigh?  JC seems like the obvious choice, since he’s the only person in the house who hasn’t been nominated so far.  Sam’s the other possibility but I don’t think anyone wants to spend the entire week dealing with an angry Sam.

Now, it all seems pretty simple but you have to remember that Brett is getting paranoid about Tyler and Angela.  If he tries to make a move this week and convince Kaycee to blindside Tyler and Angela, it could get interesting but I get the feeling that Brett will probably play it safe and wait until after Haleigh’s been evicted before he tries anything.

Finally, next Thursday is going to be the season’s only double eviction!  It’s about time!

Big Brother 20: “It’s what we’re good at.”

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 4, 2018

Hi y’all!

Well, despite some of the doubt that Tyler and Angela expressed about keeping Haleigh last night, it would appear that they’ve decided to just stick with targeting Scottie this week.  Kaycee was just up in the HoH room with them and she asked them point blank if they were going to blindside Scottie this week.

Tyler replied, “I guess.”

“It’s what we’re good at,” Angela agreed.

So, it would appear that Scottie is about to head back to the jury house.  He’s been told that he’s just the pawn this week and that Haleigh is the target but Scottie is still campaigning to be kept in the house.  From what I’ve seen today, he’s been focusing most of his efforts on Brett and JC.  Scottie has been telling both of them about how Haleigh had deals with everyone in the jury house and that, if she manages to get to the end, all of the former members of the Hive will vote for her.  He has a point but I think everyone feels that they can get rid of Haleigh any time that they want.

(Angela is also convinced that, even if Haleigh wins HoH on Thursday, Sam will be Haleigh’s target.)

JC, for the record, did flat out ask Scottie if Faysal said anything about who had convinced him to target Scottie in the first place.  Scottie replied that Faysal tried to blame JC but Scottie assumed that he was just lying to protect Haleigh.  Now, I doubt that Scottie really believes that but obviously, he’s trying to stay on JC’s good side.

Not surprisingly, everyone in the house has been asking Scottie about how Bayleigh and Rockstar feel towards the rest of them.  Apparently, despite all of the nasty goodbye messages, the houseguests do realize that there is a risk of getting a bitter jury.  According to Scottie, Bayleigh is okay with everyone while Rockstar is apparently still angry and still talking about spoiled and entitled Angela is.  Of course, Scottie has continually been reminding everyone that all three of the current jury members would probably vote for Haleigh to win the game.

For what it’s worth, I do think that Haleigh could still make it to the final two.  Though the plan is to evict her next week, Haleigh could always win HoH and there are some cracks starting to form in the Level 6 alliance.  As Margie pointed out in the comments under the last post, Brett is feeling threatened by the relationship between Angela and Tyler and he’s considering breaking off and forming a new alliance with Haleigh, Sam, and JC.  If Brett makes that move, it could lead to so much fighting among the members of the Level 6 that they might forget about Haleigh and she could conceivably sneak her way into the finale.

Will Scottie be blindsided or will the house realize that, even if she isn’t a challenge threat, Haleigh is a threat if she makes it to the final two?  We’ll find out soon!

Big Bother 20: Veto Ceremony Results

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 3, 2018

Hi y’all!

Once again, due to the holiday, this is going to be a short update.  I was out for most of the day and I’ve only now really gotten a chance to get caught up with today’s live feeds.

The big event of the day was the veto ceremony.  As was expected, Kaycee did not use the veto and Haleigh and Scottie are still on the block.  Apparently, everyone knew there was no chance that Kaycee was going to use the veto so it was a pretty relaxed meeting.  Scottie and Haleigh both apparently gave “funny” speeches.  Haleigh has never struck me as having that sharp of a sense of humor so I guess we’ll have to wait until Wednesday to see just how witty she was.

Up until today, I was 99% confident that the rest of the House would stick to the original plan and that Scottie would be voted out on Thursday.  However, Haleigh is getting on everyone’s nerves.  She seems to be really worried that she’s going to be blindsided and she keeps seeking reassurances that she won’t be.  It doesn’t help that Scottie told her that Tyler told him that Haleigh was his target.

Tyler has assured Haleigh that Scottie is the target but, just a few minutes ago, he was talking to Angela and he said that Haleigh has gotten really annoying.  They agreed that if Haleigh told Scottie that he was the actual target then they should go ahead and blindside Haleigh this week.

So, as of right now, it would appear that it all depends on Haleigh.  If Haleigh keeps quiet and continue to allow Scottie to think that she’s the target, she’ll be safe.  If she tells Scottie that he’s actually the target, then she could be voted out this week.  Either way, it would appear that someone is going to get blindsided.

Speaking of blindsided, Angela and Tyler aren’t doing a very good job of hiding their showmance.  JC is getting paranoid about them.  (I also think JC, like Sam, is a bit jealous that Tyler is spending all of his time with someone else.)  So, there’s now a chance that JC might turn on Tangela.  Wouldn’t it be ironic if Tyler’s game collapsed for the same reason that Swaggy and Faysal’s games collapsed?  Showmances are the kiss of death this season!

That’s it for now!

Big Brother 20: What is Haleigh Doing?

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 2, 2018

Hi y’all!

Well, I seriously thought that I was going to take this weekend off from the blog.  I figured that it wouldn’t matter since this is a holiday weekend and we already know that Kaycee isn’t going to use the veto and that Scottie’s the target.  I figured it would be safe to not post this Sunday.

However, I just checked in with the house and I saw something that I simply have to report.  It probably won’t change the outcome of the vote on Thursday but Haleigh is campaigning hard.  In fact, she might be campaigning a little bit too hard.  She seems to be totally paranoid that she’s going to be blindsided this week and sent to the jury (where, of course, she’d be reunited with Faysal).  Remember what happened when Rachel got paranoid that she was going to be blindsided?  She got so desperate and annoying that everyone decided to go ahead and vote her out.

Ever since Faysal was voted out, Haleigh’s been telling everyone that she never had any idea what Faysal was going to do before he did it and that he and she never really discussed strategy.  I can understand her logic here.  After the previous three weeks, there’s nothing to be gained from being linked to Faysal or any other member of the Hive.  The only problem is that Haleigh isn’t as convincing as she thinks she is.  She’s repeated this story so many times that it’s just reminding people that she can’t be trusted.  (Fortunately, for her, no one trusts Scottie either.)

When I got home tonight and turned on the feeds, the first thing I saw was Haleigh in Tyler’s HoH room.  Haleigh was, not surprisingly, saying that she was freaking out and asking Tyler to assure her that she wasn’t the target.  She also told him that Scottie is bitter and can’t be trusted and is plotting on targeting Tyler and Angela.  In Haleigh’s telling, Scottie is basically the most dangerous person to ever enter the Big Brother House.

Then suddenly, Haleigh blurted out that, after Angela won HoH, Haleigh spotted Tyler, Angela, Kaycee, and Brett celebrating together.  Haleigh went on to say that it made it look as if they had a four-member alliance.  Tyler just played dumb but, being the type of player that Tyler is, I imagine that there are alarm bells going off in his head.  What if Haleigh were to go to Sam and JC and tell them that Tyler in in a final four deal with Kaycee, Angela, and Brett?

In short, I don’t know what Haleigh’s thinking.  Right now, she should be trying to lay low and let Scottie dig his own grave.  Instead, she’s running upstairs and giving Tyler an excuse to target her!

Now, to be clear, I don’t think Tyler’s necessarily going to change his mind.  I imagine that Scottie will remain the target but still, if something does happen and Haleigh’s voted out on Thursday, it’ll be because of what she said tonight.

We’ll see what happens!

Big Brother 20: Veto Comp Results

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 1, 2018

Hi, y’all!

Because of the holiday weekend, I’m going to have to keep this post short.  Fortunately, there’s really nothing new to report, beyond the veto comp results.

They played for the veto earlier today.  The players in the comp were Tyler, Haleigh, Scottie, Kaycee, Sam, and JC.  The feeds just come back from the comp and the winner of the Golden Power of Veto is … KAYCEE!

(So, by the standards that were earlier set by Faysal, Kaycee is now officially a comp beast.)

I’m not sure what the comp was exactly but Haleigh was just saying that JC came very close to winning.  What comp could JC win?  I guess it could have been the one where they have to unscramble the faces but that veto usually takes a lot longer than tonight’s did.  I guess we’ll find out soon.

Anyway, what does this mean for the House?  Not much.  Kaycee isn’t going to use the veto, which means that Haleigh and Scottie will remain on the block and Scottie will probably return to the jury house on Thursday.  I think Scottie is the first houseguest since Kaysar to return to the house and then get voted out just one week later.

Have a safe holiday weekend, everyone!

Big Brother 20: Nomination Spoilers

by Lisa Marie Bowman on August 31, 2018

Hi y’all!

Okay, so here’s what happened after Scottie reentered the house.

The HoH comp was that thing where they have to hold onto a robe while being spun around and hit by random objects and whoever was the last person to fall off would be the new HoH.  It ultimately came down to Tyler and Haleigh.  While the two of them were spinning around, Sam started to cheer for Tyler and encouraging him to hold on.  This massively ticked off Haleigh, which would have been bad news for Sam except that Haleigh finally ended up falling before Tyler.

So, Tyler became the new HoH.  Level 6 continues to hold all the power in the house.  As soon as Tyler won, he let his alliance know that he was going to nominate Haleigh and Scottie for eviction, with Scotttie as the main target.  (Tyler feels that Scottie can’t be trusted and he also thinks that Haleigh can be easily manipulated.)

They did the nomination ceremony earlier today and Haleigh and Scottie are both now officially on the block.  Scottie is handling it a better than Haleigh, which is interesting since Haleigh isn’t even the target this week.  When last I checked, Haleigh was in the HoH room, telling Kaycee that she’s on the verge of “going off” on Sam.  Haleigh, of couse, has been angry at Sam ever since Sam’s nomination speech way back during week 3.  Haleigh says that Sam keeps making little comments about her and the fact that she cheered for Tyler while Haleigh was fighting for life in the house was apparently the last straw.

So, I imagine that as soon as Haleigh gets her hands on a bottle of wine, we’ll have another fight in the Big Brother House.

We’ll see what happens!  Have a great and safe Labor Day weekend, everyone!
