Big Brother 20: Veto Results

by Lisa Marie Bowman on July 9, 2018

Hey y’all!

Well, let’s just make it official.  As I’m sure everyone knows, Tyler did use the veto earlier today.  He took Scottie off the block and Kaitlyn nominated Chris in his place.  The plan now is to get rid of Chris.

I remember that, when Kaitlyn first become HoH, she had a conversation with someone — maybe it was Tyler, I can’t remember for sure — where she said that it was “really difficult” to backdoor someone.  Of course, that’s not true.  Backdooring someone is probably one of the easiest things to do in the house.  That’s why it happens over and over again, every season.  That’s why even a complete ditz like Kaitlyn can pull it off.

Despite what a lot of people were expecting, Chris has not been throwing a fit over being nominated.  Bayleigh’s upset because she feels that targeting Chris is the same thing as targeting her but, to be honest, Bayleigh will probably be in a better position without Chris in the house.  Right now, the only reason that Bayleigh is seen as a threat is because she’s so close to Chris.  Without Chris around, Bayleigh suddenly becomes a lot less of a threat.

Chris is trying to campaign to stay.  He’s not just giving up.  Even though neither Haleigh nor Angie told him that he was going to be nominated, it appears that he knew that it was going to be a possibility.  So, instead of running around and talking about himself in the third person, he’s been trying to flip votes.  He’s been pointing out that Winston could potentially be a much bigger threat than he is.  It’s not a bad strategy, though it probably won’t work.  For now, Level 6 is looking pretty strong and united.  Things could change, of course.  Winston is often his own worst enemy when it comes to the other houseguests.

As for Kaitlyn, she’s been crying a lot.  She keeps telling everyone that her “intuition” told her that she had no choice but to nominate Chris.  (Her intuition, of course, is named Tyler and has really pretty hair.)   Faysal earlier whispered to Chris that he’s going to try to guilt Kaitlyn into switching targets.  Normally, I’d say that there’s no way that strategy would work but with Kaitlyn, who knows?

When last I checked, Chris was in the HoH room, talking to Kaitlyn and Tyler.  He seems to be trying to convince Tyler to flip, telling him that Level 6 will come after Tyler next.  Tyler, meanwhile, is trying to turn Chris against Haliegh and Angie by telling him that both of them knew about the plan.  As for Kaitlyn, she just told Chris that she would send him a check for $5,000 if he gets voted out on Thursday.  I’m not sure why.

It’s sure to be a dramatic week but right now, it looks like Chris is going to be leaving on Thursday.  If you want to watch the drama and you still don’t have the feeds, here’s the link for ordering them!  Remember, ordering feeds from this site helps Bill pay for this blog!

And, if you haven’t already joined, we’d love to see you at the Big Brother Blog facebook group!  It’s another place for our community to talk about Big Brother!

We’ll see what happens this week!

Big Brother 20: The Latest Power APP

by Lisa Marie Bowman on July 8, 2018

Hi y’all!

So, as was finally revealed last night, the power of veto was won by Tyler.  So, the plan right now is for Tyler to use the power to save Scottie and then Kaitlyn will nominate Chris as a replacement.  Kaitlyn ws doing a pretty good job of tricking everyone in her former alliance into thinking that her actual target was Angela but, as of today, she’s told Faysal and Haliegh that Chris is real target.  And Haleigh, of course, ran off and told Angie.

I guess Kaitlyn is trying to do some preemptive damage control but it’s all backfiring on her.  Even though she told Haleigh that she managed to get Winston and Brett to agree not to nominate Haleigh and Angie in return for Kaitlyn backdooring Chris, Haleigh and Angie are both furious about Kaitlyn’s plan.  (As well, Kaitlyn is lying about getting safety for either of them.)  Haleigh and Angie are both convinced that Tyler is the one pushing Kaitlyn to go after Chris and both of them are adamant that, if they win the next HoH, they’re coming after Tyler.

Speaking of Tyler, he did indeed win this week’s Power APP.  On tonight’s episode, we found out what exactly he got.  He selected The Cloud.  If he plays the app before a nomination or a veto ceremony, he will be safe during that ceremony.  It’s good for 8 weeks.  It sounds like a bigger deal than it actually is.  It’s only good for one time and it has to be played before the ceremony.

So, if Tyler is nominated, he can’t suddenly use the power to take himself off the block.  And if Tyler gets paranoid, he could actually waste the power by using it at a time when no one’s planning on nominating him.  It’s a bit like a Big Brother version of a Survivor immunity idol.  It has the ability to be helpful but you have to be careful how you play it.

One thing I’m not sure about is whether the immunity would cover the entire week or just that ceremony.  For instance, if Tyler played his power before a nomination ceremony, could he still be nominated as a replacement after the veto competition?  I’m not sure.

(Honestly, out of the choices that Tyler had, I probably would have picked either Upgrade or Redraw.  The Cloud had a nice graphic of a guy sitting on a cloud but really, it’s not as big a deal as it seems.)

As for the rest of the house, Kaitlyn is really enjoying be HoH.  She’s even walking around in her HoH robe.  She’s letting everyone know that she’s the most powerful person in the house, though she’s actually destroying her game.  Her old alliance wants nothing to do with her.  Meanwhile, Winston is mad that the plan is to veto Scottie instead of him.  (Kaitlyn thinks that using the veto on Winston will make it too obvious that she’s working with Level 6 to take out Chris.  But now that she’s told the other side of the house that she’s working with Level 6 to take out Chris, I’m not sure what she thinks she’s trying to hide.)  When Kaitlyn’s HoH reign finally ends, I imagine she’s going to be in for a rude awakening as far as her position in the house is concerned.

As always, we’ll see what happens!

Lisa Marie

P.S. Earlier today, Kaitlyn also demanded that Faysal apologize to her.  Apparently, she had a dream in which he was rude to her.

Big Brother 20: Waiting For The Feeds And The Veto Results

by Lisa Marie Bowman on July 7, 2018

Hi y’all!

So, I’m sitting here totally frustrated, waiting for the feeds to come back.  The feeds have been down for nearly five hours.  That probably means that they’re doing the veto comp.  Apparently, it’s superhot in California right now so you would think production would want to do a short veto but that does not appear to be the case.

So, with the feeds down for most of the day, here’s what I can tell you:

Scottie and Winston are the nominees.

The plan is to backdoor Swaggy, though Kaitlyn appears to have convinced Swaggy and his group that her target is actually Angela.

Faysal, Tyler, Rachel, Scottie, Winston, and Kaitlyn are playing in the veto comp.  Chris was furious because he did not get picked to play and he was also not picked to host.  Instead, Angie asked if she could host.  After they picked players, Chris went into a room by himself and told the cameras (and America) that Angie has no personality and that everyone in the house is trash.

We know that Rachel got the crap app but we don’t yet know who got the power app.  Most of the online speculation is that it was Tyler.  Kaitlyn thinks that Scottie has the app because her spirit guide told her that the letter “S” was somehow involved with power.  I’m not making that up.  Kaitlyn actually asked Scottie if he had won the power and, after he said no, she said her spirit guide was indicating that Scottie was lying.

We so know that Chris did not get the power app because, earlier today, he told Bayleigh how angry he was at America over not getting it.  “F**k America!” Chris said and, whether he was being totally serious or not, that’s probably not the best way to win over any viewers.

Anyway, that’s the situation for now.  If Faysal doesn’t win the POV, there’s a good chance that Swaggy will be going home.

We’ll see what happens!  Hopefully the feeds will come back soon!

Big Brother 20: Kaitlyn’s Plans

by Lisa Marie Bowman on July 6, 2018

Hi y’all!

So, I’m doing today’s update a little bit early.  Usually, on a Friday, I liked to hold off until the nominations have been officially made but I’ve got plans for tonight.  Fortunately, it sounds like Kaitlyn has decided upon her nominations.

Kaitlyn, of course, is HoH and she’s just made her first appearance on TMZ.  After Kaitlyn won HoH, Scottie told her that she had gone from “zero to 100.”  This was a reference to the fact that Kaitlyn was moving from the Have-Not room to the HoH room.

“Yeah,” Kaitlyn agreed, “I went from zero to 100 on a n****r.”

Now, technically, Kaitlyn was quoting O to 100/The Catch-Up, a song by Drake.  After Kaitlyn said the word, she went, “whoops” and then started singing the song under her breath.  Needless to say, twitter exploded as soon as she dropped the n-word and, for the third time this week, Big Brother was one of the top stories on TMZ.  Since production had earlier shut down the feeds so that they could tell the houseguests to watch what they say in the house, I can only imagine the panic in the control room after Kaitlyn said what she said.

(Speaking of which, production apparently also told JC to tone down the sex talk, which he did for a day or two.  Of course, it didn’t last and JC is once again back to being his typical pervy self.)

So, Kaitlyn is now HoH and she did the whole thing where she relaxed in her HoH room while each houseguest came by to kiss her ring.  With everyone now knowing that she was the one who flipped on Steve, Kaitlyn really doesn’t have an alliance.  The Swaggy group doesn’t like her and Level 6 doesn’t trust her.  Kaitlyn doesn’t seem to realize that, of course.

Anyway, from whatching Kaitlyn as HoH, it’s become apparent that she is one of the most paranoid houseguests in the history of Big Brother.  She’s convinced that everyone in the house has been talking about her behind her back.  When she met with Faysal, she spent the whole time claiming that Bayleigh has been plotting against her.  When she met with Sam, Kaitlyn made it a point to tell Sam that Sam wouldn’t be in the house if not for her vote.

Anyway, Kaitlyn has said that she wants to get Chris out of the house but her plan is to backdoor him.  So, it appears that she’s going to nominate Winston and Scottie for eviction and hopefully use to veto to put Chris on the block.  She’s also said that if Chris wins the veto than Scottie will be the target.  According to Kaitlyn, Scottie has never “talked game” with her and therefore, cannot be trusted.  For his part, Winston says he doesn’t mind being nominated because he’s sure that Sam would use her power to save him!  (I’m not sure where Winston got that idea.)

So, as of right now, it appears that our nominees will be Winston and Scottie, with Chris as the actual target.

We’ll see what happens!

Okay, so we just finished our first live eviction episode and it was a good one!

After spending most of the week as an apparent goner, Sam was saved tonight.  Level 6, as they had always planned to do, voted to evict Steve.   That, alone, would not have been enough to save Sam.  However, Tyler also managed to talk Kaitlyn into flipping and voting to evict Steve.  (Unfortunately, that also meant that he had to reveal to Level 6 and Kaitlyn that Sam won the power app.)  Before the vote, Tyler said that if he wore his hair down, that would be a signal for everyone in his alliance to vote for Steve.  He did wear his hair down and, by a vote of 7-6, Steve was evicted from the house.

Chris, Bayleigh, Haleigh, Angie, Scottie, and Faysal were all stunned!  In fact, Chris lost a good deal of his swagger when the results were announced.  You could tell from the expression on his face that he was trying to figure out who had flipped.  For all of his bragging, Chris didn’t seem to know quite how to handle a blindside.

After Steve was evicted, Kaitlyn clearly needed to win HoH.  After all, she doesn’t seem to be that good of a liar and it seems like only a matter of time until everyone knows that she’s the one who flipped.  Fortunately, for her, Kaitlyn managed to do just that.

That’s right — Kaitlyn is the 2nd HoH and what she’s going to do is anyone’s guess!

She could decided to stick with Tyler and Level 6 and nominate someone from Chris’s side of the house.  However, Kaitlyn doesn’t seem like she would really fit in with that group.

She could try to show that, despite flipping, she’s still loyal to Chris by targeting someone in Level 6.  Winston and Brett would seem to be the obvious targets, in that case.

Or, she could continue to stalk Faysal by nominating Haleigh and trying to get her number one romantic rival out of the house.

What will she do?  We’ll find out over the upcoming week!

Hi y’all!

So, we just watched the first veto episode of Big Brother and, as we all saw and probably already knew, Faysal did not use the veto.  Sam and Steve are still on the block.  And you know what that means…

IT’S TIME TO OPEN UP THE DIARY ROOM!

That’s right!  It’s time for you to let us know who you would evict if you were voting on Thursday night!

Would you vote for

SAM, the robot with the power

or

STEVE, the undercover cop with the sunglasses?

Either cast your vote in the poll over on the right side of the page or in the comments below!  Or come on over to the Big Brother Blog Facebook Page and let us know who you want to see evicted!

And then watch Thursday to see who will be the first voted out and whether or not Sam will have to use her power!  If you don’t have the feeds and you want to watch the fallout of the vote live, here’s the link to get them!  Remember, getting the feeds from this blog helps Bill to pay for this site!

Happy voting!

Big Brother 20: Let’s Count The Votes

by Lisa Marie Bowman on July 3, 2018

Hi, y’all!

So, in just two days, we’ll be witnessing the first eviction of BB20.  Right now, the two nominees are Steve and Sam.  As I said before, Steve and Sam have mostly been nominated because neither one of them really fits in with either of the two big alliances in the house.  Steve is older and, as a homicide detective, doesn’t really have much in common with the other houseguests.  Meanwhile, Sam has been stuck in robot form and has spent the majority of the week telling everyone how much it sucks to be a robot.

(Personally, I think Sam has a right to complain but quite a few of the houseguests — like Kaitlyn — have been getting annoyed with her.)

Steve is pretty confident that he has the votes necessary to stay.  In fact, he’s been relaxing and laying low and letting everyone know how much he appreciates them for not voting him out.  Sam, meanwhile, is convinced that she’s going to be voted out but she also has the power that will the give her a chance to reeneter the house.

The truth is a bit more complicated.

For the most part, Sam is being targeted by Chris’s alliance.  As of right now, Chris, Bayleigh, Haleigh, Angie, Faysal, and Kaitlin appear to be planning on voting out Sam.  Even though he’s not really a member of any alliance, Scottie is close to Steve and he will undoubtedly vote to evict Sam as well.

Then you have Winston’s alliance.  Though they’ve done a pretty good job of keeping the word from getting out, they are determined to get Steve out of the house.  So, Winston, Brett, Angela, JC, Kaycee, and Rachel are all planning on voting out Steve and then trying to pull Scottie over to their side of the house.  Tyler has also come around to wanting Steve out but, as HoH, he doesn’t get a vote.

So, that breaks down to a 7-6 vote to evict Sam.

HOWEVER — and this is where it gets interesting — both Angie and Haleigh have been discussing maybe voting to evict Steve.  They’re apparently convinced that almost everyone is voting to evict Sam so they feel that if they cast two votes for Steve, they can then trick people into thinking those votes were cast by Winston and Brett.  What they don’t seem to get is that Winston and Brett are both already planning on voting to evict Steve.  So, if Haleigh and Angie actually go through with their plan, Steve would be evicted on an 9-4 vote.

And then there’s Kaitlyn.  Kaitlyn has been a loyal member of Chris’s alliance, largely because she likes Faysal.  However, Faysal seems to be more into Haleigh than he is into Kaitlyn and Kaitlyn is not happy about this.  So, Winston and Brett are thinking that they might be able to get Kaitlyn to flip.  Of course, the problem with this plan is that Kaitlyn is still mad at Sam because Sam said that, if Kaitlyn was a robot, she wouldn’t be able to spend all of her time in the hot tub with Faysal.

Got all that?  If it sounds confusing, don’t worry.  I typed all of that up and I’m still struggling to keep it all straight.  As of right now, it seems like anything could happen on Thursday!

Big Brother 20: Short and Sinister

by Lisa Marie Bowman on July 2, 2018

Hi y’all!

So, after last season, there really wasn’t any question about whether or not TMZ would eventually end up writing an article about bad behavior in the house.  It was just a question of who would be the first HG to be written about.  Some of people thought that it would be Chris and his high opinion of himself.  Some thought it would be about Kaycee and her insistence that Chris is actually gay.  Some thought it would be Sam and her anger over having to be a robot.  Some thought it would be about the Kaitlin-Haleigh-Faysal love triangle.

However, all of those people were wrong.

If you thought JC would be the first one to get written up, congratulations!  You were absolutely correct!

It’s not really a surprise.  Though the CBS hasn’t mentioned it and JC hasn’t really talked about it in the house, it only takes one quick google search to discover that JC’s previous claim to fame was appearing in amateur porn.  Apparently, JC was recruited for the show, on the suggestion of his good friend Jozea.  You may remember Jozea as the self-described “Big Brother Messiah” from Big Brother 18.

Anyway, the show has been going out of its way to portray JC as being quirky and cute but, if you’ve got the live feeds, you’ve seen a totally different JC.  From the moment that the feeds went live, JC’s behavior has been more than a little problematic.  From pressuring the women to flash both him and the cameras to trying to grab Tyler’s private parts, JC has been behaving in ways that have made some viewers wish Sam would take her little robot and run him over.  Lately, JC has become obsessed with chasing after people with an ice cream scoop.  Apparently, he was called to the diary room earlier today and I’m seeing a lot of speculation that production may have told him to tone it down.  We’ll see if that happens.

As for the other big drama in the house — well, Kaitlyn’s upset.  She told Chris that she’s upset about Faysal spending so much time with Haleigh when he apparently should be spending that time in the hot tub with her.  Chris, of course, told Haleigh about it and Haleigh’s is now upset at Kaitlyn for being upset with her.  Haleigh says she can’t understand why Kaitlyn’s upset which I don’t buy for a second.  Haleigh knows exactly why Kaitlyn’s upset.  If anyone seems to be clueless about the whole situation, it’s Faysal.  (Then again, I get the feeling that Faysal may not be the smartest person to ever enter the house.)

There are two alliances right now.  There’s Level 6, with Winston, Brett, Kaycee, Angela, Rachel, and maybe Tyler.  (It’s hard to know where Tyler’s head is at.  He’s very good at playing both sides of the house.)  Then there’s the other alliance, the one with the stupid name.  That’s Haleigh, Kaitlyn, Chris, Bayleigh, Faysal, and Angie.  Both alliances are currently led by two self-styled, extremely cocky alpha males. Chris and Winston.  And both alliances are probably going to self-destruct in another week or so.  It’s just a question of which is going to go first.  The current Haliegh/Faysal/Kaitlyn triangle leads me to suspect that their alliance will be the first to go.

But, honestly, both Winston and Chris are alienating almost everyone in the house.  They’re both way too cocky and full of themselves.  So, right now, I would say that shouldn’t expect any of these current alliances to last.  As opposed to last season, when everyone just wanted to work with Paul, it seems like almost every alliance could fall apart and realign at almost any minute.  Two weeks in and Big Brother 20 really does feel like it could be anyone’s game.

Big Brother 20: Sam Has The Power

by Lisa Marie Bowman on July 1, 2018

Hi y’all!

So, you probably already know all of this if you’ve been reading the comments below the previous post or if you’ve been checking in with the Big Brother Blog Facebook Page but let’s just make it official:

They had the veto meeting earlier today.  Faysal did not use the power of veto.  Sam and Steve are still on the block and everyone appears to be planning on voting out Sam.  That could change, of course.  Neither Sam nor Steve are really fitting in with the other HGs.  Sam’s been stuck in robot form and Steve just doesn’t seem to have much in common with the other HGs, other than maybe Scottie.  (Scottie and Steve are both are into movies.)  So, it looks like the plan is to vote out Sam…

However, the joke is on them!  As we saw on tonight’s episode, Sam received the Power App!  Even if everyone in the house votes for her, Sam is not going to leave the game.  Basically, for the first three weeks, Sam has the power to bring back any evicted houseguest.  If she doesn’t use the power within the first three weeks then whoever is voted out during the fourth week will automatically return.

So, basically, one of the first four evicted houseguests will turn around and immediately reeneter the house.  It’s just up to Sam to determine who.  And right now, it definitely looks like it will be her.

Otherwise, tonight’s episode was mostly filler.  We got to see the start of Chris’s showmance with Bayleigh and we also saw how Winston, Brett, and Scottie all become have nots (they volunteered).  This season’s Have Not room doesn’t look that bad and, on the live feeds, Winston and Brett have been talking about how easy it is to sleep in there.  (That’s fine by me.  I’ve never really been a huge fan of the whole Have Not thing.)  We won’t be seeing the veto competition until Wednesday and then the first eviction will be on Thursday.

Earlier today, there was some fun on the live feeds when Faysal couldn’t find the veto necklace.  He’s been wearing it nonstop ever since he won it and last night, Kaitlyn hid it from him.  When Faysal woke up and couldn’t find it, he went into total panic mode.  He was convinced that the veto had been stolen by “America’s player” or a saboteur.  He even wondered if he could still use the veto power if he didn’t have the necklace.  The producers apparently took some sympathy on him because, after Kaitlyn was called to the diary room, the veto was returned to Faysal.

That’s it for now!  I can’t wait to see the veto comp on Wednesday because, supposedly, it was intense!  And, with everyone apparently planning on voting to evict Sam, I can’t wait to see their faces when she turns around and reeneters the house.

We’ll see what happens!

Big Brother 20: Putting The Bro In Big Brother

by Lisa Marie Bowman on June 30, 2018

Hi y’all!

So, yesterday, they finally did the veto competition.  From what we’ve heard on the feeds, it sounds like it was an intense competition, one that involved electrical shocks, getting sprayed down, and getting extremely dirty.  Faysal won the veto and, ever since, he’s been walking around the house with the veto hanging around his neck.  In fact, he actually slept with the veto.  When he woke up in the morning, he asked JC if he should keep wearing the veto.  JC said, “No,” so Faysal briefly took the veto off.  But, when last I checked, he was wearing it again.

Faysal doesn’t seem to understand that bragging about the veto and constantly wearing it is going to put a target on his back.  In fact, Faysal was just telling Chris that he thinks it’s important to show everyone that he can win any competition.  Apparently, Faysal thinks that will make him safe.  Of course, anyone who has actually seen Big Brother knows how wrong Faysal is.

(I get the feeling that Faysal may not be the smartest houseguest in the history of Big Brother.)

I have to say that, so far, the live feeds have really put the bro in Big Brother.  On one side of the house, you’ve got Chris and Faysal, who are both extremely cocky and convinced that they’re not only going to win every HoH and veto but who also believe that they’re going to be on the Amazing Race after this season ends.  Faysal is upset that Haleigh has been flirting with Tyler.  Chris says he would never let Bayleigh get away with that.  On the other side of the house, you’ve got Winston and Brett who are … well, basically, they’re just like Chris and Faysal.

And, of course, then there’s Tyler.  Tyler is sitting in the HoH room and is still doing a good job of playing both alliances.  Tyler likes to talk to the camera and he says that he doesn’t trust any of the people who are currently claiming to be his best friend.  He says that he understand that they’re only sucking up to him because he’s HoH.  Tyler’s not as dumb as he pretends, though he does seem to be getting a bit too cocky for his own good.

(In fact, cockiness has been an overriding theme of this season, so far.  It’s going to be fun to watch some of these people get blindsided.)

As for what’s going to happen with veto, Faysal has told everyone that he’s not planning on using it.  For some reason, the plan seems to be to vote out Sam.  It’s not so much that anyone in the house feels close to Steve as much as it’s just that no one has gotten a chance to bond with Sam.  She’s been stuck in robot form.

However, it would appear that Sam has won an advantage that will save her.  Though we don’t know for sure what it is, it would appear that she can use it to take herself off the block.  Is it a power to reset the week (which would keep Steve safe, as well) or does it just save her?  Apparently, whatever it is, it’s good for four weeks.  Hopefully, things will become clearer with Sunday’s episode.

Anyway, I’m currently waiting for the veto ceremony.  It’ll either be today or tomorrow.  As of right now, it appears that the nominations will be remaining the same.
