Big Brother Over The Top: I’m Back!

by Lisa Marie Bowman on October 16, 2016

Hi, everyone!

I’m back from vacation but I’m still in the process of getting caught up with what’s happening in the Big Brother House.  But I did want to post a quick update (and give everyone a new page to comment under).  So, here’s where thing stand right now:

Scott is the HoH.  Scott also won America’s Care Package, which gave him the power to decide what type of veto the HGs would compete for this week.  He picked the Double Veto, which means that two vetos will be rewarded this week.

The Have Nots, also picked by America: Danielle, Shelby, and Alex.  It’s significant that Danielle was selected because it shows that even Jason’s fanbase is starting to turn against her.  If you’ve seen the live feeds, you know why.  Danielle is totally and completely self-centered and rude.  Plus, she made the mistake of saying that she needed America’s help after she lost the HoH.  Judging from twitter, a lot of viewers felt that Danielle was expecting them to do all of the “work.”

Scott’s plan this week is to get out either Shane or Danielle.  But, instead of nominating them, he nominated two pawns.  Kryssie and Neely have been nominated for eviction but Scott’s plan is to use the double veto to backdoor Shane.

Right now, America is voting for the third nominee.  On twitter, a lot of Jason’s fans are basically either begging or bullying people to vote for Morgan.  But a lot of people have been saying that they’re going to vote for Danielle.  We’ll find out the identity of the third nominee tomorrow.  I kinda hope it’s Danielle because she will absolutely freak out and it should make for good drama!

That’s for now!  I’m happy to be back!

Big Brother Over The Top: Patience…

by Lisa Marie Bowman on October 13, 2016

Hi, everyone!

Sorry, this is going to be another quick post.  I’ll be back from vacation next week but until then, I just wanted to give y’all a new post to comment under and also a quick update for anyone who might not be reading the comments:

Last night: Monte was evicted from the house.  Shane, Justin, Jason, and Neely voted for Monte.  Morgan, Shelby, Whitney, and Scott voted for Danielle.  The majority of viewers voted for Monte and Monte was evicted on a 5-4 vote.

Here’s the thing that bothers me about that:

If they’re going to give the viewers as much power as they’ve given them on Big Brother Over The Top, they should have made this an all-star season.  That would have kept things fair.  Instead, we have Jason coming into the house with a huge fan base.  Naturally, every vote is going to benefit Jason in some way.  It’s going to make the game very boring.  It’s a bit like when they let Elissa into the house and all of Rachel’s fans immediately started voting to give her every reward possible.

(A lot of people said this on twitter last night and all of Jason’s fans basically threw a huge hissy fit.)

What particularly frustrates me is that Jason and his alliance are incapable of winning anything on their own.  Instead, they need Jason’s little fan base to carry them through the game.  Last night, after getting rid of Monte, they again failed to win HoH.  Instead, Scott won HoH.

(Good for him, considering the way he was bullied this week!)

Danielle immediately announced that she needed America’s help.  Honestly, Danielle?  Help yourself!

Anyway, it looks like Scott is probably going to nominate Shane and Danielle for eviction … again!  Meanwhile, Jason — who has the most fans and, therefore, is the biggest threat to win the game — will get another free week.

Hopefully, something will change soon because this is getting boring,

Big Brother Over The Top: The Diary Room Is Now Open!

by Lisa Marie Bowman on October 11, 2016

Hi, everyone!

Just a quick recap:

Alex is HoH.

She nominated Danielle and Shane for eviction.

The viewers voted and Monte was named as the third nominee.

Shane won the veto.

Shane used the veto on himself.  Though Alex had originally named Justin as her backup, she instead nominated Kryssie.  She believes that she can talk Justin into voting to evict Danielle.

So, it is now time to … OPEN UP THE DIARY ROOM!

Do you vote to evict…

DANIELLE, the vain preschool teacher who is not as likable as she thinks she is

MONTE, who is also not as likable as he thinks he is

or

KRYSSIE, who is even more unlikable than she thinks she is!?

Cast your vote in the poll over on the right side of the page or in the comments below!  If you have a CBS all access account, you can also cast up to 2o votes for who you want to see evicted.  Whoever gets the most votes from “America,” will get one vote cast against him or her on Wednesday.  With the house pretty evenly divided, that one vote could make all the difference.

Jason’s fan — who so far have been dominating the OTT discussion on twitter — seem to be pretty united in voting for Monte.  But, at the same time, I’ve seen a lot of people starting to talk about how much they dislike Danielle.

So, we’ll see!

Lisa Marie

P.S. I voted for Kryssie.

Big Brother Over The Top: Just To Make It Official…

by Lisa Marie Bowman on October 10, 2016

…Danielle and Shane are the nominees!

That’s not really a surprise, we all knew that was who Alex was targeting.  The only question now is who will be joining them as the third nominee.  America is currently voting!

I assumed that all of Jason’s fans would be voting for Monte but I just checked on twitter and, while I saw a lot of anti-Monte sentiment, I also saw a lot of people saying that they were going to vote for Scott.  They consider Scott to be a rat who is trying to play both sides of the house and apparently, he said some nasty things about the viewers after they voted to make him a have not.

Quite surprisingly, I’m also seeing a lot of people voting for Kryssie.  Apparently, a lot of Zakiyah fans want Kryssie to be nominated because that will keep Kryssie from voting to keep Danielle in the house.  Apparently, Zakiyah’s fans do not like Danielle.

As we’ve talked about in the comments, the viewers are really getting into the voting.  I guess they might as well, seeing as how they’re having to pay money to watch the show.  But, honestly, a lot of the viewers aren’t as smart as they think they are and eventually, I think all this voting is going to backfire.  Remember when all of Rachel’s fan accidentally nominated Elissa for eviction during Big Brother 15?

One final thing — Kryssie gave Jason immunity but, oddly enough, you can still vote to make Jason the third nominee.  I was pretty sure Jason was guaranteed to be safe this week so someone involved in the production screwed up.  Well, regardless, I went ahead and cast 20 votes for Jason, just because I wanted to make things weird inside the house.

Seriously — if Big Brother is going to give the viewers all this power, they shouldn’t force a bunch of newbies to play with a veteran.  Of course, the veteran is going to win every vote!  He’s starting out with a fanbase.  It’s not exactly fair and it gets kind of boring after a while.

Anyway that’s it for now.  Veto comp is tomorrow!

Big Brother Over The Top: Just A Few Quick Updates

by Lisa Marie Bowman on October 8, 2016

Hi, everyone!

I just wanted to post a few quick updates.  Once again, I have to say thank you to our commenters, who are all doing a good job of keeping everyone updated while I’m on vacation!  Y’all are the best!

Okay, America’s Care Package went to Kryssie.  I believe this means that Kryssie cannot win another care package.  She’s really thrilled to have won this one, though, from what I’ve read on twitter, it appears that Jason’s fans decided to give her this care package because they felt that 1) Kryssie would use it to protect Jason and 2) they want Jason to be eligible for a later care package.  Jason’s fans are thinking strategically!

The care package gave Kryssie the power to declare one houseguest to be safe for the week.  To no one’s surprise, she selected Jason.  Danielle begged Kryssie to use it on her because she is convinced that she and Shane are going to be nominated this week.

And Danielle’s right!  When last I checked, Alex was planning on nominating Danielle and Shane, with Justin as a renom in case the veto was used.  However, things are pretty tense with Justin right now.  Justin hates Monte and both Danielle and Kryssie have been going out of their way to stoke that hatred, to the extent that Justin and Monte even had a little shouting match earlier today.

(Justin feels that Monte is a racist.  Monte feels that Justin is a perv.  Monte earlier made a joke about Justin stealing his clothes and that joke got back to Justin.  Justin and Monte’s fight ended with the two of them making up but I doubt it’s going to last.)

Along with giving Kryssie the care package, America also selected the Have Nots for the week.  Monte, Morgan, and Scott received the majority of votes.  Monte and Morgan handled it well.  Scott went into one of the bedrooms and started sobbing.

Finally, we had the first part of the Safety Ceremony tonight.  Since Jason was already safe, Alex only had to pick four more players.  She conferred safety on: Kryssie, Whitney, Neely, and Morgan.  The second part of the ceremony will be tomorrow and I imagine that Shane and Danielle will be nominated.

Big Brother Over The Top: And Your New HoH Is…

by Lisa Marie Bowman on October 6, 2016

Hi, y’all!

This’ll be another quick update but I did want to make it “official,” as it were:

The new HoH is Alex!  The HoH comp lasted for three hours last night and, in the end, it came down to Alex vs. Neely.  In the end, Alex kept her crown up the longest and she is the one who now has the power.

Now I could be wrong about this and if I am, please correct me.  I’m on vacation so, even though I’ve been checking on the feeds, I haven’t been sitting in front of them for hours, either.  But, as of right now, I think Alex and Morgan have yet to tell anyone that they’re sisters.  If I’m wrong, please let me know in the comments and I’ll post a correction.  I know that a lot of the houseguests — especially Jason and Justin — have been mentioning just how much Morgan and Alex look alike but, as of yet, no one officially knows.

But anyway, Alex and Morgan did spend some time talking in the HoH room about who Alex should nominate.  Jason is convinced that he’s going to be nominated, apparently because it’s impossible for Jason to imagine a world where he’s not the center of attention.  (Seriously, I am so over Jason.  I’m kind of understanding why he got on everyone’s nerves during Big Brother 17.)  However, from what I heard, it sounds like Alex and Morgan want to get rid of Shane!  They think they can work with Monte but not Shane!

(Part of that might be because Monte is a lot dumber than Shane.)

So, the plan seems to be to nominate Shane and Danielle for eviction.  If that plan goes through, I’m sure we can look forward to another Danielle hissy fit.

Finally, this week’s care package is a big one.  Whoever America votes to give this care package will have the power to make one of the HGs safe from eviction this week.  I checked in on twitter and it seems like there’s a big movement to give the care package to Kryssie so she can make Jason safe.

(Kryssie seems to have a lot of fans, which is weird because she is seriously one of the most boring people in the house.  There’s a difference between acting quirky and genuinely being quirky.)

That’s it for now!

Big Brother Over The Top: Tonight’s Results

by Lisa Marie Bowman on October 6, 2016

Hi everyone,

I was hoping that the HoH comp would be over with before I posted the results of tonight’s votes but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen.  So, I’ll just give a quick recap of the night so far:

They had the live eviction vote tonight.  Julie Chen had absolutely nothing to do with it.  Instead, Monte read all of the stuff that Julie usually says.  It was kind of strange to watch everyone vote without any music or commercials or anything like that.  For the first time, we truly got to see just how awkward eviction night can be.

Anyway, up until yesterday, it looked like Kryssie was going home but Danielle managed to flip the vote and convinced everyone to vote out Cornbread instead.  Basically, Cornbread was a victim of both Monte’s arrogance (the only way to strike at Monte was to take out his biggest ally in the house) and his own social awkwardness.

The final vote was 9-1.  Nobody voted for Kryssie.  Alex voted for Danielle, specifically to try to make the other HGs paranoid and to stir up trouble.  And everyone else voted for Cornbread.  When Monte read the results, Cornbread’s face to turned red, he refused to hug anyone, and cursed at everyone as he went out the front door.

WAY TO KEEP IT CLASSY, CORNBREAD!

Anyway, the HoH competition is an endurance comp.  Each HGs is standing on a platform and using a wobbly “sword” to hold up a crown.  If they crown falls, the HG is out of the comp.  It’s been going on for about 90 minutes right now and there are currently 4 HGs left in the running: Justin, Whitney, Neely, and Alex.

Right now, Whitney and Neely are looking the strongest.  It looks like this could go on for another few hours so I’m going to go ahead and post this and hopefully, someone will post the eventual winner in the comments!

Big Brother Over The Top: The Diary Room is Now Open!

by Lisa Marie Bowman on October 4, 2016

So, that means that it is now time to open up the Diary Room!

Who do you want to see evicted tomorrow night?

Do you vote to evict…

CORNBREAD, the talkative redneck who snores like a freight train

DANIELLE, the talkative preschool teacher

or

KRYSSIE, the talkative viral video star!?

Let us know!  Cast your vote in the comments or in the poll over on the right side of the page!  And then watch the live feeds tomorrow night to see who is the first to evicted form Big Brother Over The Top!

Happy voting!

Big Brother Over The Top: Veto Results

by Lisa Marie Bowman on October 3, 2016

Hi, everyone!

Just a quick update.  In case you didn’t read it in the comments under the previous post, the veto ceremony was today and Jason won!  So, Jason now has the veto and tomorrow, he will be taking himself off the block.  It doesn’t appear that Monte actually considered the possibility that Jason could win the veto because he certainly did seem shocked.  As of right now, it appears that he’ll be nominated Kryssie to take his place.

And there’s also a third nominee!  Last night, the HGs learned that “America” (or, at the very least, the Americans who have paid money to watch the show) would be voting on who to name as the third nominee.  Before the veto ceremony, it was revealed that America’s choice was … CORNBREAD!

Now, really, it seems like Cornbread should be safe.  Almost all of the other girls in the house hate Danielle (who they consider to be stand-offish and untrustworthy, though I think it has more to do with jealousy than anything else) so it would seem like Danielle’s days are numbered.

EXCEPT…

You have to keep in mind that the viewers will be selecting the final winner.  So, the HGs have a good reason to try to keep the viewers happy.  If Monte was smart, he would be worried about the fact that the viewers just nominated one of his closest allies and he might think that the best way to get back into America’s good graces would be to vote out the HG nominated by the viewers.

But Monte’s not that smart.  Monte thinks he’s smart but he’s definitely not.  He’s been strutting around the house and sneering and talking about how brilliant he is.  Little does he realize that he’s managed to alienate everyone else in the house.

My prediction: Danielle goes on Wednesday.  Monte goes next week.

We’ll see what happens!

Big Brother Over The Top: Week One Nominations!

by Lisa Marie Bowman on October 2, 2016

Hi, everyone!

Well, it took forever but they finally finished up the two day nomination ceremony!  Basically, all of the HGs have been given a safety block that they have hanging on a lanyard around their neck.  In the HoH room, Monte has everyone picture on a wall.  If he pushes someone’s picture, that causes the block to turn green and that means that HG is safe.  On Saturday, five people found out they were safe.  On Sunday, five more people found out that they were safe.  And that left the final two as the nominees.

Does that seem unnecessarily complicated to anyone?  It does to me.  I kinda liked the two day long HoH comp but stretching the nomination ceremony to two days is just silly.  As well, this creates a ceremony where Monte doesn’t have to face people when he nominates them.  Tonight, he was up in the HoH room smirking and pushing buttons while everyone else was down in the kitchen.  It lacked the drama of the key ceremony.

ANYWAY, Monte nominated Jason and Danielle.  He was going to nominate Kryssie but he changed his mind at the last minute.  Jason is definitely his target.  After the final button had been pushed, Monte came downstairs and stumbled through his nomination speech.  He was pretty incoherent.

Danielle is mad.  Jason, on the other hand, is actually taking it pretty well.  In fact, the only thing that Jason seems to be upset about is that he doesn’t feel Danielle deserved to be nominated.

Now, there’s going to be a third nominee as well.  I don’t think the HGs know this yet.  The viewers will be selecting this nominee.  On twitter, a lot of Jason’s fans are talking about nominating Cornbread.  Me, I’ll probably vote to nominate Shane because Shane has been Monte’s strongest ally.

As you may have guessed, I’m not a fan of Monte’s.  He’s like a less handsome version of Paulie.
