Big Brother Over The Top: The Reign of Monte

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 30, 2016

Hi, everyone!

Before I get to anything else, I want to answer a question that The Mortgage Doctor asked me in the comments under the previous post.  He asked me if I liked the format of Big Brother Over The Top and whether or not I thought this format would ever be used again.

It’s a good question and I don’t have a definite answer yet.  There are a few things that I do like about Big Brother Over The Top and there’s a few things that I dislike.  It’s way too early to say anything for sure but he’s just a few of my thoughts:

Here’s what I do like about Big Brother Over The Top:

I like the cast.  To be honest, I think it’s shame that this cast was not used for Big Brother 18.  Everyone on Big Brother Over The Top seems like they could potentially win.  They all seem like they could turn out to be good players.  There’s no one like Bronte, Bridgette, or Glenn.

I like that there’s only one returning player.  To be honest, I would prefer no returning players but Big Brother tends to use former houseguests as an insurance policy.  (If the new HGs turn out to be duds, production can count on the vets to cause some drama.)  But the problem is that whenever a group of veterans are sent into the house, they immediately form their own little alliance and they end up running the house.  It gets boring.  In Big Brother Over The Top, Jason is the only returning player.  And, since he didn’t do very well the first time he played the game, he’s not entering the house with any sort of built-in advantage.

I like that, every night, a recap of the day’s activities is posted.  This is good because I’m not going to have time to watch the live feeds 24/7.

Here’s what I do not like about Big Brother Over The Top:

IT’S NOT ON TV!  That’s actually my only real problem with Big Brother Over The Top.  I don’t mind paying for the feeds.  I already subscribe to CBS All Access so it’s not an unexpected cost for me.  But I do understand why a lot of people aren’t happy about the idea of having to pay to watch the latest season of Big Brother.

As for whether or not the format will last — well, it depends on whether or not CBS makes money off of Big Brother Over The Top.  Big Brother is a cheap show to produce and apparently, they’re spending even less money on Over The Top as they do on the CBS show.  I get the feeling that there will be future online seasons of Big Brother but, fortunately, Big Brother will continue to air in the summer as well.

As for what’s happening in the house right now…

To be honest, I haven’t had many opportunities to watch the live feeds over the past day, though I have made sure to check in a few times.  Here’s what I can tell you.

As Margie P pointed out in the comments below, Jason figured out pretty quickly that Morgan and Alex are sisters.  All he had to do was look at the memory wall.  (Morgan and Alex might as well be twins.)  He’s been telling everyone in the house that Morgan and Alex are probably related but nobody is really listening to him.  If anything, everyone in the house seems to be kind of annoyed with Jason.  And, as much as I like him, Jason can be kind of annoying.  He talks constantly and seems to be kind of annoyed that the other HGs aren’t more interested in hearing stories about Big Brother 17.

Shane and Monte bromance is going strong.  In fact, it’s so strong that they are currently the strongest duo in the house.  I don’t think that’ll last, however.  Monte is way too full of himself.  He reminds me a bit of Paulie.

Shane, Monte, Cornbread, and Scott formed an alliance during the first night.  At first, Monte and Shane both seemed convinced that they needed to get the girls out of the house, largely because the girls outnumber the guys.  However, it now appears that Monte’s new target is Jason.  Since America is going to be voting on rewards and punishments, Monte feels that Jason has to go early because Jason probably already has a strong fanbase.  As much as I hate to admit it, Monte’s absolutely correct.

Monte is also the current Head of Household!  I actually liked the way that they did the first HoH comp.  The houseguests entered the house and discovered a bottle of blue liquid and a sign that said that only one houseguest could drink it.  Shane volunteered to drink it.  He was then called to the diary room.

When Shane returned, he explained that he was now “infected” and could not be HoH that week.  However, it was explained that Shane also had to power to choose who to infect next and then that person would infect someone else until the eventually the only uninfected HG would be the new HoH.  It was like a game of tag.  Since the infected HG could only pass on the infection when production set off an alarm, the HoH comp lasted for 24 hours.

And it went something like this…

Shane infected Danielle.

Danielle infected Justin.

Justin infected Shelby.

Shelby infected Scott.

Scott infected Neely.

Neely infected Kryssie after Kryssie volunteered to be the next player eliminated.

Kyrissie infected Morgan.

Morgan infected Cornbread after he told her that he would infect Jason next.

Cornbread infected Jason, which led to Jason saying, “Don’t worry, I’m coming after you, too.”  Jason now says that he wants Cornbread out but I don’t think Jason’s going to be around long enough to do so.

Jason infected Whitney, because he felt that if Whitney became HoH, she would let Monte run her HoH.  For some reason, Jason also though that Whitney might chose to infect Monte so that Alex could become HoH.

Whitney, however, infected Alex.

And that left Monte as HoH!  Monte says that he’s planning on targeting Jason.  Apparently, he wants Jason, Kryssie, and Neely out.  I can understand wanting to get rid of Kryssie because she’s loud and kind of annoying but I don’t know what Neely did to get on his nerves.

As for whether or not there will be an All-Girl’s Alliance this season — don’t count on it.  The girls seem to be obsessed with voting each other out of the house.  Almost all of them seem to want to get Danielle out of the house.

Finally, the way they’re doing the nominations is a little bit different on Over The Top.  Instead of a nomination ceremony, they will be having a series of Safety Ceremonies, at which time the HoH will tell two HGs that they are safe.  They’ll keep doing this until Sunday night, at which point the two HGs who haven’t been “saved’ will become the nominees.  Apparently, America will be selecting a third nominee but I don’t think that the HGs know that just yet.

We’ll see what happens!

Lisa Marie

(By the way, I’m going to be on vacation for the next two weeks.  I’ll still be doing quick updates, though.)

Big Brother Over The Top: First Impressions!

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 29, 2016

Hi y’all!

So, I did get to see the first three hours of Big Brother Over The Top on Wednesday night so I’m going to just share a few first impressions of the houseguests and the show itself.

However, before I do anything else, here’s the Big Brother Over The Top Weekly Schedule:

Big Brother: Over The Top Weekly Schedule –

  • Sunday, 10PM EST: Final Weekly Safety Ceremony / Nomination Reveal
  • Monday, 4PM EST: Veto Competition
  • Monday, 10PM EST: Weekday Replay
  • Tuesday, 4PM EST: Veto Meeting
  • Tuesday 10PM EST: Weekday Replay
  • Tuesday 10:30PM EST: Live Diary Room Sessions
  • Wednesday 10PM EST: Weekly Full Episode
  • Wednesday 11PM EST: Live Eviction
  • Wednesday 12AM EST: HOH Competition
  • Thursday, TBD: Julie hosts a live Q&A with the houseguests
  • Thursday, TBD: Julie interviews the evicted houseguest
  • Thursday, 10PM EST: Weekday Replay
  • Friday, 10PM EST: Weekday Replay
  • Friday, 10:30PM EST: Live Diary Room Sessions
  • Saturday, 4PM EST: Have-Not Reveal
  • Saturday, 10PM EST: Safety Ceremony

As for my first impression of the show — well, it was interesting.  For the first time, the feeds started as soon as the first houseguest entered the house.  The 13 HGs entered one at a time, at 15 minute intervals, and it was kind of fun getting to see them meeting each other for the first time and exploring the house.  At the same time, it also seemed to take forever before all 13 of the HGs were actually inside the house.

We learned that the Over The Top houseguests have been in sequester for the past two weeks so they don’t know who won Big Brother 18.  The majority of them seemed to be rooting for Paul.

After all the houseguests had entered the house, a pre-taped film of Julie Chen showed up on the big living room screen and informed that 1) all of the competitions will be live and 2) there will be no jury house.  Instead, we the viewers will be voting for the final winner of Big Brother Over The Top.

So far, it’s look like production actually did a pretty good job as far as casting is concerned.  As a lot of people on twitter immediately pointed out, almost everyone in the house is from the South.  Personally, I’m totally okay with that, because I’m from Texas and I have family all over the South.  When I listen to all the accents in the house, I feel like I’m at a Bowman-Meehan-Marchi family reunion.  I know that some people up north were complaining about all the accents but you know what?  I had to spend an entire summer listening to Nicole, Paul, and Meech so it’s hard for me to have much sympathy for people who can’t handle 10 weeks of listening to the way people talk in my part of the world.

As for the individual houseguests, here are my thoughts:

The first HG to enter the house was Scott.  Scott is a 24 year-old virgin from Bangor, Maine.  He makes his living as a debt collector.  He’s one of those people who spends his day calling people and asking them why they haven’t been paying their credit card.  Scott is so socially awkward that he was painful to watch.  Personally, I found him to be kind of creepy.

The second HG to enter the house was Morgan.  Morgan is from Austin, Texas.  She’s 22 years old, she’s blonde, and she was a cheerleader in college.  When it was just her and Scott in the house, things were kind of awkward and the way Scott kept staring at her was really icky.  Fortunately, they were soon joined by…

SHANE!  Shane is third HG to enter the house.  He has a beard and he looks like a less muscular and better looking (and, hopefully, better-behaved) version of Austin from season 17.  Shane is a roofer from North Carolina.  When he first entered the house, Morgan seemed really happy to see him.  Could this be a showmance in the making or was Morgan just happy to have someone other than Scott to talk to?

The fourth HG to enter the house was Neely!  Neely is 33 and is from Ft. Worth, Texas.  I liked Neely as soon as she entered the house and it seems like she might have a good social game (she works in sales so she should). Neely is lying about her age, the better to fit in with the other HGs.

The fifth HG was Shelby!  At first, I didn’t like Shelby because, whenever she spoke, she sounded a lot like Liz Nolan and I started to have flashbacks to Big Brother 17.  However, Shelby won me over.  She seems to be one of the smarter people in the house so we’ll see how that pays off for her. Shelby is 24 year-old law school graduate from California.

The sixth HG was Cornbread!  Cornbread is 41 years old and he’s from Georgia.  I really didn’t think that I’d care much for Cornbread but, so far, he’s actually been pretty likable.  He’s a redneck but he also seems like a genuinely nice guy.  He’s the oldest guy in the house but I don’t think he’ll struggle to fit in.  He doesn’t seem to be anything like Glenn.

The 7th HG was Whitney!  Whitney is 21 and she’s from Kentucky.  Just in case you didn’t hear her the first time, Whitney continued to tell people that she was from Kentucky for several minutes.  I lost track of how many times she mentioned it.  Whitney has the strongest accent in the house so, if you don’t like country accents, don’t listen to Whitney.

The 8th HG was Kryssie.  Kryssie is 31 and she’s from Chicago.  According to her profile, she’s best known for appearing in a viral video in which she was rude to someone at a restaurant.  Personally, I had never seen the video before so I’m thinking it might not be as big a thing as Kryssie seems to think it was.  Kryssie came on very strong from the minute she entered the house.  I would argue that she came on too strong.  After being in the house for less than 2 minutes, she announced that she would need someone to agree to cuddle with her at night.

“I have a boyfriend,” Whitney replied, her eyes bulging in apparent terror.

The 9th HG was Justin!  At first, I liked Justin’s laid back New Orleans stoner vibe but I have a feeling he’s not going to last long in this game.  First off, he’s a recruit and, shortly after entering the house, he mentioned that he’s never even seen Big Brother before.  He’s been struggling to remember everyone’s name (“What’s your name again?”) and he’s been a little aloof.  While everyone else was gathered in the kitchen, Justin was walking around the house.

The 10th HG was Alex!  Alex is from my hometown of Dallas!  And she’s Morgan’s sister!  The thing is — Alex looks exactly like Morgan.  And yet, she and Morgan are pretending that they’re not related.  They’re not doing a very good job at it.  Every time I’ve checked, Alex and Morgan have been either standing or sitting next to each other.  (Alex and Morgan could seriously be twins, though I believe Alex is two years older than Morgan.) Alex is even calling Morgan “Mo,” despite the fact that they’re trying to convince everyone that they’ve just met.

The 11th HG was Monte!  Monte is from Mississippi and he’s nice to look at.  As soon as he entered the house, Shane offered to give him a tour of the place.  That’s right — it’s bromance time!

The 12th HG was Danielle!  Danielle is a 23 year-old teacher from California.  When last I checked, Justin was trying to flirt with her in the back yard.  For her part, Danielle is absolutely beautiful but she also seems a little stand offish.

The 13th HG was JASON ROY!  That’s right.  The people have spoken and Jason defeated Jozea for the right to reenter the house.  Personally, I always liked Jason but it bothers me that he’s entering the house with a built-in fanbase that the other HGs do not have.  Considering that a lot of this season is going to be determined by what the viewers vote for, it doesn’t seem quite fair to force a bunch of unknowns play against someone who already has a following.

So, what will happen?

Well, from what I saw, it appeared that the women were bonding and the men were doing the same.  Jason and Kryssie seem to like each other.  Justin is obsessed with Danielle.  Monte and Shane have a bromance going.  And Morgan and Alex still seem to think that nobody will ever figure out that they’re related.

The first HoH competition is tomorrow!  We’ll see what happens!

Big Brother Over The Top: It Starts Tonight!

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 28, 2016

Hi y’all:

Just a quick reminder: Big Brother Over The Top starts tonight!  The feeds come on at 10:00 Eastern, 7:00 Pacific Time with the new batch of HGs moving into the house and meeting each other for the first time!

Yes, I will be covering the show on the site.  I may not have time to do 7 posts a week but I’ll at least do three or four.  To be honest, it depends on how many of y’all are watching the show and commenting on it.

Big Brother Over The Top is kind of an experiment so we’ll see what happens!  If it’s a success, I’m sure that there will be future online editions of Big Brother as well.  If no one watches than it’ll probably be remembered as just being an oddity, like Big Brother 9.

Anyway, if you’re watching the feeds tonight, please feel free to comment below and let us know what you think!  Today is my sister Melissa’s birthday so I might not be around until very late tonight but I’ll post my thoughts tomorrow.

And, of course, my Survivor coverage continues at RealtyTVChatBlog.Wordpress.com!

Big Brother 18: Finale Time!

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 21, 2016

Hi, everyone!

Well, I am going to be writing this post while I’m watching the finale so I should be able to post it as soon as the winner and America’s Favorite Player have been announced.  Needless to say, there will probably be a lot of typos in this post so I ask for your indulgence.  Also, needless to say, if you haven’t watched the finale or if it hasn’t aired in your time zone, this post is one BIG SPOILER!

8:30 — Okay, here we go!  Julie is doing her introduction.  I’ve given it a lot of thought and I am definitely Team Paul.  He may not be my favorite human being but I think he played the best game.

8:34 — They’re showing the 1st part of the HoH comp.  Of course, we already know that Paul won it.  I wish we had been allowed to watch this challenge on the live feeds because it looks like it would have been a lot more fun to watch than 90% of what we did get to see.

8:40 — I’m a little mad but they never put any of my tweets on the screen during the show.  I tweet about this show constantly. 🙁

8:43 — Okay, here we go with HoH Part 2.  We already know that Nicole won this won.  It looks like it was a timed comp so I’m not surprised that Nicole won.  James is always at his worse at anything timed.

8:49 — Yeah, there was no way that James was going to win this comp.  He looks like he’s about to faint, running up and down that roller coaster.

8:51 — Nicole pretty much destroyed James in part two.  She beat him by 12 minutes!

8:56 — Dr. Will is talking to the jury.  Everyone agrees that James has a good social game but they don’t think he took enough risks.  The jury seems to be reluctant to admit that Paul is a good player.  You can tell that most of them don’t like him personally and they’re upset about it.  It kind of reminds me of how the jurors felt about Evel Dick.  Mentioning Nicole makes Meech cry.  Bridgette thinks that everyone on the jury is bitter towards Nicole but Da’Vonne says it shouldn’t matter.

9:01 — Okay, apparently you can vote to either send Jozea or Jason Roy into the Big Brother Over The Top House.  Why would anyone vote to give Jozea another chance?  Prediction: Jason is going to easily win this vote.

9:07 — Yay!  Pablo’s in the audience!

9:08 — Okay, here we go with the final part of the HoH competition.  It’s Nicole vs. Paul.  It’s the usual final HoH challenge, where they have to pick how each juror completed a statement.  I have a feeling that Paul is going to win this because he knows the HGs better than Nicole.  Nicole spent all of her time in bed with Corey and not getting to know the players.

9:11 — Four questions in and they are both tied so maybe Paul didn’t know the HGs as well as I thought.

9:14 — PAUL WINS!  He received 4 points to Nicole’s 3!

9:20 — Paul evicts James, claiming that James stabbed him in the back.  Apparently, Nicole sold out James, just like she sold out so many other players.

9:28 — Here comes the jury.  I thought Paulie might get some boos but I don’t think he did.  Audience went wild for Victor.  Natalie didn’t really react much when James was revealed as being the final juror.

9:30 — Natalie asks Paul about some of the things he said.  Paul says he was having fun and he’s not going to change his personality.  Michelle asks Nicole what her one big move was.  Nicole say that it was getting Natalie to nominate Victor.  Corey asks Paul to prove that he’s a good strategist.  Paul points out that he survived to the end.  Victor asks Nicole if she was just riding coattails.  Nicole is confused by the question.  Zakiyah asks why Paul deserves to win the money.  Paul says he worked hard to win and that, unlike Nicole, this was his first time to play the game.  Paulie asks Nicole why she deserves to win.  Nicole says blah blah blah.  James asks Paul if he was ever planning on honoring his final two deal.  Paul says that he wasn’t.

9:35 — Paul’s answers were a lot better than Nicole’s.  Nicole tends to just repeat bland talking points while Paul owned both his game and his abrasive personality.

9:40 — Final speech time!  Paul emphasizes that he worked hard and that he had a target on him from the first.  Paul points out that he had no help and had to win his way to the end.  Paul points out that he stayed true to himself.  Nicole is talking and kinda rambling.  She said that she there to play Big Brother and not Big Baby, which is probably not a smart thing to say when Michelle is on the jury.

9:43 — They’re about to vote.  I’m going to predict that Paul is going to win this.

9:50 — James voted for Paul.

Corey voted for Nicole.

Victor voted for Paul.

Natalie votes for Nicole.

Michelle voted for Paul.

Paulie voted for Nicole.

Bridgette voted for Paul.

Zakiyah voted for Nicole.

4 vote tie!

Da’Vonne is the deciding vote!

Da’Vonne votes for … Nicole?

9:51 — Needless to say, I am massively disappointed.  I just hope that Victor gets AFP.  I’m really surprised to be honest — Da’Vonne looked like she was really getting into Paul’s speech.

9:57 — AFP: The Top three vote getters were James, Victor, and Natalie.  The winner is … VICTOR!  Well, at least someone who deserved to win actually won something.

Well, that’s it!  Another season is in the bag!  Thank you so much for reading and commenting this season!  This wasn’t always the greatest season of Big Brother but I know I had a lot of fun writing about it!  Thanks, everyone!

Big Brother 18: James Knows

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 19, 2016

Hi, y’all!

Well, there’s not much to report.  Sorry about that.  That’s kind of what happens when there’s only three people left in the house.  Big Brother is kind of dragging out this final week.  I would have preferred to have them do the first round of the HoH comp on Thursday night, the 2nd part on Friday night, and then the 3rd part (and the finale) on Sunday.

I can understand why they didn’t.  For one thing, doing the finale on Sunday would have meant competing with the Emmys and, obviously, they like to do the Big Brother Finale and the Survivor premiere on the same night.  But, for some one who has to write daily about the Big Brother House, it gets tough when there’s only three people left in the house.

So, for purely selfish reasons, I wish they’d get it over with as quickly as possible.

Today, two things happened that are worth mentioning,  First off, production told the houseguests about Big Brother Over The Top and ordered the three of them to write out some advice for the new houseguests.  None of them seemed to be too happy about Big Brother Over The Top, nor were they all that enthusiastic about offering up advice.

Paul’s advice was “Play your own game and remember you’re not Dan or Derrick.”

Nicole came up with, “You’re playing Big Brother, not Big Baby.”

James … I have no idea what he came up with. James, honestly, seems to be kind of mentally checked out at this point.

However, I can tell you this: James knows.  Earlier today, while Paul and Nicole were in the backyard and swearing to take each other to the final two, James was secretly listening from the kitchen.  So, he now pretty much knows that neither one of them is planning on carrying him to the final two.  It doesn’t appear that James has made any effort to change either Paul or Nicole’s mind.  Maybe he’ll try to work on them later but, again, James just seems to be out of it.

Anyway, right now, Paul is playing pool with James.  Paul keeps saying, “Do or die.”  I’m Team Paul but if he says “Do or die” one more time, I might have to switch to either James or Nicole.  (Just kidding — but seriously, Paul really can be annoying.)

Big Brother 18: What Would You Want To Hear In A Final Two Speech?

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 18, 2016

Hi, everyone!

Well, there’s not much to really report about the house.  As Margie mentioned in the comments under the previous post, the final three did spend some time talking about the previous houseguests and all the strategizing and scheming that went on this season.  From what I heard, Paul is very confident in every decision that he made.  Nicole seems to be continually trying to convince herself that she was a stronger player than she actually was.  And James — well, James still seems to be worrying about winning AFP.

Here’s the thing: the main reason that James won AFP last season was because 1) he frequently talked about how he needed the money for his daughter, 2) he was platonically loyal to Meg, and 3) he seemed like a nice guy (especially when compared to Austin, the twins, and Vanessa).  James seems to think that he won because he pulled a lot of pranks and made a lot of jokes.  Even at this late date, he seems to think that his fans will get mad at him if they seem him strategizing or actually playing the game.

Right now, Paul and Nicole are practicing their final two speeches.  James is not.  James is hanging out in the kitchen.

As for the speeches … well, I’m biased.  At this point, I am firmly Team Paul.  Yes, there’s a lot of things about Paul that annoy me.  I probably wouldn’t ever want to hang out with him.  But, as far as this game is concerned, I think Paul deserves to win.  I think he’s played the best game.

And that’s the case that Paul is making in his final two speech.  His strategy appears to be to emphasize that he did what he had to do in order to survive.  He’s going to point out that he had a target on his back from the start but he managed to survive, both through winning challenges and making good alliances.  In my opinion, he’s on the right track as far as his speech is concerned.

As for Nicole, she’s planning on emphasizing that she played strategically and not emotionally.  I don’t know if Nicole can really pull that off.  Her strategy mostly seemed to be go after whoever annoyed her on a week-to-week basis.  Nicole seems to know that a lot of people on the jury dislike her.  Speaking for myself, as I’ve listened to Paul and Nicole practice, I’ve been kind of shocked to discover just how inarticulate Nicole really is.  Paul may be loud but at least he knows more than just 25 words.

So, here’s my question.  Let’s say you were on the jury.  Let’s say that you had pick which of these HGs would get half a million dollars.  What do you want to hear in the final speech?  What would be the deciding factor in your vote?

Would you vote for the player who played the best game or would you vote for the player who you felt most needed the money?  Would you vote for the most likable player or would you maybe consider voting for someone who you personally couldn’t stand?  Would you vote for the most loyal player or would you vote for the player who did what he or she had to do in order to win?

In short, if you were on the jury, on what would you base your decision?

Big Brother 18: The End Approaches…

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 17, 2016

Hi y’all!

Well, they finally got around to doing the 2nd part of the HoH comp last night.  Since Paul won the first round, he got to sit this one out.  Only James and Nicole competed in round 2 and, to no one’s shock, Nicole won!

Now, I don’t know for sure but I’ve seen some people speculating online that James may have actually thrown the comp or, at the very least, he didn’t try very hard to win it.  Going into round 2, James was confident that Nicole would take him to the final two with her.  The online speculation is that James may have thrown the comp because he felt that Nicole would have a better chance of beating Paul in round 3 than he would.

Knowing James, that logic wouldn’t surprise me.  This entire season, James has been more concerned with trying to win America’s Favorite Player than trying to win the game.  He doesn’t want to have to work too hard.  Instead, he wants to pull pranks and make jokes and do everything else that he believes his “fans” want to see him do.  Little does he know that a lot of his fans have turned against him specifically because of his refusal to actually play the game.

Well, regardless of whether James threw it or not, Nicole won the 2nd part of the HoH comp.  On Wednesday, she will face off against Paul.  The winner will be the final HoH and will be guaranteed a spot in the final two.

Nicole earlier told James that she would take him to the final two but she has also told Paul that she would take him.  Paul, meanwhile, has told Nicole that there’s no way he would take James to the final two.  It’s possible that either one of them could be lying but neither one of them seems to have much respect for James at this point.  They have both said that they don’t feel he deserves to be in the house.

But you know what?  This is Big Brother and you win by taking the weakest player with you to the final two.  Paul and Nicole may be pledging their loyalty to each other right now but come Wednesday, I still wouldn’t be surprised to see the final HoH take James to the final two.

We’ll see what happens!

Lisa Marie

By the way, if you look over at the right side of the page, you’ll see a new poll!  WHO DO YOU WANT TO WIN BIG BROTHER!?  Let us know and happy voting!

Big Brother 18: We’re Waiting…

Hi, y’all!

Well, I was hoping that I would be able to tell you who won the second part of the HoH competition but they have yet to do the competition tonight.  Earlier tonight, James was telling Nicole that he thinks that they’re not going to do the comp until tomorrow.  However, according to the Pop TV twitter account, the comp is going to be held tonight and that’s why Big Brother After Dark is currently showing a rerun.

As of this writing, however, the LFs are still up.  Nicole is currently talking to James about how she hates social media and she only needs a flip phone.  So, inside the BB House, they seem to be convinced that round two will not be until tomorrow.

So, who knows!?

What did everyone think about tonight’s episode?  Usually I hate the flashback episodes because they’re so obviously scripted and, for the most part, they only tell us what the producers think we want to see as opposed to what the viewers actually care about.

But this flashback episode was actually okay.  I could have done without watching everyone in the house cry.  Crybabies are never that much fun to watch.  And I wish someone would tell both James and production that the pranks got old pretty quickly.

But I did enjoy the little memorial montage that they ran for all the past houseguests.  I’m glad that they acknowledged Pablo the Pelican.  And I enjoyed the little montage of Victor laughing and the diary room segment.

OKAY — back to what’s happening in the house right now!  James just returned from listening at the door and he said that he can hear construction going on in the back yard.  So, I guess they’re getting round 2 of the final HoH comp set up.

I’ll keep watching and if we have a winner before I have to log out for the night, I’ll mention it in the comments below!

Big Brother 18: The Final HoH So Far…

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 15, 2016

Hi y’all!

With only three people left in the house, there’s really not much to report but here’s just a quick update on where we currently stand as far as the final HoH competition is concerned:

The first part of the three-part competition to become the final HoH was held last night.  It was an endurance comp, which is usually James’s strength.  In fact, I’m starting to believe that endurance might be James’s only strength.  However, James still lost.

And who won part one?

PAUL!

Here’s my theory: I think Paul actually wants to win.  James doesn’t care whether or not he wins.  He views this entire season as a chance to promote his own “celebrity” brand.  His main concern is winning AFP and maybe securing a spot in another reality show.  Since James’s main concern isn’t winning, he’s not willing to make the extra effort.

Paul, on the other hand, has had to fight to stay in this game.  For the first few weeks, he was everyone’s top target.  (It kind of reminds me of Dan Gheelsing’s first season.  The main difference is that, after managing to survive being targeted during the first few weeks, Dan decided to lay low for a while.  Paul’s taken the exact opposite approach.)  Even though Paul eventually did make some strong alliances, he’s never really been safe in the house.  Since Paul has actually had to play the game (as opposed to just floating to the end), he has a personal stake in actually winning.  As a result, he’s willing to make the extra effort.

(James seems to be so convinced that both Nicole and Paul are going to take him to the final two that I wouldn’t be surprised to learn he threw the final HoH.)

We’ll see the first part of the HoH comp tomorrow, on a special Friday episode of Big Brother.  Inside the house, Friday night is also when they’ll be doing the 2nd part.  It’ll be James vs. Nicole and whoever wins will move on to face Paul in Part 3 on Wednesday.

When last I checked on the LFs, Paul and Nicole were talking about how little respect they both have for James.  Paul says that he’ll take Nicole to the final two and Nicole has said that she’ll take Paul.  But, honestly, I don’t think either one of them is being totally honest about that.

I have a feeling that, regardless of who wins, James is going to be in that final two.  Right now, it seems that he would be the easiest person in the house to beat.

We’ll see what happens!

P.S. By the way, I’m adding a new poll to the site!  Over on the right side of the page, you can vote on whether or not you’ll be watching Big Brother Over The Top on CBS All Access.  Thanks!
