Big Brother 18: What A Weird Episode!

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 4, 2016

Hi, everyone!

Well, I can tell from reading some of the comments under the previous post that a few of you agree with me that the latest episode of Big Brother was edited rather oddly.  If I never watched the live feeds and only got my info from what they showed on CBS, I would currently be convinced that Natalie and James are madly in love and I would currently feel so sorry for both of them.  The show’s editors are definitely trying to make the downfall of James and Natalie appear to be a great romantic tragedy.

Of course, we know the truth.  James hasn’t really played the game this season and Natalie has been manipulating him since he first entered the house.  You wouldn’t really know that if you only watched Big Brother 3 nights a week.

The other thing I found interesting is that, as opposed to previous week, the editors didn’t seem to know whether they should focus on James or Natalie.  Usually, when its obvious that a houseguest is going to be voted out, the show will suddenly focus on that houseguest.  It makes sense from a dramatic point of view.  But watching the show tonight, I got the feeling that even production isn’t sure whether Natalie or James is going to be the one evicted.

Victor’s target definitely started out as being James but, as of right now, it appears that everyone has decided to vote out Natalie instead.  But that could always change.  James has been asking people to vote him out and to allow Natalie to stay.  Personally, I would see that as even more of a reason to evict Natalie.  If Natalie’s willing to turn on someone who is willing to sacrifice himself to stay in the house, that shows that she’s a lot more focused on the game than James is.

So, my guess is that Natalie will be evicted.  And I don’t have a problem with that.  I’m tired of her.  She’s way too fake.

Meanwhile, Paul and Victor have been discussing what to do after Natalie’s evicted.  Obviously, their target is going to be James.  However, they have also agreed that, after James goes, they want to evict Corey next.  Apparently, both Paul and Victor feel that they could easily beat Nicole, even if Nicole won the final HoH and made it to the final two.

But for now, the plan appears to be to get rid of Natalie.  Will the plan change?  It always could.

We’ll find out!

Big Brother 18: Veto Results!

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 3, 2016

Hi, everyone!

I’m currently visiting with family for the Labor Day holiday so this is going to be an ultra quick update.  I’m going to tell you who just won the veto.  Are you ready?  I’m dragging this out because I don’t want to be accused of springing any spoilers on anyone who might happen to come across this post on Facebook…

Okay, here we go.

The veto winner is … COREY!

*Yawn*

It was a five hour veto comp and I have to admit that I’m kind of surprised to hear that Corey won it.  I’m going to assume that the comp didn’t require a great deal of brainpower to win.

Anyway, with Corey winning, that means that the noms will stay the same.  Earlier today, James again said that if he won the veto, he would use it on Natalie.  I was really hoping that James would win, just so we’d get a chance to see if James would actually be stupid enough to go through with that plan.

But now, we’ll never known.

Actually, Corey winning the veto might be the worst thing that could ever happen to Natalie.  I don’t think Natalie realizes just how much trouble she’s in.  James may be the target but that could change.  Natalie has been campaigning to stay in the house and, earlier today, she told Victor and Paul that James ruined her entire game.  She blamed everything on James.  Natalie obviously thought she was making a smart move but now, Paul is even more weary of her.  Paul feels that the fact that Natalie would so easily betray her closest ally shows what a dangerous and determined player she is.  And, if Paul decides that Natalie should be the target, it wouldn’t hard for him to change Victor’s mind.

As for Nicole and Corey, it’s all going to come down to what Nicole wants.  And Nicole has said that she’d rather vote out Natalie than James.

So, Natalie could easily become the target.

We’ll see what happens.  Until then, have a safe Labor Day weekend!

Big Brother 18: To The Surprise of No One…

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 2, 2016

Hi y’all!

Well, the nomination ceremony was earlier today and, considering that Victor is the HoH, nobody should be surprised by who he nominated.  We knew this was going to happen from the minute that he won HoH and so did everyone in the house.

For eviction, Victor nominated James and Natalie.

Of those two, which is the target?  Well, to a certain extent, it probably depends on who wins the veto.  At this point, the main concern of the Final Four is to break up the James and Natalie alliance and make sure that at least one of them leaves the house on Thursday.  Victor has said that his target is James.  For her part, Nicole has commented that she would rather get rid of Natalie but, in the end, I imagine that she’ll probably go with the majority.

So, if James wants to stay, he better win that veto.  Then again, shortly before the nomination ceremony, James said that, if he did win the veto, he would be willing to use it on Natalie.  And, actually, that’s something that I could see James doing.  At the same time, I know there’s no way that Natalie would ever do the same for him.

For the record, Natalie says that this is all James’s fault.  Actually, it’s Natalie’s fault because she’s the one who nominated Paul and Victor for eviction when she was HoH.  If she had stuck with the original plan and nominated Nicole and Corey, none of this would have happened.  Paul and Victor would have formed their Final Four alliance with James and Natalie and Nicole would probably be this week’s target.

James also says that he’s planning on leaving with a bang.  He’s going to spend this entire week playing pranks.  Honestly, if he had spent less time playing pranks and more time playing the game, he probably wouldn’t be in this situation.  I like James but he keeps making the same mistake.  Last season, he was too busy hanging out with Meg to play the game.  This season, he’s been too busy hanging out with Natalie.

Anyway, the veto is tomorrow and how that competition goes will largely determine how most of this upcoming week goes.

Big Brother 18: What a Night!

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 1, 2016

Wow, what a night!

I nearly missed the latest episode of Big Brother.  We had a pretty big storm down here in Texas earlier today and, a little bit before 6:00, it knocked out our power.  Imagine my panic as I realized that, if the power did not come back on within the next two hours, I would miss the chance to see Michelle evicted!

Well, fortunately, the power did eventually come back on.  It came back on 8:16, so I missed the first 15 minutes of the show.  Apparently, I missed seeing Corey and Nicole offer Victor the money in return for agreeing to vote to evict Michelle.  (That was unnecessary, in my opinion.  They already had Victor’s vote.  But it was still a nice gesture on their part and Victor does deserve some sort of reward for his loyalty.)

When the power came back and I finally got to see Big Brother, all of the houseguests were watching videos of their family members and crying.  That was sweet to watch.  This was followed by a long segment about Victor’s family and that was sweet too.

But, honestly, what I really wanted to see was how Michelle reacted to being evicted.  And, when the time came, the show did not disappoint.  It appears that this was the first true blindside of the season as Michelle had no idea she was about to be evicted.

When it came time to give their final speeches, Paul gave a very typical Paul speech.  If you like Paul, you probably enjoyed the speech.  If Paul gets on your nerves, you were probably cringing the whole time he was speaking.

Then it was time for Michelle to give her speech and … well, I don’t know if Michelle was nervous or if she was just so confident that she decided to just wing it and not give much thought beforehand to what she wanted to see.  Michelle’s speech was a rambling and occasionally incoherent mess.  It was Big Meech at her worst.

Then it was time to vote.  James and Nicole voted to evict Paul.  Victor and Corey voted to evict Michelle.  When Julie announced that the result of the vote was a tie, you could tell that Michelle was shocked.  Nicole then proceeded to cast her tie-breaking vote.  She evicted Michelle.

And, for a few minutes, I thought Michelle might not leave.  Instead, she stood there and she yelled about how Nicole was the biggest threat in the house and had to be voted out.  Then Michelle, who has been stealing stuff all season, grabbed Pablo the Pelican and finally left the house…

Michelle finally stared to cry while talking to Julie.  And I’m just going to be honest — I know that some people really like Michelle and I kind of liked her at the start of the season but I am so glad that she is now gone.  Michelle can complain all she wants about the other houseguests.  Ultimately, Michelle has no one to blame but herself for being evicted.  She could have at least made the effort to campaign a little.

Anyway, James was pretty shocked by how the vote went and it looks like he and Natalie are going to be in some trouble next week because guess who just won HoH?

Victor!

That’s right — Victor has been voted out of the house twice, he’s reentered the house twice, and now he’s won HoH for a third time!

James and Natalie are going to be in some trouble…

We’ll see what happens!

Big Brother 18: The House Is Dead Tonight!

by Lisa Marie Bowman on August 31, 2016

What a lame and boring week this is turning out to be.  With the game being this close to finished and a major power shift taking place — as Nicole, Corey, Paul, and Victor continue to solidify their alliance — this should be a really exciting week but no.  The Big Brother House is dead right now.

Basically, we have three power couples:

We have Nicole and Corey.  Nicole is convinced that she and Corey are going to get married after the game.  Corey recently told Victor that he can’t imagine hanging out with Nicole outside of the house.  If they did stay together out of the house, someone would have to move.  Corey’s in Texas.  Nicole’s in Michigan.  I don’t see this relationship surviving a big move.  Nicole and Corey are the epitome of showmance.  Without the show, there is no romance.

The same can be said of James and Natalie.  Natalie doesn’t even seem to like James that much.  Sadly, James occasionally seems to suspect that Natalie doesn’t really care about him but he just can’t bring himself to admit it.  Needless to say, I don’t see James and Natalie lasting outside of the house.

And then you have the friendship of Paul and Victor, which seems to be the only truly sincere relationship in the house.  Say what you will about Victor, he’s a loyal player and Paul has to know that Victor is the only person in the house who isn’t going to stab him in the back.  The Paul and Victor friendship will probably continue long after Nicole and Corey and James and Natalie have all broken up.

Of course, this leads one person out and that’s Michelle.  Michelle thinks that James and Natalie have her back, though neither one really cares that much about her.  Michelle is currently on the block and is going to be voted out on Thursday.  She doesn’t quite seem to realize it.  She has spent most of today imitating Audrey from the previous season, laying in bed and moaning about how sick she is.

After becoming HoH, Nicole (with Corey) following entered into an alliance with Paul and Victor.  I, honestly, did not expect it to last but I was wrong.  Their Final Four Alliance seems to be strong.  Nicole is determined to keep Paul in the house this week and, earlier tonight, Victor told Paul that he would trust Corey with his life.

James and Natalie both seem to realize that a power shift has happened.  They both know that one of them has to win HoH on Thursday or else they’ll be on the block.  James is especially worried and he should be.  Earlier tonight, Nicole and Corey discussed how much James has “changed” since Nicole won HOH.  Apparently, James’s reluctance to throw the wall comp has backfired on him.

So, in summary: Michelle will be evicted on Thursday.  And, unless one of them wins HoH, James and Natalie will be the next ones targeted for eviction.

Big Brother 18: Veto Ceremony Results

by Lisa Marie Bowman on August 29, 2016

Hi everyone!

First off, my apologies.  I have got a massive migraine going on right now so this might not be my longest or most in-depth post.  Fortunately, there’s not a whole lot new happening in the house right now so I guess, if I was going to get a migraine, tonight was the perfect night to do it!

So, they had the veto ceremony earlier today and Nicole did not use the veto.  She kept her nominations the same.  That means that either Paul or Michelle will be joining the jury on Thursday.

Right now, Michelle is the target and I don’t see the changing.  Nicole does not trust James or Natalie and she seems to be pretty committed to the idea of going to the final four with Paul and Victor.  (Corey, meanwhile, seems to be pretty committed to doing whatever Nicole tells him to do.)

Michelle, James, and Natalie do not know that Michelle is the target.  As far as they know, Paul is Nicole’s target.  At the same time, I don’t think we’re going to see a true blindside.  Nicole is totally paranoid right now about James getting upset and coming after her and Corey.  So, I wouldn’t be surprised if Nicole found some way to let James know ahead of time and hopefully come up with a believable excuse for not voting out James and Natalie’s number one target.

OR … Corey could just offer to give James his care package!  Remember how the original plan was to give Victor the money in exchange for keeping Paul in the house?  Well, Corey has new plan now.  Corey thinks that he should offer to give James the money in return for James throwing the next HoH comp.  Remember that, if a houseguest accepts the bribe, he has to do whatever he said he was going to do before he gets the money…

But here’s the thing: James has already won $5,000 this season.  And he’s currently competing for the chance to win half a million dollars!  Why, at this late date, would James give up a chance to keep both himself and Natalie safe for such a small amount of money?

For the record, Nicole told Corey that his plan was “stupid.”  But Corey is still seriously considering it.

Speaking of Nicole, when I checked about 20 minutes ago, she was crying in the HoH room.  She says that she’s been targeted since the game began and that it’s too much stress for her to handle.  Nicole, sweetie — YOU’VE NEVER EVEN BEEN ON THE BLOCK!  Calm down!

Anyway, we’ll see if Corey ever figures out what to do with that $5,000,

Big Brother 18: No Hope For Big Meech

by Lisa Marie Bowman on August 28, 2016

Well, here we are!  It’s Sunday.  Sunday is always the most difficult day to write about as far as life in the Big Brother House is concerned.  With the veto comp on Saturday and the veto ceremony on Monday, little seems to happen on Sunday.

That’s especially true today.  Nicole won the veto yesterday and she has already decided that she’s not going to use the veto.  She’s going to leave her nominations the same.  Paul will stay on the block as a pawn.  Michelle will be sent to the jury, probably as a result of Nicole breaking a 2-2 tie.

Nicole has been getting a little bit paranoid today.  For some reason, she’s worried that Victor will betray Paul.  Anyone who has been paying attention to what’s been going on in the house would know that Victor would never betray Paul.  Victor is probably the only truly loyal person in the entire house.

But Nicole hasn’t really been paying much attention to anyone other than James and Corey.  Just the fact that she sees Michelle as being a bigger threat than Paul proves that fact.  And so, Nicole is paranoid.  Apparently, she is really committed to the idea of her and Corey being in a final four with Paul and Victor.

So, Nicole and Corey have come up with a plan.  They’re going to offer Victor the $5,000 in return for voting to evict Michelle.  They feel that it would seal their alliance.  It’s a totally unnecessary move but then again, if they don’t do something with the $5,000, it’ll just go back to Big Brother.  So, they figure they might as well give it to Victor.

The thing is, Corey can use that $5,000 up to the end of the next HoH comp.  Why not keep the money and offer it to someone during the HoH comp?  That’s what I would do but apparently, they’re going to give the money to Victor for no good reason.

The only other big thing that happened today was that a drone flew over the Big Brother house while the houseguests were outside.  It dropped an inflatable sex doll into the back yard.  Written across the doll was the following message: “JUR8 BBS18 #1.”

What does that mean?

I have no idea.

Anyway, veto ceremony is tomorrow!  Nicole should be keeping her nominations the same.

We’ll find out for sure tomorrow,

Lisa Marie

Big Brother 18: Pity The Jury…

by Lisa Marie Bowman on August 27, 2016

Hi, everyone!

Well, I certainly was incorrect when I said that Victor reentering the house and Nicole winning HoH would basically cause the upcoming week to be just like the previous one.  Instead, Paul and Victor are edging their way back up to the top of the house while James and Natalie are currently on the outside looking in.

Speaking of being on the outside, I hope the people in the jury house are having a good week because things are about to get a lot more whiny.  Remember when Michelle said that, once Paulie was nominated, that meant she was no longer the biggest baby in the Big Brother House?  Well, as of right now, it looks like Paulie will soon no longer be the biggest baby in the jury house.

The veto competition was earlier today.  Everyone competed, except for Natalie.  And the veto was won by …

NICOLE!

And, as of right now, Nicole has told Corey that she’s planning on keeping the nominations the same.  That means that, come Thursday, the houseguests will have to choose whether to evict Paul or Michelle.

As of right now, it appears that James and Natalie will vote to evict Paul.

Corey and Victor will vote to evict Michelle.

And guess who gets to break the tie?  Nicole!  Considering the number of times that Michelle has publicly called Nicole a snake and told everyone that Nicole is her number one target, nobody should be shocked when Nicole sends Michelle out of the house.

I’ve had such mixed feelings on Michelle.  When the season first started, I thought she was boring.  Then, during the third or fourth week of the game, she got drunk and actually showed a little personality and Michelle became this season’s quirky, goofy girl.

And, for a few week, I was definitely Team Michelle.

But then, as Michelle started to gain more power in the house, a new side of her emerged.  Michelle revealed herself to be as big of a mean girl as the Spy Girls.  Even worse, I noticed that Michelle never really seemed to back up all of her sarcasm.  She might make fun of the way someone else was playing the game but it became obvious that Michelle had no idea how to play the game herself.

Let’s put it like this: If I constantly made fun of someone who couldn’t carry a tune, you might laugh at first.  But, eventually, you’re going to say, “Lisa, if you know everything about singing, prove it.”  And then I’d sing and y’all would discover that I’m even worse at carrying a tune.  And you would be totally justified in saying, “Who are you to make fun of anyone else?”

And then Michelle started in with the crying and that got old pretty quickly.  Even worse, she proved herself to have no loyalty to anyone in the house.  She latches onto whoever has power for the week and then breaks down into tears when no one’s willing to trust her.

So, I’m definitely over Michelle.  She’s gone about as far as she deserves to go in the house and it’s time for her to join the jury.

And, as of right now, it appears that is what is going to happen!

We’ll see if I’m right,

Lisa Marie

Big Brother: Just A Quick Friday Update

by Lisa Marie Bowman on August 26, 2016

Hi, everyone!

Here’s a quick Friday update for y’all:

Nicole is the HoH.

Corey won the care package.  He has $5,000 that he can use as a bribe.  If the bribe is accepted, the other HG has to do what he or she said that he would do or else the money will taken back by production. If Corey does not offer anyone a bribe, the money will be taken back by production.

Victor won the right to reenter the house and oddly enough, he appears to be safe this week.  The HoH, Nicole, announced her nominations today and she put Michelle and Paul up on the block.  Amazingly, it appears that her target is Michelle!

Don’t get me wrong — I’m not a Michelle fan but she’s not much of a threat.  Paul, on the other hand, is a potential winner and he’s someone that a smart player would want to get rid of as quickly as possible.  But, for now, it appears that Nicole is hoping to get Michelle out.  This seems to be more of a personal move than a strategic one.

If Michelle wins the veto, Nicole and Corey have said that they would put up either James or Natalie.  Nicole and Corey appear to want to work with Paul and Victor so, if Michelle comes off the block, it appears that either James or Natalie will become the target.

Meanwhile, James and Natalie have both agreed that they’d rather evict Paul than Michelle.  In fact, Natalie is now describing Michelle as being her “best friend” in the house.  So, assuming that the veto is not used, we could see a situation where James and Natalie vote to evict Paul while Corey and Victor vote to evict Michelle and Nicole has to break the tie.

So, right now, things seem like they could change at any minute.  Right now, Michelle is the target but we’ll have to see what happens at the veto ceremony tomorrow!
