Big Brother 24 — Week One Veto Competion Results

by Lisa Marie Bowman on July 9, 2022

Hey all!

Today, we had the first veto competition of the 24th season of Big Brother. Daniel is the HoH. Yesterday, he nominated Terrance and Michael for eviction. The three of them competed for the veto, along with Ameerah, Indy, and Turner. After being down for about three hours, the feed returned about an hour ago and….

Michael won the power of veto!

So now, Daniel is going to have to pick a replacement nominee. As usual, Daniel doesn’t really seem to have the slightest idea what he should do. He’s only been in the house for three days but it’s still remarkable how little Daniel seems to know about the other houseguests. Daniel was telling Taylor that he wasn’t sure if he should nominate a threat or if he should just nominate a pawn to make sure that Terrance goes home.

(Why is Daniel targeting Terrance? First off, Terrance has yet to really talk game with anyone so he has no allies. Plus, Daniel feels that Terrance is so likable that he could make it to the end on that alone.)

Paloma was talking to Indy and Alyssa after the veto and, according to Paloma, Daniel did not take losing the veto well. Apparently, he made some rude comment to Indy when he was eliminated from the comp. As a result, Paloma now wants to get Daniel out next week. It’ll be interesting to see if words of that gets back to Daniel because if it does, Paloma can still go up as a replacement nominee.

That said, I have a feeling that Taylor will be the replacement nominee, just because of how much the Girls Alliance dislikes her. I could see Daniel nominating her just because a lot of people order him to.

Either way, it still seems like the majority of the House is leaning towards voting out Terrance.

We’ll see what happens!

Big Brother 24 — Week One Nominations

by Lisa Marie Bowman on July 8, 2022

Daniel has made the first nominations of Big Brother 24.

That he ended up nominated Michael and Terrance for eviction is not that surprising. Daniel was saying last night that he would probably keep things simple by nominating the two of them. The mean girls alliance tried their best to convince Daniel to nominate Taylor but, in the end, Daniel went with his first instincts. Now, he’s up in the HoH room, talking about how he’s about to start crying because it’s just so difficult being HoH.

As of right now, Terrance appears to be the target. I assume the veto comp is tomorrow!

One final note: Julie hinted that there might be another twist this week that could potentially change what happens on eviction night. I assume that we will soon find out more about that. Just because Michael and Terrance are on the block now, that doesn’t mean that one of them will necessarily be leaving next week.

Big Brother 24 — The Nominations Are Today

by Lisa Marie Bowman on July 8, 2022

Hi, everyone!

The nominations are due to be announced today.  Daniel is difficult to read but, last night, he told the cameras that he would probably nominate Michael and Terrence for eviction because he feels that would be “the easiest thing to do.”  Terrence, apparently, would be the target.

The girls alliance is still hoping that Taylor will go up on the block.  Paloma and Alyssa have just decided that they hate her.

Level 6 is a new alliance, that was formed last night.  Alyssa, Paloma, Ameerah, Kyle, Monte, and Pooch.  They’re thinking of bringing Daniel in.  Meanwhile, Daniel and Pooch have another alliance with Turner.  Pooch seems to be big on having an all-guys alliance.

Anyway, when the noms are announced, I’ll post them.

Big Brother 24 — Oh yay, another all girl’s alliance

by Lisa Marie Bowman on July 7, 2022

Hi, everyone!

So, the first night is in the books.  I’m not sure when the nominations are going to be announced.  It’ll either be later today or tomorrow.  Daniel, the new HoH, doesn’t know either.  Apparently, he’s auditioned for Big Brother for ten years straight.  Being a superfan, you would think he would know better than to win the first HoH comp but, to be honest, Daniel seems to be kind of a space cadet.

Who Daniel is going to nominate is anyone’s guess.  Daniel did mention last night that Kyle, Terrence, and Nicole all made a good impression on him, so he probably won’t be nominating any of those three.  Pooch, Brittany, Alyssa, and Poloma are all safe from being nominated because they’re backstage, but the three girls can be put up as replacement nominees.

That leaves: Indy, Taylor, Jasmine, Ameerah, Joseph, Monte and Michael.  Taylor could be in trouble because Alyssa and Paloma cannot stand her.  They think that Taylor has an attitude because she was a beauty pageant contestant and they’ve been talking about getting all the other girls together and pitching her as the target to Daniel.

Finally, we have our first alliance.  Jasmine, Indy, Paloma, Ameerah, Alyssa, and Brittany have formed an all-girls alliance.  They’re going to try to duplicate what the Cookout did — i.e., each making side alliances while remaining loyal to the core alliance.  I doubt it’s going to work for them because the Cookout had two strong leaders in Xander and Tiffany and was also motivated by a desire to make history.  Whereas this all-girls alliance seems to mostly be motivated by cattiness.

I guess my point is that I refuse to get excited about any all-girls alliance that’s formed on the first night because I’ve seen this movie before.  This happens every season.  Everyone on twitter gets excited about it for a day and then the alliance inevitably falls apart before the first week ends.  This season could be different but I don’t really see that happening.

Anyway, if the nominations are today, I’ll post them here!

Big Brother 24 — The Premiere

by Lisa Marie Bowman on July 6, 2022

(SPOILERS FOR THE FIRST EPISODE BELOW)

I just watched the premiere of Big Brother 24.  The houseguests entered the house, briefly met each other, and then competed to become the first HoH.  And I have to say that it was a pretty good premiere.  None of the houseguests seem to be excessively annoying.  The HoH comp went smoothly.  Even the Backstage Boss twist isn’t too terrible.

As far as the houseguests go, it’s a bit too early to say who will really be strong and who won’t.  I’m personally holding off on judging or picking a favorite until I get to see them on the live feeds.  Both Kyle and Turner seems like they might be a bit too hyperactive but some people might find that to be charming.  I think the only person who really did any harm to his game during the first competition was Pooch but it’s not his fault that he got stuck with the Backstage Boss ticket.

Anyway, for the record:

Our first HoH is Daniel, who is apparently this season’s quirky musician.  Daniel will be nominating two people for eviction.  Pooch is safe from being nominated because he got the Backstage Boss ticket.  That means that Pooch has immunity for the entire week but is also means that he can’t compete in any of the week’s competitions and he can’t vote on eviction night.  However, he can compete in the next HoH comp.

What sucks, for Pooch, is that he had to pick three houseguests to “come backstage.”  Those three houseguests cannot be nominated but they can be put up as replacement nominees after the veto ceremony.  And they can’t vote this week.  Pooch somewhat randomly selected Paloma, Brittany, and Alyssa.  None of them looked happy about being selected so Pooch is going to have to do some damage control.

The final twist, though, is that the viewers can now vote to make one of three safe for the entire week.  So, whoever wins the vote will be as safe as Pooch is.

That’s it for now!   The feeds go live after the show airs on the West Coast.

Celebrity Big Brother 3 — The End

by Lisa Marie Bowman on February 24, 2022

Well, Celebrity Big Brother came to an end tonight, not with a bang but with a very definite whimper.

It was all a bit anti-climatic, really. For the first time in a long time, this Big Brother finale was only an hour long. As a result, the jury didn’t even have time to ask questions or even discuss how they were feeling before they voted. Meisha winning the final HoH shouldn’t have come as a shock to anyone, as she’s pretty much dominated nearly every comp this season. That she picked Todrick over Cynthia was not surprising. She and Todrick have been a pair since the season started and I also imagine that Meisha was smart enough to know that Todrick wouldn’t have a lot of friends on the jury.

Probably the most interesting thing about the finale was how little enthusiasm the jury had for either Meisha or Todrick. They listened politely to Meisha’s speech. When Todrick spoke, Todd Bridges and Lamar were both seen to dramatically roll their eyes. Shanna had already announced that there was no way she would vote for Todrick and Carson more or less said the same thing when he apologized to Shanna for what happened in the House. It really wasn’t a shock that Meisha won. Todrick got one vote, from Cynthia. Cynthia, of course, was the only member of the jury who hadn’t gotten a chance to go back and review the live feeds after being evicted.

When Meisha and Todrick came out of the house, no one stood up to congratulate them. Julie literally had to tell them to do that. The celebrity jury seemed angrier than most of the regular Big Brother juries. Of course, I think most of the celebs thought that Celebrity Big Brother would just be a month-long vacation. Instead, they found themselves living with the ultracompetitive Todrick and Meisha.

As for America’s Favorite Player, it went to Carson. I think that the hardcore Big Brother watchers split their votes between Shanna and Lamar, which allowed Carson to sneak in. That’s the only sense I can make of it.

Anyway, that’s it for Celebrity Big Brother! Regular Big Brother will be back this summer and so will this blog. As for now, Survivor is right around the corner!

Thanks for reading!

Celebrity Big Brother 3 — Double Eviction Results

by Lisa Marie Bowman on February 22, 2022

So, we had a double eviction tonight and it went the way that most people expected it to. Todrick and Meisha have pretty much dominated this season, both strategically and in comps. The main result of the double eviction is that one of them is going to win the season on Wednesday. My money is on Meisha because Todrick has no jury management skills.

To recap:

For the first eviction, Todd used the veto on himself. Todrick replaced him with Cynthia. When it came time to vote, Todd voted for Cynthia. Meisha voted for Lamar. Todrick broke the tie by voting for Lamar but, before he voted for Lamar, he gave a speech where he made it sound like he was going to vote for Cynthia. There was really no reason to do this, beyond Todrick’s determination to turn everything into a big viral moment. It’s the exact sort of thing that causes bitterness on the jury.

Anyway, Lamar left. I was actually surprised at how much I liked Lamar this season. I was expecting him to be another clueless athlete but he turned out to be genuine guy. I hope things go well for him outside the House.

The next HoH comp was won by Meisha. Meisha nominated Todd and Cynthia for eviction. The veto was again won by Meisha. Meisha did not use the veto and, for the 2nd time that night, Todrick cast the only vote that mattered. After another long speech, he evicted Todd.

So, our final three are Cynthia, Todrick, and Meisha. Of the three, Meisha played the best game. She was strategic and, most importantly, she didn’t do much to potentially antagonize the jury to the point that they’ll refuse to vote for her. Todrick has done well in competitions and he’s also proven himself as a strategist but a lot of the jury members can’t stand him. Cynthia hasn’t really done anything to deserve to win but she is likable and that might serve her well if she makes it to the final two and the jury is angry with either Todrick or Meisha.

That said, I have a feeling Meisha will win the final HoH and that she’ll also win the season. We’ll see if I’m right on Wednesday!

Celebrity Big Brother 3 — Veto Results

by Lisa Marie Bowman on February 20, 2022

Well, we’re nearly done.

I have to be honest with everyone. I really have not been able to get into Celebrity Big Brother this year. You can probably tell that just be reading what I’ve written about the show. The whole rushed format doesn’t do much for me and I don’t really care about the celebs who they selected for the show. I think Meisha and Todrick deserve a lot of credit for dominating the House but, at the same time, it’s not like they’re playing against the most brilliant competitors in the world.

So, I’m kind of happy that there’s only a few days left. I’m looking forward to a new season of Survivor in March and “real” Big Brother this summer.

As for what’s happening in the House….

Todrick is the HoH and, of course, he put Todd and Lamar on the block. I had to laugh during the HoH comp, when Todd realized that either Todrick or Meisha was going to win and he said that his alliance now had no choice but to watch as either Todd or Meisha put them on the block. Gee, Todd, why weren’t you concerned about this when you were HoH?

Todd, however, has won the golden power of veto! The assumption, of course, is that he’ll use it on himself and Cynthia will go up as the replacement nominee. However, Todrick and Meisha are trying to talk Todd into not using the veto. They’re swearing to him that they’ll all vote out Lamar whereas, if Todd comes down, there’s a chance that Cynthia could be voted out and Todd will use his only ally. If anyone would be dumb enough to fall for that, it would probably be Todd. But I don’t think it’s going to happen.

Tomorrow night — double eviction! And then, come Wednesday, the show ends and a new winner will be crowned!

See you then,

Lisa Marie

Celebrity Big Brother 3 — About Tonight

by Lisa Marie Bowman on February 19, 2022

Tonight’s episode of Celebrity Big Brother was so boring that I nearly forgot about it but, for the record:

Meisha won the power of veto. Meisha did not use the power of veto. Carson was voted out by a vote of 2-1, with only Cynthia voting to keep him. That’s pretty much what everyone knew was going to happen. Monday’s episode of Big Brother will feature a double eviction, taking us down from 5 houseguests to only 3.

I think, at this point, it’s pretty obvious that this game is either Meisha or Todrick’s to lose. The only thing that could change that would be if they go during the double. Cynthia would probably put them both on the block and I imagine Lamar would as well. Todd is a bit harder to read. He can’t compete for this upcoming HoH but he should be able to compete for HoH during the double.

But I have my doubts as to whether or not anyone can get Meisha out of there. She’s a challenge beast and, to be honest, she’s really the only one left in the game. If she doesn’t win HoH, I could easily see her winning the veto. Meisha is the type who wins the comps that she needs to win.

With all that in mind, I’m predicting that Cynthia and Lamar will be gone by the end of the double eviction, leading to a final three of Todd, Todrick, and Meisha. Out of those three Meisha seems to be the most likely to win. She’s played a good game but she hasn’t personally upset people the way that Todrick has. As for Todd, it’s hard to think of anything that he’s really done that he could use to make a case for deserving the victory. Even when he won HoH, he pretty much allowed Meisha and Todrick to run it.

But who knows! It all depends on who wins this upcoming HoH comp. We’ll see what happens.
