I spoke to Gillian Larson from Reality Rally yesterday. Those of you who read my blogs all the time know that Gillian was a contestant on Survivor Gabon. After competing, she started Reality Rally a fundraiser event held in Temecula California each year. I’ll tell you more about that later.
Gillian attended the live Big Brother show on Thursday. She was kind enough to give me a phone interview about the experience. Gillian had VIP tickets to the show. What that meant is she was able to bypass the line and wait in the “Green Room” for the show to begin. There were others there including fans that had won tickets. One of the producers stopped by to greet everyone and answer questions.
The fans’ number one question was one that we ask or discuss here on BBB all the time. Are the competitions, etc. changed to influence the game? Gillian has answered this question for me numerous times in the past. Due to legalities, the entire structure of the show is done months in advance. It’s all written out and set in stone. The Big Brother producer emphatically stated that nothing is changed or altered. This all goes back to the 1950’s game show fraud laws. So that’s it. I’ll never accuse the producers of “fixing” Big Brother again. I really do believe that with so many people involved they wouldn’t be able to get away with it. The producer said this is also why the coaches were given the choice of coming back into the game or not. Big Brother couldn’t force them to compete.
As for the set of Big Brother, Gillian tells me it’s located at Studio City. The live show audience, as you can see from your TV is very small. I asked Gillian if she felt that the audience was made up of mostly BB fans or “insiders” and she said definitely fans. The audience was very excited to be at the Big Brother house. The stage crew is constantly moving things around so that when Julie speaks the set looks a little different, i.e. moving the couches in and out, etc. The studio contains numerous monitors so the audience watches along with us when video is being played.
Gillian was sitting in the second to last row by the door in the audience. If you were paying close attention, when Janelle exited the BB house she turned to her right and hugged the woman in the last row. I saw this while watching the show and so I asked Gillian if she felt that Janelle knew her. Gillian didn’t think so. She said the woman reached out her arms to Janelle and Janelle graciously hugged her. Gillian said that Janelle looked beautiful with her makeup perfect and everyone felt she was very prepared to exit the Big Brother house and was dressed for the occasion.
After Janelle spoke to Julie, she exited the area as the HOH competition was being held. Unfortunately, Gillian didn’t get a chance to speak with her after the show.
Gillian mentioned that the producers and crew were excited about the new HOH game. As I’m sure all the regulars realize, this game had never been used on Big Brother before. Just to refresh your memory, the game consisted of a made up song describing one of the already held competitions and the contestant had to state if it was an HOH, a POV or a Coach’s competition. As with everything, the producer said that this game was invented and prepared long before this season of Big Brother.
Gillian’s event Reality Rally is very close to my heart. Not only does it involve Reality Stars (I love them!) but it also helps breast cancer patients. My sister had breast cancer and I’m always looking for ways to help. I know most of you know what Reality Rally is but for those who don’t I’ll summarize. Reality Rally is a fundraiser type event held in Temecula California in April of every year. This is the third year and it will be held on April 5-7, 2013. Tons of Reality Stars attend (over 100!) to help raise money to support Breast Cancer patients. The event itself is an Amazing Race type. Teams of regular people (like you and me) are matched up with Reality Stars and race around Temecula completing challenges. The first team to complete all the challenges wins. You can bet that your Reality Star DOES NOT want to lose!
Included in the festivities is a cocktail party on Friday evening with the Reality Stars. This is a great way to hang out with the stars, take pictures and ask questions. All the stars are very gracious and considerate of their fans. Saturday is race day and also the Reality Rally Pit Party. The party is held at one of Temecula’s wineries and it’s a beautiful event. You can watch your favorite Reality stars walk the Red Carpet. Sunday morning concludes the activities with a breakfast. You get the chance to take more pics and eat with one of your favorite Reality Rally stars. All in all, it’s an amazing weekend. Vacationing in Temecula without Reality Rally is great, so with Reality Rally you just can’t go wrong! Start planning to attend now and you’ll even get to meet me!!!! 🙂
As Reality stars sign up to attend the 2013 Reality Rally, I’ll let you know who is going to be there. Last year, some of the “biggies” were Richard Hatch (Survivor), Evel Dick (BB), Adam Poch (BB), the Munoz brothers (AR), Jonathan Novack (The Bachelor), Brendon and Rachel (BB), Michelle Noonan (BB) and Philip Sheppard (Survivor). This year promises to be bigger and better than ever with more stars, especially those from the most current seasons of Big Brother, Survivor and Amazing Race. On to the current Big Brother show. POV was held last night and low and behold Frank wins…again! He says that nominations are going to remain the same with Wil being evicted this week. I have a terrible feeling that something will happen and Frank will change the noms and backdoor Shane. I hope not, as that will show the others that Frank and Boogie can’t be trusted. Will he want the blood on his hands? As of last night, the talks were to send Wil home. 😯 Get rid of that nasty Joe who always looks like he’s listening in on all the conversations from the kitchen. Just watch his wandering eyes….they are all over the place.

No feedback from me Mike….if getting rid of the Boogie man means seeing Frank and Shane get to the f2, then so be it. Boogie is good for some laughs, but he is a very big threat in the house because he knows how to make his lies believable. He isn’t a threat because he’s good at comps, he had Dr. Will for that, and now he has Frank.

I think Frank and Boogie are going to keep the nominations the same to show the members of the ‘silent six’ that they can be trusted, unless something drastically happens and word gets back to them that the other house guests are planning to put them up next week if one of them wins! Funny, but it seems most everyone here thinks that putting Frank and Boogie up next week is okay, but if Frank and Boogie put up Shane this week they are untrustworthy!! I think Brit, Shane and Danielle will be the first to break the alliance! I sure hope Dan or Boogie win HOH next week!
I do agree that Joe has some hygiene problems, but what about Princess Brit who is always picking at her chin and putting her fingers in her mouth! For Pete’s sake – Brit use a cuticle clipper!

Bloggergal, Thanks for the report.. really good stuff!! I would also like to express my thanks for all the work you do here.
And I have always thought the Reality Rally was a very worth while cause, but it hits home for me even more so this year. Y’all may have noticed the breast cancer ribbon on my avatar. My 2 other “Amigos” (Aggie & Frannie) already know this, but my Sister was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in June. That was bad enough, but then they also found that it had spread into her chest wall and liver… and say it is incurable. She started chemo treatments on July 10th.
I only have 1 Sister.. and no Brothers.. and I am very scared for her, her children, and her grandson who just turned 4…. and for myself too. I didn’t really want to mention this here but figured now would be ok. I have been working a lot as y’all know, but my Sister is another reason I haven’t been able to keep up with BB as much this year. I try to go see her as much as I can when I am not working.. she lives 1 hour away from me.
Keep up the good work…… now, back to the show.

@marcy, I was hoping that Wil would stay at least this week, cause I thing he would put Frank or booger up, if he won HOH, Joe is just nasty and needs to go for the safty of the HGs, I Think booger plays the game but dont like all the bragging, hell when he is on my tv all I can see is his mouth cause his head has gotten so big, if I was there Joe wouldnt get in my kitchen, they all know he doent wash his hands why dont they speak up. SOME CHIT CHAT FROM THE GRAPEVINE
When the live feeds come back on, Ian and Dan are in the pool talking. Ian is telling Dan that as far as he knows Wil is the target. He says that he was talking to Shane and he was nervous he might be the target. Ian tells Dan that if they are going to keep the quack pack a secret, he would need to vote how Boogie and Frank want him to vote. Ian says that it is probably better to get rid of Joe because Boogie and Frank seem to have made a deal with Joe. Dan asks what kind of deal? (AH HA DAN IS ON HIGH ALERT HERE AS HE SHOULD BE) Ian says that he thinks it’s a one week deal to not go after Frank and Boogie. Ian says that if Wil if he stays is more likely to go after Frank and Boogie. They talk about how getting Wil out is better also because joe has a lower chance of winning HoH. Ian tells Dan they Boogie and Frank don’t want Shane to get near the end of the game because it’s possible to win a number of challenges in a row and win because there is no one would not vote for him to win. Boogie comes out into the backyard and sits on the couch. Boogie tells Ian that he got in the pool fast.(I SEE PARONIA STRIKES AGAIN, NO HONOR AMONG THIEVES LOL)\

Bloggergal….that was an amazing post! I didn’t know anything about the Reality Rally, so thanks for the info!!! Also loved the insider stuff on the studio show and Janelle. I think she is a really good person at heart and was a great competitor when she got the chance. But it all kind of depends on the people you are playing with in any given season as to how you will do on the show…and how you appear on the cameras.
People keep seeing Wil as a threat and i don’t see it. What has he won???? I’m not sure why Frank is waffling on replacing Joe with him. I don’t see either as a threat and Joe is WAY more annoying!!! I don’t think he will change his noms, it would kind of make him look stupid. I thought it made Danielle look undecisive and untrustworthy when she did it!
JT…..I’m so sorry to her about your sister!! I can relate as I only had one sibling too and she passed in Feb. I will definitely be praying for her and will offer up my communion and Mass for her tonight when I go! I am sure your visitations are helping her stay strong and she has her children and grandchild to keep her motivated to get well!!!!
I am actually crying as I am writing this. :'( I know we haven’t ever met in RL but I do consider you a good friend and feel so badly for you. Take care of YOURSELF too so you can be there for your family.

OK well, as a sourhern CA resident and breast Cancer survivor and this year brain tumor i am excited about Reality Really. i will look into that.
It blends my love of reality TV and Cancer charity work.
But about BB, i am aware that the show cannot be fixed but manipulated maybe?
Like more alcohol one day, or telling the players what to say in DR, …
or no eviction one week ?
Am I a little skeptical ?
But , yeah ! good for Frank

Thanks Jt, I have always considered you a good friend, what your sis is going through is very tough but what Tendr said is very true tring to kick the cancer’s Butt is the best way to go a positive attitude is so important when your sick and because she has a very supportive loving family, that matters alot also. I noticed your pink ribbon duckie some time ago and wanted to ask about it, but thought I might be bringing up something you didn’t want to talk about. I feel honored that you felt safe enough to share with us.
Does the rally have a website where we can donate online? Or how do we go about that if we’re not local enough to attend?
I’m really fond of Brit too. She seems really genuine but may not be a good enough liar to go the distance. Actually I like Frank more than shane, but Frank’s out for me as long as he hangs on to boogie’s coattails.

Ok I’ve been here twice tonight now. The first time to catch up on everything I missed…..and damn the BB show…….it seems that I’ve missed a lot with JT. And him & his sister is all I’ve been able to think about since. So……I came back this time to just say…JT YOU’VE GOT MAIL. If you ever need me….just let me know ok?? You & AC brought me into this blog family & if I can be there for you in any way….even if it’s just a person to vent on….just say the word babe. I caint believe Wil didn’t offer up a name to Frank as to who he’d like to see go next for a deal that might keep him safe. Wil could have just said “anyone but Ashley” or I’d like to keep Ashley safe one more week… something.

If Boogie was really the big bad hardcore player he pretends to be he would pull some Survivor shit and talk Frank into using the Veto on him with the argument that Frank is easier to keep around and has no pronlem escaping the block. Cut his losses with Frank and ride to the end with Dan like he assumes Dan wants to do.
