Bye bye, Zae!
I had mixed feelings about tonight’s eviction. On the one hand, as someone who can’t stand when one person essentially controls the entire season, I thought it was stupid to not get rid of Amy when the House had the chance. Rachel is a major threat and the smart thing to do would have been to take out the houseguest closest to her. Instead, a lot of the houseguests are more interested in staying on Rachel’s good side then trying to get her out of the House.
Rachel, to her credit, has been playing the game from the minute she came into the House. Tonight, after it was announced that Kelley was safe, while all the other houseguests were hugging each other and playing kumbaya, Rachel was counting votes. She was lobbying to get rid of Zae. She knows what she’s doing. (That’s one reason why I always think it’s a bit unfair to toss a returning player in with a bunch of newbies.)
So, I’m disappointed in the houseguests for not making the right strategic decision. At the same time, I’m overjoyed that Zae is gone because Zae was SO ANNOYING! When he wasn’t whining, he was talking down to people. Zae was dumb. Zae told Rachel that he would come after her. He talked about how he would only nominate women to keep an all-girls alliance from forming. He was an idiot and therefore, he really wasn’t much of a threat. For all of his athleticism, he was slow in both thought and movement. But he was very annoying and I’m glad I won’t have to deal with him for the rest of the summer.
(Julie told Zae that Amy was the accomplice, which means no battleback this season.)
My favorite thing about this episode is that Kelley won the Blockbuster. I don’t even like Kelley but it’s always fun to see the underdog prove everyone wrong. Everyone was pretty much assuming that Zae would easily win the Blockbuster and then Kelley would go home. Kelley proved them wrong. Good for her. I still think she’s dumb for volunteering to go up in the first place but still, I’m glad she proved everyone wrong.
How did the final vote go? I had trouble hearing some of the votes tonight but I was able to look them up online. Here they are:
Adrian, Keanu, Kelley, Will, and Zach all voted to evict Amy.
Ashley, Ava, Jimmy, Katherine, Lauren, Mickey, Morgan, Rachel, and Rylie voted for Zae.
The final vote was 9-5.
I’m waiting right now for the live feeds to return and reveal who the new HoH is.
Anyway, so much for Zae. Now, let’s move on to week 2!
